We are loving the new boat. Thanks for watching!
Ok ya’ll. You are really upping your game. Mixing it up with these excursions is amazing.
Great work and love that your interviewing these owner operators.
Thanks so much. We’ve never really went exploring before. Partly because I’ve never owned a boat and our boat was small. Now I got 8 years piloting a boat under my belt and a sea worthy boat we feel comfortable leaving home.
Really beautiful. Great to be able to just go have fun and see great places with the kids instead of working. Prayers for Dianas mom. Have a great trip and Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the prayers Mary.
We had a great time exploring with the kids. What a jam packed vacation.

Spectacular Views !!! Brian thank you and your family for sharing your adventures. Beautiful Video ⚓️🛟⚓️
Thank you for watching.
Now how cool was that!! Those hot springs looked ever so good. Glad ya ran into the tour sailboat outfit. Total of 6 guest plus two of them making it 8 people seems to be a tight vacation. Hope they come visit ya's. Stay safe my friends!
That would be cool if they came to visit. I’d love to go sailing with them.
What an incredibly beautiful place for some hot tubbin'! The sailboat was very cool! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
It really was cool getting a tour of his sailboat.
Thank you! You too!
Sounds like a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing Brian.
If you ever find yourself in the SE put it on the bucket list.
Absolutely beautiful! The sail boat adventure really sounds amazing. Another awesome adventure Brian! Loved it! ❤️
Thanks so much guys.
Great memories! The guy who owned the store and bathhouses long ago was the best man at our wedding, in Wrangell, in 1985. Wally was still at Baranof at that time. We went there to visit while fishing that summer (power troll gear group). It is all different now. We also lived at Port Armstrong Hatchere, on southeast tip of Baranof, 1999-2001. Went to hot springs during that time and didn't recognize anything! Lol!
Wow that’s amazing. That’s for the little bit of history👍
Fantastic video !!!
Thank you very much! We all had a great time.
Loving the travel series. You do great interviews as well. Thanks again and stay vigilant!
Much appreciated!

Thank you Patricia. I hope the can free the entangled whales too.
I grew up on the NW coast of Washington State & did the hot spring but sure didn't have that view! Just wow on that place 😊
Not going to lie, it was pretty awesome.

It was!
Awesome video guys. Looks like a great place to visit. The falls are beautiful.
I’d recommend this place to anyone who lives near by. You could boat or take a float plane out for the weekend. Really cool place.
That was a very cool video. I never imagined there were places like this in Alaska!
Yes there are several hot spring in Alaska. This place was amazing.
Thank you for always going the extra mile. You see something interesting and, if possible, you ask questions and tape people doing their thing. I’m happy that others accept that you are promoting the absolute prime of Alaska and get on your bandwagon!
Thank you.
The sailing channel Alluring Arctic did this in January or February . First they got lost in all the snow, Then when they did find the pools they said they were warm. Good to know they're hot in the summer.
😂 I subscribed to their channel about a month ago. I seen their Glacier Bay video and then started watching some older ones.
Thanks, enjoyed your video. Like the sailboat tour. ✌🏻👊🏼
More to come!
Wowie! AGAIN I say this is my favorite video of yours! Such beauty! I've seen a video shot here ~ what a treat! Thank you! Oops! Meant to say I have NEVER seen this area.
Thank you. The next video of Angoon and Hoonah was kind of rushed so I hope it turns out good. We will be going back to those place again though. So what we missed on this trip we can finish up on the next one.
😂😂😂 remember Gilligan’s Island was only a 3 hour tour 😂😂😂
Great video, sure you would love sailing, it’s a different feel but very enjoyable.
ALL THE BEST…
😂 yes it was
That little island harbor area is drop dead gorgeous ....Love with the new boat your able to take little adventures like this to neat places like this....Thanks for bringing us along...Hope to see you do more of it...I checked out that charter boat website...Pretty pricey but it looks like a trip of a lifetime to say the least...Stay safe, and may all be well....
Yeah we are loving it. I didn’t check the pricing out. I would think $4-8k? I think if I had to choose between a cruise ship or a sailing trip I’d go with the sailboat. Definitely see parts of alaska most tourist don’t get to see.
Now I have to check the prices 😂👍
@@AnAlaskaHomestead Thinking the price is $24,000 a trip so if they have 6 passengers , you do the math...Plus they require you to purchase travel insurance...Thats the best i could figure out...My downfall would be you have to purchase your own alcohol...They wont have enough room for my 3 ice chests full of beer LOL !!!
@@akgobears 😂 of course you need a few ice chest😂🤣😂
I wonder if that price is for all 6. I found another sailboat that did $2800 a day for 6 passengers or $450 a day per person.
Great vid, and great knot tying skills with the mooring lines!
Thanks👍
Thanks you both for another awesome video
Our pleasure!
Was there last summer. Beautiful spot, we’re the cabins by the dock still sliding down to the water.
Ha they were.
Place is absolutely amazing. Me and @alaskaprimal were down there this spring.
Nice, did Able go with you?
@@AnAlaskaHomestead no is was Ryan, my dad, and myself.

Brian we enjoyed your video , great job man. Very good info. Good content. Glad we found you because we need to live vicariously through y’all. Would absolutely love to visit Alaska some day. Thank you Charlene. We had an amazing trip.
Beautiful video! Did your daughter in law tell you we have a town in Arkansas called Hot Springs lol! They are 120 degrees all the time. Thanks for showing us how beautiful Alaska is!
Yes I do believe they went there once when they were in collage.
The spring looked like a great place to visit, leave one paradise to visit another..😮😅 The boat tour was awesome, I hope it drums up some business for them, but I already know where in staying..lol 😂😅😊 Love ya'll ❤

Great video--thanks!!
Glad you liked it!
That was excellent video, Brian and Diana. Great family time. Boy your boat can fly! It must be a pleasure to go sightseeing. Those hot springs is on my bucket list when I next visit Alaska and the cruise boat info very helpful.
I was there in Sept 2014 on a Holland America cruise: Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. The inside passage is just awesome.
Looking forward to your next “Discovery trip”.
Thank you. 2014?! It’s about time to head back up here😂👍 Have a great week.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead yep. Saving hard. 😄
beautiful boat ! Live Free Hug :)
Live Free🤗
Dam Brian that thing really smokes along!! What a beautiful area you guys are so lucky to live there is all this stuff free to the public? what makes the water hot ? volcanoes? every thing is crystal clear must have a great new camera
The price of gas to get there. There was a box on the dock to pay for staying the night, under the honor system. So we paid $20 to stay on the docks. I almost didn’t notice it though 😂👍
Oh yes, geothermal heat warms the water.
Yeah, next thing you know, you're gonna have a sailboat! 🤣
😂🤣😂 You never know. I am subscriber to several sailing channels.
Brian, that water was so hot that it took your hair off. 😂😂😂
A rare phenomenon😂🤣😂
What a beautiful place! ❤ Did you try to fish or get to see anyone fishing where the river flowed into the bay? Your boat cuts so smoothly through the water! Amazing! Thank you and I hope you and and your family are feeling and doing better!
I didn’t see anyone fishing but I thought i seen a guy headed to the lake with a fly rod. He was off in the distance so I’m not sure. Most people were just relaxing and taking in the scenery.
Hail and Good Morrow from Neanderthal Central!
Loved this vlog very much! Finally getting to see some of Baranof was nice, but I kept trying to wonder how long it would take someone in an electric 'mobility' cart to make it to the hot springs!
I did want to ask if you would consider including a Map of the Route, so folks can get a general idea of where your destinations are from Home Base, then a 'close up' map of the exact location you'll be visiting (ie, Baranof Island close up map, then Angoon, etc.), this would I believe, give much better sense of direction and 'locality' with reference to your place, and in relation to Juneau.
Still been trying to 'find the floor' here, on near daily basis, but the frequency seems to be lessening.
Keep Clam (as (Ivar would say) and Carry On!
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
Howdy JR
I was supposed to film that but didn’t get it done. Next time I will definitely bust out the map👍
@@AnAlaskaHomestead
I'm happier than one of Ivar's Clams that the Lord has continued to bless you concerning your arm, your family, and your boat (hopefully He'll turn His attention to your Furry Child about 'eating everything in sight on the beach'!
I still yearn to finish up near salt water, and haven't given up completely, but have handed all 'travel plans' over to the Lord for where I end upon; both both sides of the grave!
Chow down on some quality Dungie meat when you get a chance: Dungies and Kings are my top Crustaceans....with raw oysters coming in 3rd, and butterflied Razor Clams sauteed in butter with smashed/minced garlic clove and grated fresh ginger root!
Stay safe and keep enjoy the bounty the Lord has given y'all!
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
Hey, you did add it to your list. And you made it. There is another you need to hit now... white sulfur springs. On chichagoff i think.
I’ll have to do some research on that. Looks like there’s a(state?) cabin there. I’m assuming you’d have to anchor and hike to it.
@AnAlaskaHomestead ya is a bit trickier to get ashore on that one, but cool spot. I haven't been to it off course. I just do massive amounts of research for when I move up there.
I didn't steer you wrong though on baranoff warm springs. I think that was on one of your live events a while back. Love your channel. The homestead life and now the adventures in the boat. 😊
@@mikeknape7064 ha about 20 min after I read your comment my buddy Captain Funk called and said we needed to go to white sulfur springs. Said the same thing it’s tricky getting in there, plus it’s a good ways out in the open ocean but he’s done it and said it would be a great trip to do with a couple of boats.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead what are the odds? Your boat would do fine out there most days. Pick a couple days with good weather and have a fun trip with captain Funk.
When you doing sweetheart creek again? I'd imagine it is coming up soon.
@@mikeknape7064 yes sometime in August. We will have to lock a date down.
❤❤Finger up .. the time when you can not think about the cold Hello from Russia..friend..😊😂😂
Hello 🤙
It seems like a picturesque journey. I couldn't help but notice that your boat was bouncing in the water like a porpoise (aka porpoising). Do you happen to have trim tabs? We added them to our own boat and it entirely got rid of the issue. The location, size and length of tab, and pitch is also a crucial factor to consider.
We do have trim tabs. 👍
@@AnAlaskaHomestead are they electric or static? Maybe it's just me, but I dislike porpoising. I like slamming on the throttle and skimming over the wake.
@@clark7117 they are electric.
And for you all posting, I have actually cruised around this whole area of all for years, Baranof, chitigof,Admiralty islands, most of southeast AK! No plAce on earth like it! Real simple!😉👍
Wow 50 foot sailboat and he sails it basically by himself I was always told it would be 200 for that big of a boat cause that's the size of boat that I would like 40 around 40 feet to live on not just to play on but I was told that one person couldn't handle a 40 footer better off the state of 2526 footer for one person We gotta have room for the chickens and rabbits that's why I like a 50 footer I watch a UA-cam channel that live on the sailboat and sail all over the world their sailboat is a small one and the motor in it is electric and it's charged by solar and they're in port rebuilding the whole sailboat they gutted it and now they're just about ready to start rebuilding the inside
Yeah 50’ seems like a lot. I’m sure the chef helps out when going to port. Off camera I was telling him that I love watching sailing videos. Very relaxing
What a beautiful place is the waterfall hot water or cold?
The falls are cold. With the snow run off I’d say freezing cold😂
I went to the marine store to buy some of that crap rope. They must've been sold out because all they had was that cheap crap line.
We're on a cruise leaving Seattle 6/29/24. First port stop is Sitka 7/1/24. Are there any vendors on port that can take us to the Springs from the dock and back?
I have no idea 🤷 sorry
What caliber you carrying 454?
That’s the one. 👍
Snow monkeys (aka macaques)!
Brian. I might have to unsubscribe. You're uncovering far too many adventures in our "backyard" and I have far too many projects (2 cabins?!🤦♂️) to get out to do them. Now I have had to add sailing on Hopscotch and visiting Baranof warm springs to the adventure list! 😁
Ha I don’t blame you. I hope Brendan does come by and take us sailing. That would be cool.
Alaska would be the perfect place for me because I love my outdoors live off the land but my body says no unfortunately I liked manual labor instead of sitting on the machines kind of a big mistake too many years cut and firewood and selling it but Courtney on Vancouver Island is a very nice spot it's just getting too big family has lived here for over 100 years town was very small when I was small much nicer but if had had a good life here very good video as always keep up the good work and take care
100 years is a long time. Your family definitely has roots there. I definitely understand about towns getting bigger. I don’t even like coming to Juneau. To much going nonsense going on.
@@AnAlaskaHomestead My great grandfather used to own probably half of the land in Courtney used to shoot at 3030 right out my mom and Dad's back door And apparently my great grandfather his money family money came from the gold rush trail somewhere on that trail my uncle and them looked for his name on the but they couldn't find it so they were thinking maybe he stole his money who knows long time ago So if you're ever looking at this old time sights on the old rush trail I think it's alaska look for the name Morrison
