Well, bhangra is named after bhang(a ineberiting drink used on holi and new year festivals) is performed on baisakhi a hindu-sikh solar new year festival. I'm pretty sure it is "haram" and "jahalliya" by muslim standards.

Yes you're right bhai, it's painful to see that happen. I wasn't aware that they had banned it. I just read up on it and no surprises there, it was the puritanical mutt Zia who banned it.
They need to claim their culture back. I feel they have misunderstood Islam and misinterpreted a religion as an abrogative semi-culture.
Correction though, Muslims use the lunar calender only for religious events, and have always used solar for all other purposes, since the lunar one is useless for all practical matters. Peace.

@NISHANT THAKUR yes the took rest but being a dancer I do bhangra almost in every school function and this takes to much practice. First you have to learn all steps and also you have to remember them which is not easy because it's generally 7-9 min performance and too much song remixes are there you can't repeat steps too much time.
