  • Today, we installed the AEV 2” lift kit. It is a great way to add ground clearance and keep your factory suspension when going up in tire size. The AEV 2″ Spacer Lift includes unique front and rear polyurethane coil spacers with integrated isolators and locating tabs, front and rear bump stop extensions, extended length front and rear sway bar end links, front and rear shock extension brackets and a driveshaft carrier bearing spacer. AEV even goes one step further and takes care of the electronics by including a ProCal SNAP for painless speedometer recalibration!

      Own a 23 Mojave too. I'm a hunter in the woods nearly every weekend so I probably spend more time off-road than the average owner. It's been great. Jeep spent a lot of time and money sorting this particular suspension so I'd be very hesitant making changes. Plus I want the reliability of stock. On the other hand if it's for looks go for it!

    Hi. Did this change the drive quality? Like when I got 37s before, the steering wheel would shake after 65 miles/hour. Also, Any issues offroad?

    • @appalachhaun_adventures
      @appalachhaun_adventures  3 місяці тому

      No. Your tires were probably not mounted and balanced properly. Tires have a color dot on them that is supposed to be aligned with the valve stem. Some tire shops don’t even know about it and/or don’t care. I made sure they mounted mine that way. Also, the lift kit came with the tool to recalibrate the vehicle PC to the new tire size too so the feel in the gas pedal and gears the way it drives feels exactly the same as with the 33’s. I can go over 80 and the steering wheel is just as smooth as ever.

    So I know it's only been 5 months - but are you happy with this Spacer Lift? I'm seriously considering this - I just want a couple more inches clearance - but I do some off-roading. How did your alignment check out? Did this change things?

    • @appalachhaun_adventures
      @appalachhaun_adventures  6 місяців тому +4

      The steering wheel was a super small tad bit off to the left afterward. I haven’t even corrected it but probably will since it’s easy to do. Alignment wasn’t out right after. It still drove the same exact way!
      I’ve done some off-roading and I think it’s a tad off now due to some trail bumps and stuff.
      There was a couple weeks where I heard a tiny bit of a faint creeking noise like as soon as I pressed the gas from a stop or first pressing brakes to go to a stop sometimes. Like when the weight shifted. Read up that it could be that I need to check torques on everything. It went away tho after an off-road trip 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ id say just be sure you get everything torqued up the way it says in the instructions, which I thought did. But maybe it needed rechecked after a bit! I’m not even sure if that creeking sound was from the lift. It’s gone tho. With the factory wheels and 37’s I haven’t noticed any fender rub or anything. The edge of tire will barely rub on the edge of the front skid plate when fully turning sharp in parking lots or on a trail turning super sharp. I just back off the turn a tad. I’m sure wheel spacers would eliminate that. Idk if you’re using the factory wheels or not with 37x12 but just letting you know.
      I would say go check the alignment just to make sure, but mine didn’t need anything right after the install.
      I’ve seen a bunch of posts and comments on fb groups, etc. that everyone loves the lift! No regrets from me

    • @appalachhaun_adventures
      @appalachhaun_adventures  6 місяців тому +3

      Also I can tell a good difference off road with obstacles, etc. on trails. Less scraping the hitch and underneath the Jeep. Easier to get over obstacles. I guess this is with the lift plus 37’s tho.

    • @appalachhaun_adventures
      @appalachhaun_adventures  Рік тому +2

      With these exact brand new 37” tires and this exact lift, it sits in the garage at 76.5” high from the rear of the hard top behind the rear door area, which is the tallest place to measure.
      I did the Jeep PC recalibrate for the new tire size.. It stays at 19.X mpg and goes into 20.x also. It dipped down to 16-17 when off-roading for several hours. Then, it will go back to normal after a day or 2. However, I’ve seen people only get 17 mpg on a stock Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I’m not sure how though. Mike stayed at 20.x mpg stock with the 33” mud tires. Looks like I only really lost 1mpg stying with the same brand tires but 37’a and the 2” lift.

    • @appalachhaun_adventures
      @appalachhaun_adventures  10 місяців тому +2

      This lift comes with the tool to recalibrate the Jeep PC to the new tire size. It doesn’t seem necessary for me with the Rubicon model. I barely feel any difference, if anything at all, with the 37s. Most normal people wouldn’t even tell any difference. I’m still getting easily 19 MPG average. I was always 20.X MPG before. It doesn’t feel sluggish or anything to me. Feels good to me the way it is. I most likely will never regear. Been Offroad and it seems fine in 4 Lo and on trails too.

      @@terryh4287 At full turn, it will rub a tad. I think it’s the tire barely rubbing on the edge of the skid plate. No biggie if you just back off the turn a little. I’m trying not to use wheel spacers, but many people use them to just push the tire out a little bit. Also, I’ve seen videos where you can take off the screws for the turn lock stops (not sure the real name of it), and add washers. It’ll reduce your turning radius enough to not rub at full turn.

      @@appalachhaun_adventures That is encouraging news. I just put the full blown Teraflex 3.5 lift with the 3.3 falcons, Steer Smart brace, Steer Smart frt track bar, etc. 37 inch Milestars on new 9x17 wheels. It took me off and on 3 days to install the kit, and once everything was done, I drove it around the very large block (rural Idaho) but had a plane ticket to come home the next morning. Won't be going back to Idaho until mid July to go have an alignment and actually DRIVE it to see what's what. The little bit I did drive it (maybe 3 miles) I did not really notice much of a difference in power (gearing). But the Gladiator only has 190 miles on it, so there is not much of a benchmark yet anyway. Thx for the reply, as I am even more curious now about the mileage.
