Watching Wheeler just *DIE* of boredom during the discussion of the trademarks and logos was fabulous.
My piece of wedding advice I ALWAYS give is to create a joint email account for all things wedding planning. That way both of you will have access to all the details and plans, and after the wedding no one will spam your main email addresses.
A+ advice
Thought this said welding advice for a second
I did this, can high key recommend it
@@Dr.Mrs.Pancakes That too
PLEASE let Wheeler organize the LRR MtG cards and STREAM it! I want that content! put it in my veins! OR at least a video.. but omg yes!!
Or just a 30 minute special of him slowly losing his sanity from the sorting.
I too would be here for this. Just get the LoadingTime camera and follow Wheeler as he finds more and more piles and figures out what kind of organization would be warranted.
Kinda doesn't matter if they just drop it to YJ for store credit anyway, though.
LRR Presents; Wheeler, the sorting.
Seriously, a sorting/organizing MtG cards stream with Wheeler is prime content potential. Take us through the process, show those excel sheets or other digital cataloguing tools. Salavating here.
I would love to watch this too!
I would love a miniseries of "Where is your card? Structuring a collection" with Wheeler
There was a distinct moment where I wondered why your outlines weren't moving when you talked... Its been a long 2020
We're now in month 22 of the Eternal March.
"The Machine" comes up as a gif if you look up "LRR" on my whatsapp gifs. You get Graham turning to camera saying, "Bring, The Machine!" and another one of Beej going. "YEEESSSS!"
Yeah I get them too. Actually use the "YEEESSSS!" one occasionally to respond to people enthusiastically. One of my favourite Crapshots for sure, as someone also from BC who also didn't until seeing it really give any thought to how very weird that might seem to non-locals / non-Canadians.
@@TehFrenchy29 Pretty sure they say "The machine" in South Africa as well, but it's been a few years since I've been back.
The LRR Logo is also extremely well designed without blaring out into the world that it represents a specific function. Like, imagine a dozen polo shirts each with the logo of a brand related to what LRR does, and I can only imagine wearing the LRR one in every situation because no one will think it's weird.
The LRR logo is a very "designer" logo. No words, no objects, just geometric designs.
Tips for a successful marriage from someone with over 14 years experience: Have these discussions before the wedding. 1. Do you want kids and how many. 2. Are you the same religion? if not do you expect the other person to convert which religion will your children be raised in? 3. How will your finances be handled, will you put your money together, who will pay the bills? These are the fights that break up most relationships.
What Graham said: talk about stuff, if something irritates you or you desire something, tell them or they won't know, they love you they will deal with the discussion much better than years of fighting.
100%: Kids, Money, Religion are the biggest but most awkward topics. So crucial to communicate frankly and honestly.
17 years checking in here: TALK. Talk about how you are feeling what you are doing etc... Check in on your relationship. Monthly, yearly... One of the best things my SO and I do is to sit down each year with a list of things that happened (good and bad) for the year and then what we want out of the next year. It is amazing to see what one person saw over the year verse what you did.
Kids and money. Figure it out. It can (and should) change over time but have an idea. Start general, yes/no to kids; what to save for.... Work toward saving X for Y or X kids by year Y. If you don't want kids that is okay.
Lately you will get a lot of advice about your relationship; learn to listen and evaluate. Some of it will be good because it will give you guidence. There will also be people that will say 'this is the only way' and that will probably not be helpful.
Enjoy! Life should be fun.
Find someone with whompst you either agree or are willing to disagree amicably about things that couples sometimes argue heavily about. Like major political issues, importance of religion, and tastes in pornography. Be willing to talk with your partner about any and all of these things.
the "guys i think i fucked up" had me in tears, beautiful
I don't get it can you explain?
@@sanksquatch7487 the joke is that the etire buildup to “why is this guy wishing for such weird things” ends up being him just being an idiot
Thank you Graham for talking about speech impediments so openly and helpfully. I have the same speech impediments as you do and work in retail sales. This is going to help me so much. Thank you!
💜💜💜
I think Beej inadvertently came up with another Dave Spokesman bit: "Dave's Woolen Socks and Knock-Off Crocs!"
Or the beginnings of a new Qwerpline sponsorship?
(I live in eternal hope for more Qwerpline content)
@@Bloodn0k I think with multiple people in the moonbase for extended periods having been demonstrated with Desert Bus already and people increasingly being comfortable around each other in person, it may well just be a scheduling thing at this point. Of course I'm not entirely sure what Alex has been up to beyond W+P (hopefully he's doing well whatever it might be). Hopefully it happens soon.
Yes please!
I actually saw The Professor’s Funhouse video this year, when UA-cam decided to recommend it. It was pretty charming, honestly.
My favourite "old content" is a tie between Hot Sauce, the whole Beej Drop continuity, and pretty much anything with Andy in, more specifically "Papers Please".
This was a really nice and wholesome episode. I feel like I say this for every ASKLRR
Loved the egg drop and all the askmaster challenges. When you are ready to do more of that I’ll eat it up.
Absolutely loved this, especially the marriage and dishwasher talk at the end. That was that authentic, relatable good shit.
Great answers for all the questions again, thanks so much for picking some of mine! I particularly appreciated Wheeler's answer about his comedic style and Beej's suggestion for a new Bionic Trousers intro/graphic. The fact you were in person for this just made it all the better. Thanks LRR
Heather is great, Heather is awesome, thank you Heather for today, our Monthly AskLRR
anyone notice that the LOGO came on screen but for 2 frames before the logo you can see the bois sitting down
whoops... secret frames
recently found the channel thru MTG; first time watching asklrr ; what a ride...
Welcome aboard!
The CTS intro is absolutely the best stream intro
Responding to Ben @ 59:15: I'd absolutely pay for this! All those juicy Beej sock details!
I mean I already do, but I would too.
The Machine. THE MACHINE. Heck, I do that in restaurants.
Yes. That Crapshot. As an American, I didn’t quite get it until I went to Vancouver in 2019. Nobody physically takes cards. They always bring the “machine” to you. Just a mild culture shock.
@@HbombandFriends The weirdest thing I think is that here in Canada the idea of someone taking your card away to handle it at the counter or whatever is weird and discomforting, and getting up yourself to go to the POS is just kind of inconvenient so no one wants to do it.
@@TehFrenchy29 I swear, two acronyms just collided in my head and it took 3 tries to read that as Point Of Sale and not Point Of S**t, which I assume is what happens when you go to the register to pay for a 400 dollar cake (as per Beej's comment)
I absolutely love the Professors Funhouse, and I'm not too ashamed to admit that I have legitimately cried while watching it in the past.
Thank you!!
Thank you for answering my question! My son has been in speech therapy since he was 2, so he's covered on that front. I'm glad to hear it was so helpful for you! I can tell the difference, but it's always good to know from the kid's perspective that it works.
"I've got your back, you've got my front" Wheeler is a top.
I'm always skeptical about watching these because its just some people talking about random stuff but once I start I never regret it, I love you and everything you do LRR!
Can we have a video/stream of Wheeler organizing cards? Methods, frustrations, and jokes. I would honestly love that.
Yay! A new video from my favorite content creators - ReadySteadyGo!
I like the different microphone stands, it looks like someone has put a crook out in front of wheeler as a threat to comically pull him off stage if his rants become to long winded
The Professors Fun House is straight up one of my favourite sketches. It always makes me smile 😃
Honestly my favorite AskLRR in a while! Thanks, folks!
57:11 made me spit take cause I immediatley got what he meant lmao I do the same
Lucky for me, my dishwasher is comprised of a set of reasonably well-used hands since my actual one stopped working and replacements cost money, so now "Dishes being done" is the right way to load the dishwasher
First name? Wheeler.
Last name? Wheeler.
Occupation? Wheeler.
This was a really good Q&A. Love this combo of personalities together on screen.
Such a chaotic combo. I love ask LRR
I'll never get tired of that Genie Joke. I remember hearing a variant of it when I was a child and I'm pretty sure it also helped shape my humor.
Thank you for all that you do, Heather! It is appreciated.
Wheeler and I both watched too much Frasier during our formative years and were deeply molded by it. I chose to move Seattle and get a Ph.D. in Psychology, but in retrospect I should have done what Wheeler did and learned to be funny.
Excellent, as always. I liked that last question the most. My wife agrees with Beej on the dishwasher loading.
I have so many feelings about you making videos together in person again and all of them are happy and good feelings. Thank you so much.
my favorite Hidden Gems are LRR's Poker Before Dusk [HD], Cursing [Aired February 2011], and Halo: The Future of Gaming. Oh and Who could forget Fun With Condoms... Great times have been had.
Interesting choice with the Shure SM7 series mics, as they're typically used for bass and kick drums in the music world. Maybe it's that same bass-y punch that makes it a favorite for broadcasters.
IIRC, it's the mic Michael Jackson did most Thriller vocals on
I've been stressing out about the Marriage thing for a while, so I'm glad someone asked you about it to talk about it.
It's always interesting to here you guys talk about the business side of things casue its easy to forget how much you treat it as a business when you are when you guys are so funny and goofy
I am literally wearing the same socks as Beej as he was talking about it. Or, at least, they have the same pattern and are wool socks as well.
My favorite ancient content is the Dota episode of Commadore Hustle. Some real nostalgia seeing Warcraft 3 dota since Dota 2 on the Source and now Source 2 engine is a decade old.
"the machine" was useful tourist information for my holiday to Canada.
The Professor's Funhouse video is still up on their site.
The embedded player didn't work for me, but the download button does, and it plays in VLC just fine.
Weirdly, it's up on UA-cam - ua-cam.com/video/irQkSdNUbmo/v-deo.html. But it's so old that it doesn't have a date that I can see?
The speech therapy discussion was fascinating. I don't think I'd recognized it as an impediment.. I have noticed a bit of 'wind-up' in delivery sometimes, but always assumed it was part of your unique voice, and enjoyed it as such. .. I hope this isn't a weird thing for me to say, but it's kind of reassuring somehow, that it conveys your excitement?
Yeah, in retrospect I have noticed that here and there, but I never connected it with "Avoiding a speech impediment" or the like; it just came off as one of Graham's mannerisms.
Haven’t watched yet, but cheers as soon as I saw this. Woooo hooo!
The dishwasher part crack me up. My parents know each other for 26 years, I'm 21.THE DISHWASHER IS STILL A DISCUSSION
So in regards to Graham's answer about the stutter, I just want to second his comments about speech therapy being a good idea: As a child, I learned to speak at a relatively late age (I was figuring out how to read and write before I could speak normal), and also had trouble pronouncing the "th" sound. Speech therapy helped with all that. In addition, I'm on the autism spectrum, and I often say with no irony whatsoever that a lot of what social graces I have acquired are thanks to the person who was my speech therapist for much of my childhood.
I am and always have been me but I can clearly communicate that to others thanks to speech therapy.
I'm so glad to hear speech therapy has been so helpful for so many people! My son has been doing it since he was 2, and we'll keep it going! 💜
Egg Drop is honestly one of my favorite bits, and I've showed it to all my friends. :)
I have a stutter, but years of theater and choir have kept it mostly invisible... in English anyway. What sucks is when I am asked a question in one language and catch myself answering in another, I go full Morse code if I code switch wrong.
In ascending order of hair.
I appreciate how I asked a business inventory question and it ended up with talk of licking Beej's hand.
Man I love Loading Leady Lun!
The Egg Drop was where I jumped on the LRR train, too!
God, "The Machine" Is also one of my favs, a real good pick there.
I just want to say that Graham, Beej, and Wheeler are all wonderful humans.
I am wearing the same shirt as Graham!
I have the exact same condition as Graham. Same history with speech therapy as well.
Someone literally went to my comment on the The Professor's Funhouse UA-cam video about how I would love a remake or even just a fresh audio track for that sketch, just to let me know about this AskLRR
Wheeler speaking my language with his organizing/recording. I don't have magic cards but I do have a LARGE personal library (books/DVDs/music). It's recorded and I know exactly what I have in what format. (There is a librarian inside me desperate to be useful.) Oh and the sheet music, I have a slightly ridiculous system to keep track of, and reference, my sheet music.
Wheeler's joke felt like a first-gen Crapshot and that's what I appreciates about it
Re: LRR logo. I bought the pride shirt, and had several people unfamiliar with your company ask if the design was some sort of stylized fish or something. I then had to explain in painful detail.
Still messes with me, seeing baby-faced Wheeler in that old Friday Nights bit
I live in Canada but my parents are American. When they visited last week and the restaurant mentioned The Machine, they were quite confused
I actually never identified graham's stutter before
I don’t really stutter anymore, it’s just the other thing occasionally.
I loved the BTM talk as I was always a bit lost on what the deal with it was
The Machine is one of my favorite crapshots.
Alright, I've seen 2/3 of the deep cuts not bad not bad. I often do periodic rewatches of content but it's been a while since I've gone through the sketches, and I don't think I've seen anything older than season 8
I know I just watched The Professor’s Funhouse again this year, so still up online somewhere apparently.
IMO, yes it ‘holds up’ absolutely!
Hmm, maybe I didn't? Feeling less certain the more I try to clearly remember. At the very least I saw a video involving The Professor's Funhouse only some months ago, but could it be different than what Graham is talking about, and I'm mixing the two in my mind a bit. I know 100% I saw the 'behind the scene' thing he's talking about, it couldn't have been many years ago.
There is one restaurant where I live that now does Debit at the table. It's slowly catching on here.
I would like to introduce everyone to the observation that 50% of every couple knows how to load the dishwasher.
Beej is such an interesting person, i'd be willing to sit for two hours of him practicing some instrument
Even if it's a vuvuzela.
used to argue with the girls that knives and forks should point down in the dishwasher. long story short years later i fell backwards onto the open door with the bottom tray pulled out. got injured pretty bad but didnt get stabbed.
I had no idea Gibb is almost old enough to vote
51:14 That's almost exactly what my brother-in-law said was his response to people asking him that question.
I think the dishwasher thing is universal
Just a note: in the description is says “Been” instead of “Beej”
Okay which video is the machine in? I know saw it, but my google foo is not strong enough to find it again…
ua-cam.com/video/8jS6kXT3qrk/v-deo.html
Engagement for the engagement god!
The sock and crock connection, i do it as well to be fair
Will this be the start of Can't Play Chordses Club?
elated to hear Graham mention The Professor's Funhouse as a deep cut, probably in my top five sketches and easily number one if it had better production value (to answer the question of if it has aged well: yes but also definitely no lol)
also, still on youtube: ua-cam.com/video/irQkSdNUbmo/v-deo.html
My dishwasher told me that forks and knives should go face down and I do what it tells me.
What kind of socks are those? I’ve been looking for a new brand. I am also a socks and crocs guy.
Now I'm looking for the 'The Machine', and I can't find it :(
My wife and I treat our magic cards like you guys do. except for the high value cards we treat like the low value cards excepting the fact that I will let her have something before I take it for myself and will buy myself another copy
Loading Leady Run
socks and knock off crocks, brought to you by Jock's Faux Knock-Off Crocks, be sure to bring socks! -QWERPLINE SPONSOR
Here's a link to The Professor's Funhouse for those interested, which is in fact still active and on the UA-cam channel: ua-cam.com/video/irQkSdNUbmo/v-deo.html
So that Puppet video is on the LRR channel. If you sort by oldest it's like the 8th video in the list. I only know about it because I started watching from the beginning recently!
ua-cam.com/video/irQkSdNUbmo/v-deo.html
I myself load my dishwasher the right way. Everyone else is wrong.
I also think about THE MACHINE most times I pay for goods and services using a card. "Can I use THE MACHIIIIIINE".
Keep circulating the tapes
The only thing that improves after you get married is the amount of wedding planning stress
Also I recommend having a curfew for wedding planning talk. We didn’t talk wedding stuff after 9pm and boy that helped.
I can’t even look inside the dishwasher lmao
