Supercritical's YouTube Thing Episode #2 - "Engine Swap"

- Welcome to the grass roots level of the development story of our newest product Redshift 6! We thought you'd be interested to see a more detailed look inside the process. We try to keep it raw and honest. We'll try to make these once in a while.
Today we're getting our hands dirty with engines. No big blocks and hemi engines this time, we're doing oscillators and filters. We developed a way to handle these in the Redshift 6 synthesizer.
The Supercritical Redshift 6 will be available in summer 2024 with an MSRP of 1259€
Preorders open now at supercriticalsynthesizers.com
This is very encouraging. It seems very flexible and the thoughts in the layout seem to be well considered.
I really like the fact that you open up your development process. It might be an advantage to not have to deal with long discussions maybe occuring in larger companies. This transperancy creates trust.
From what I can hear and see it would fit my needs for a synth that integrates well into a band with bass guitar, guitar, vocals and some suvdued percussion loops.
I´d like to see a video where you show us the pages and the navigation.
Thanks for sharing your progress.
It's so refreshing to have something that's not "just another synth"
Saving for a Sequential as well but money might go to Supercritical after all. Been eagerly waiting for some videos and I'm stoked. Didn't expect such depth in the videos; excellent job.
Cool seeing the evolution. Looking forward to its final form.
IDK if the physical design would allow for it , but PWM on the Saw wave would be a great way to exponentially increase the amount of timbre variations !
you are making exactly what i want
Thanks for the great update, interesting stuff in the pipeline
Already have mine ordered, I might end up getting 2 if things go well.
I can't see anywhere on the market a synth @ this price with these features.
Looking forwards to the release.
Thank you, I had a feeling this could be something special and you confirmed all my expectations. The only thing that would be on my wishlist is a comb filter, but if it's not in the cards then I'm still just as hyped as I am now.
I was planning to buy a Prophet 6 or Rev 2…but I might go for this one instead! A modern poly with A LOT of character! Thanks for doing these videos.
It's multitimbral as well in case you're unaware! And the six voices have their own outputs.
Filter is jaw dropping good sounding!
i like tweaking so having the option for more pages to get really detailed would be great for me.
Looks like a synth that's going to bring out of this world sounds. Supercritical unleashed..
I am sure it will be a modern classic, looks amazing
Their demo which show cases a Moog type snort, Moog is nasally, this is throaty, it has gruff and is controlled distortion, I love it.
This thing looks incredible
Nice, Please continue with the updates. It sounds great :)
Super excited to see how this turns out. LOVE the Neutron Flux
Very intriguing, can't wait for that synth!
Sounds are really exciting. Seems like it will be sound design beast, curious how different "zaps" it will make
Wish I could get to superbooth, this looks amazing, and the sounds are superb!
keep up the good work.
Very cool, formant patch sounds lovely, would love to hear sounds from the organ engine
this is something id love to try!
If you're at Superbooth again, welcome to demo and say hi at our booth B046 in Bungalowdorf! Really liked your set at SB2023 btw.
This is awesome man! New subscriber ✌🏻
Will it be able to do a true stereo filter config like the neutron flux?
maybe "true stereo mode" with 3 voices?
😎
Yaaaasss! More excited to pair this with my Virus TI2
it will feature on a banger Bad Gear episode in 2029
Can anyone confirm whether this has a sequencer? It shows a seq/arp button but I cannot find any info.
hope these improvements make it to flux
Where and when its possible buy ?
It will be a few months but they have listed sellers on their site, if you don't have someone local, do what I did and call the guy you buy synths from and see if they can get them in.
Pleassseee Audio through ❤❤❤
Great synth, but the price is prohibitive for a desktop
I was thinking the price is almost unbelievably low considering what you get and the work and resources invested in it, I hope they will have any money left :)
I will not be surprised if it will be ramped up to at least 1.6k$ in the first year
@@jamaharon hahahahaha
Please. No one needs percentage points in a BPM monitor (0:50). BPM in percentage points has meaning only for computers. Just round it. In fact, every significant parameter needs a display, and it should be accurate and delivered in a format that actually has some MIDI/MPE or frequency or dB meaning. Arbitrary percentages and knobs with no numbers for reference are close to useless, and may be worse than useless. Making a fast workflow is great, but sacrificing repeatability or precision to get speed is unnecessary and wrongheaded (yet developers do this way too often). I say these things because you are still developing the instrument.
The sounds are good so far. Don't let "simple" be the enemy of being usable. Usability on the front end should not prevent users from editing and tweaking in technical terms.
