I downloaded Powertoys hoping to solve an issue of not seeing a "picture " of my videos when I move them off my SamsungS23+ to my PC. All I see is an orange and white Cone. Is there any way to fix this so I get a "preview" of the video instead of the traffic cone? Thanks
You are seeing the VLC player icon instead of thumbnails, because I guess VLC is your default video player. That has nothing to do with Power Toys. If Windows Explorer is set to "View > Large icons" but you still don't see thumbnails then I don't know.
Thank you very much for providing this reply above. I've included a few troubleshooting steps below that may be able to help in addition to what @mdoerkse added: Steps to Enable Video Thumbnails on Windows Change File Explorer View: Open File Explorer and go to the folder with your videos. Click on the View tab and select Large Icons or Extra Large Icons. This should display thumbnails instead of just icons. Check Thumbnail Settings: Go to File Explorer Options (type it in the Windows search bar). In the View tab, make sure Always show icons, never thumbnails is unchecked. This setting allows thumbnails to show instead of icons. Install Codec Pack (if needed): Sometimes, missing codecs prevent Windows from generating thumbnails for certain video formats. Download a codec pack like K-Lite Codec Pack to ensure Windows can render thumbnails for all video formats.
