because a router is not a switch. just buy a switch to extend the Wan or Lan built in. The reason? Assigning many adapters into bridge mode aka switch mode requires alot of processing power. a switch has phisical connections, multiple network interfaces on a router do not have phisical connections, it would need to be emulated in software, using more ram and cpu, and is also slower. just use a switch and that will give you more hard wired ports.
