De BMW 225xe: een auto die mikt op kopers met een actieve leefstijl en daarmee veel ruimte biedt. De krachtbron bestaat uit een verbrandingsmotor en elektromotor en daarmee is de auto zowel zuinig als krachtig en sportief.

* Zoals u wellicht zult opmerken is de opmaak van onze FULL THROTTLE-video licht gewijzigd. De meelopende balk bovenin het beeld is de daadwerkelijke meting van de acceleratietijden. De tijden tot 50 km/u en 100 km/u zijn rood onderstreept en geven de 'beste-tijd' meting aan die op een ander moment plaats heeft gevonden en zijn dus niet indicatief voor de acceleratie in de video. Let op: de acceleratie in de video kan kortstondige onderbrekingen vertonen i.v.m. het verkeer.

two videos compined that doesn´t fit together - am i the only one who recognized?
This is a strange video. At 0:45 it shows that it's doing 180km/h but it's barely catching up to that truck.
The fuel gauge has dropped so fast.

ta ta it only has a 35L fuel tank to make room for the batteries so this could be a reason it goes down quickly

I don't want to be rude, but, is that a 225xe? I don't see the eboost sign between the sport gauge and the yellow exclamation mark when accelerating... Also In the middle pannel doesn't show the battery level, but that is adjustable. Thanks.
+alxzola Yes it sure is. Indeed you don't see the eboost sign but when you look closely you will see the CHARGE-section in the lower part of the instruments indicating this is a hybrid (the car is also set to its SPORT-mode). Also the battery-level indication is off because the board computer now shows the outside temperature. You can however set it to its battery mode to show the battery level.
+alxzola Hi there! To come back to your question. The review will be coming online soon and you were right, this video didn't show both the battery level and eboost sign. But if you watch our review you will see both appearing when the car is in a different setting. It probably also has to do with the amount of battery charge, when it's low it can't use (the extra) eboost. Thanks for your question.
The time from 150 to 200 Km/h is very disappointing. Could this be due to the fact that the battery level was low, and so the eboost did not kick in?
We have no idea.
Dear +Apex Auto Magazine (and +scherer42). As far as I was able to understand (and questioning BMW engineers) the electric engine on 225xe (the same used on the i8) has only a fixed gear, that way, it completly "stops" doing anything above 125km/h (the i8 uses a second gear on the electronic engine so it is able to help the combustion engine above 125km/h, or the 330e, where the electronic engine is coupled in the gearbox so it helps on all speeds).
In other words, this car only has the mentioned torque, horsepower, and all wheel drive until it reaches 125km/h. Above that, it is a "simple" FWD 136hp car. That's why you can see it quickly go up to 125km/h and after that it struggles to go faster.
sorry, but looking at the things its going past, the speed seems more like 50mph !!
the white markers on the far right are 50 meters apart. He passes each of them within little bit less than second indicating his traveling speed is between 50 to 55 m/sec or 180 to 198 km/h (112 and 123 mph).
