I love how Hyakkimaru's and his father's willpower is contrasted in the ending. Hyakkimaru's father had his people's interests in mind by wanting to save them from the drought, and failed for the sole reason that he had lost all hope and willpower and jumped to the easy solution which was his deal with the demons. Hyakkimaru on the contrary fought to get his body parts back till the end. Even as a little boy who knew that not having his body parts would have been disadvantageous, he still fought and in the end succeeded. Had his father not lost his will and hope, Hyakkimaru would have saved the land as the new lord.

I still killed her because as the other game characters bring up, how many families did she kill to protect her own? There's no easy way to determine if personal rights should be respected above the rights of others, but I don't think saying "it's his birthright" is enough to justify bringing back famine and drought to the land. People are commenting on the theme being karma and what you get when you make "deals with the devil(S)". I think it's more to do with the relativism of good and evil, and the aspect of voluntarism in being a martyr.
Hyakkimaru "deserves" to get his body back and we root for him. Yet as he progresses Hyakkimaru encounters multiple people opposing him. Many of the opposing parties have something to lose at the death of their respective demons (Hyakkimaru's father's main motivation). You can look at it like Jesus being forced into the role of a martyr as opposed to willingly choosing it. He would be in his "right" to fight back and resist. Like if Jesus came back Hyakkimaru style, reclaiming himself, we'd probably have a few people saying "woah let's just talk about it for a second".
Does the responsibility for the masses' well being fall to the one who unwillingly paid for it in the first place? Is he obligated to give up what he is "deserved" for the sake of others? The anime poses the question often with every opposition. We even see Hyakkimaru's own zealotry for reclamation almost consume him along the way.
An anime I deeply enjoyed watching. Glad I stumbled upon it.

This is actually one of my favorite stories, when I was young I used to play the video game based on the manga( which is really old): Blood Will Tell. It was on PS2 and I didn't have any space on my memory card, so I used to play the first couple hours of the game over and over again. Been wanting to replay it for a while, but never have gotten around to it. It was a very cool thing to 8 year old me

He wasn't protecting his land from his son regaining his limbs, he was rationalizing his decision. He could have carried his burden by taking care of his son until his dying day but again he rationalize it by tossing his son away as a "needed sacrifice".

The TTS voice is eerie. It sounds human except few words and some strange sentence breaks and fooled me for some time. But the idea that robots can fake voices so well is really concerning. We've seen AI replicate existing human voices with some difficulty, but to make an entirely new voice is much easier. AI can already imitate our faces (like deepfake) with relative success, and speak convincingly to humans (Like cleverbot or any other chatbot).
What does this mean for the human race?
When you're reading the comments, it's something to consider. What you're reading may not be real.
(Hell, even videos like these could be completely AI generated. Have you seen how many movie recaps videos there are? You can feed an AI plot summaries from a bunch of wikipedias and it would spit out a script no problem. More concerningly, AI would get an even better result if it freely browsed the internet, reading chat sites and blog posts to find out more about the movie.)
