I'm surprised that there actually was depth to the whole "Bushiroad Idol Universe" with having actual themes and character dynamics. Back when all I knew from the show were "jokes" that I didn't find funny in the mid 2010s (Snow Halation and Nico's existence), I didn't really give much attention or effort to figuring out what all the hype was about Love Life (as that's all I knew from Bushiroad). However, helping edit a character study for another Bushiroad property and watching this video surprised me how much heart and soul goes into these works. It sucks that something with so much depth belong to a company that figuratively shoots themselves in the foot with their business decisions, as I'm sure that there is so much more that is possible for them to do. Not the usual one-sentence comment I normally make, but I guess it was an inspirational video to invoke a connection to it, rather than just an enjoyable punchline.
Excellent video, honestly, I loved it. The part where you went and looked through the writing history of LL was genuinely very interesting and it is indeed a very strange situation that may also have to do with some of my personal problems with recent Love Live anime. (Pretty crazy that a One Piece writer has been working on Niji tho). It's also nice to see some great stuff still coming out, like Blaze in the Deepblue and Hasunosora has been an absolute success so far, and also, the retrospective near the end was very sweet. The SIF 2 problem for Bushiroad is also something I didn't know in that detail, damn, talk about a heavy low blow. We'll just have to see how things continue, but this is a great discussion.
Excellent video! I just found out about your channel and I'm just really happy to see another channel that often talks about Love Live. The first highlight of the video for me was finding out the writer situation in Yohanime- no wonder those two episodes especially felt incredibly dull! Then you contrasting Kanon's character between season 1 and 2 perfectly encapsulates what I've been mulling over about Superstar for a while now. Kanon is still my favorite girl from Liella still, but after you laid it out like that... oof, too real. Lastly, by declaring Sunshine as your all-time favorite, you just earned my sub. Because god, same!!! Sunshine was very special to me as well!
To me, that scene I find a bit frustrating because of what it could have been if there was more of a buildup or difference in its writing. If the arc was done in Season 1 rather than dragging the idea out into Season 2, I think it would've fit in perfectly as an additional episode. It always felt a bit weird that Season 1 has 12 Episodes but Season 2 has 13, it could've made a great edition after the Sumire Nonfiction arc like how in Sunshine S1 Riko's episode is followed naturally by You's, giving us two great back to back character episodes. For what it is though, it was a great idea taken in an odd direction (now doesn't that sound familiar lol).
Cardfight Vanguard G, that explains so much. And it wasn't even the later episodes of Cardfight Vanguard G when the anime was actually good. Makes sense why those episodes of GnY were so bad.
It is honestly hard to believe that this criticism towards Superstar is in good faith when things like "Liella" and "Keke" are mispronounced on a scripted video, especially after a supposed rewatch of the show. "The problem is they added more, twice!" Season 3 isn't even out yet, but it is already bad apparently. "Kanon was more relatable in season one, now she is just the leader" Kanon grew and matured during season one and now she is helping others, but bad character writing is when a character changes during the story, I guess. "The whole first years are not as good as second years plot line, terrible, obnoxious, nauseating!" Doesn't even explain why or how it is bad. Let’s ignore the meta-narrative aspect and the fact that, in universe, it wouldn't make sense for the first years to be on the same level than the second years right away. "The emotional built up to the Keke and Sumire episode was completely butch for the two of them taking a backseat to the first years". Sumire knows that Keke must leave if they don't win, and we have been seeing her worrying about since the start of season 2. When they see that the first years are still lagging, Sumire starts to doubt if they can win leading to the events of the rest of the episode. Whaaaaat, you are telling me that they tied an important hanging plot point of season one and made it relevant with the first years thus making them grow closer while also developing the relationship between Keke and Sumire? Wow, what terrible writing this is. I'm not saying Superstar season 2 is perfect, but this just reads as trying to justify the "I wish Liella had stay with only five members" opinion.

Bro I was skimming this video I was not ready for the reveal of the writer at 4:30
“It’s a card game company” hit so hard tho
Blaze in the Deepblue is so funny. Yohane is the first Love Live character with a bodycount.
HUH
@gew_ozzj7463 she kills the enemies in the game. Presumably.
@papersonic9941 ohh... I thought.. oh okay, thanks for elaborating 👍
there is link like Love live 👀
Lol I love Shiki too.
But the Keke and Sumire part I think was pretty good even if it didn’t give it’s potential dues
