    Some Great ideas and gear..
    I would probably add a military poncho to add to the woobie, and to keep you and your pack dry...
    Thanks for sharing

    Awesome video! Thank you for the shout-out! Jay says you need to get rid of half that stuff and replace it with more road flares.

    The physical ability to ruck any distance with weight is often an overlooked part of preparedness. Watch the weight, it does matter. Great video.

      Definitely. I mentioned that considering my lack of fitness. They cut that part ;-)

    I don't have a bug out bag, but wouldn't mind building one, because I basically have random stuff in my car/residence that isn't grouped up or packed for portability. They're basically single items, in specific places

    I like to keep an old school #2 pencil with right in the rain pads. I prefer the pens, but the pencil is a great backup.

      Right on. I have a mechanical rite in the rain pencil in that side pocket too. But I like the #2 suggestion

      @caseyloftis Рік тому +1

      @@WeaponsJunkie it's one of those cheap solutions that is good. A $2 box of pencils will supply all the packs you have stashed. Even when you break them they still work.

    Overall, a pretty descent set up. Could use more stainless steel water containment instead of plastic. Also more calories. While mountain house does taste good, you'll need about 4x the caloric intake during SHTF moments.

    The trickiest logistical obstacle with Bug Out Bags is that categories like Food, Defense, Comms, and Shelter can be extremely cumbersome. I mean ammo, batteries, electronics, water, clothing and pads....these can all be very bulky and heavy items. There's no way you could really fit all that into one bag at a reasonable carrying weight. A bottle of water and a couple bags of food won't last long. Nor will an emergency bivvy keep you comfortable and warm very long. Two clips of bullets won't win you more than one fire fight.

    • @WeaponsJunkie
      @WeaponsJunkie Рік тому

      Everything is “mission” specific. As I discuss the more skill you have the less dependent on gear. Having it and being able to take what is needed is critical. I also suggest having a “car kit” in addition to a get home bag.

    Very impressive kit, Sir. My thought is concerning the comms pouch with respect to the possibility of an EMP. What are your thoughts on the protection of the electronics. I'd like to see them build some protection into the bag itself. Thank you for your video. DJH

    Woobie's are not warm and the E-bivys only keep the wind and rain off and do not work unless your body is already warm.
    I'm an x- armoured soldier in Canada I know what I'm saying.
    A poncho and or rain gear , tarp ect. Real sleeping bag, wool hat, gloves, parka, insulated pants, winter boots, food, hot water bottle, coffee, hot chocolate, cupa soup are all things I carry in
    my one and only bag because if you can't drive anywhere chances are your house is compromised.
    Layers of clothing xtra socks of coarse.a good knife, stay off the ham circuit and just monitor.
    Police scanner is better.
    The #1 thing is take care of your feet and stay out of the elements.
    To lighten the load always over dress for the weather.
    No need for trekking poles - sticks are everywhere, no need for battery banks because most people will be home by then: and how do you get lost going home from work?
    You only get lost going somewhere you haven't been, you never get lost going home do you.
    Geez people think a little.
