Great memories! The guy who owned the store and bathhouses long ago was the best man at our wedding, in Wrangell, in 1985. Wally was still at Baranof at that time. We went there to visit while fishing that summer (power troll gear group). It is all different now. We also lived at Port Armstrong Hatchere, on southeast tip of Baranof, 1999-2001. Went to hot springs during that time and didn't recognize anything! Lol!

    • @akgobears

@@AnAlaskaHomestead Thinking the price is $24,000 a trip so if they have 6 passengers , you do the math...Plus they require you to purchase travel insurance...Thats the best i could figure out...My downfall would be you have to purchase your own alcohol...They wont have enough room for my 3 ice chests full of beer LOL !!!

I didn’t see anyone fishing but I thought i seen a guy headed to the lake with a fly rod. He was off in the distance so I’m not sure. Most people were just relaxing and taking in the scenery.

Hail and Good Morrow from Neanderthal Central!
Loved this vlog very much! Finally getting to see some of Baranof was nice, but I kept trying to wonder how long it would take someone in an electric 'mobility' cart to make it to the hot springs!
I did want to ask if you would consider including a Map of the Route, so folks can get a general idea of where your destinations are from Home Base, then a 'close up' map of the exact location you'll be visiting (ie, Baranof Island close up map, then Angoon, etc.), this would I believe, give much better sense of direction and 'locality' with reference to your place, and in relation to Juneau.
Still been trying to 'find the floor' here, on near daily basis, but the frequency seems to be lessening.
Keep Clam (as (Ivar would say) and Carry On!
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

I'm happier than one of Ivar's Clams that the Lord has continued to bless you concerning your arm, your family, and your boat (hopefully He'll turn His attention to your Furry Child about 'eating everything in sight on the beach'!
I still yearn to finish up near salt water, and haven't given up completely, but have handed all 'travel plans' over to the Lord for where I end upon; both both sides of the grave!
Chow down on some quality Dungie meat when you get a chance: Dungies and Kings are my top Crustaceans....with raw oysters coming in 3rd, and butterflied Razor Clams sauteed in butter with smashed/minced garlic clove and grated fresh ginger root!

It seems like a picturesque journey. I couldn't help but notice that your boat was bouncing in the water like a porpoise (aka porpoising). Do you happen to have trim tabs? We added them to our own boat and it entirely got rid of the issue. The location, size and length of tab, and pitch is also a crucial factor to consider.
