    Just recently I've discovered the slow, deliberate, methodical movements of the Pattern flyers. I actually really like it. I have changed my mindset, to fly much slower now. Also gives me longer flight times. Great video.

    Awesome video - I just started RC flying this year and was immediately drawn to 3D flying. I love to grind on drills and this vid was exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for making it 8 years ago :-)

    Yes, fantastic advice Wamsy. I see all kinds of people go to the field, and just throw the sticks in the corners with the CG 4 inches back from where it should be. Learning to fly precisely and smoothly is very important to learn. Thanks for the video!

    thanks a lot Wamsy. I will be taking your words to heart. And even doubly so since I'm just learning the smooth maneuvers you're talking about 4pt roll and (eventually) 8 point roll.

    I know this was produced years ago I find it very informative. The speaker was excellent in his presentation.

    I'm grounded due to the lockdown in France, so your video gave me some inspiration about what to do when I will fly again ! thank you for sharing your experience .

    Flown at ten years and smoothness and high altitude is my style.It,s some recently posted on insta under my name .I just push in "pulses"on the sticks.Small moves all the time, but not so into inverted etc.

    Wamsy, Great series of videos. I'm 49 and recently back into the hobby after about 15 years away from it. Sold all the nitro and am all electric now. Have a TH 32" Edge for yard practice, a Tech One 1100 EPP Yak 54 (great foamie trainer, flies like a heavier balsa plane) and an Art Tech Yak 54 (OK foamie but took loads of tweaking to get it to perform well). Waiting to get first balsa 3DHS 48"Edge (can't wait!). Oh, best investment- Real Flight 6 sim! Vids and slo mo outstanding! Thanks

    Great video, Very good points. Pointed out some things i wasn't even really aware i do but your right. I work hard on slow rolls all the time and simple stuff especially with a new plane. To me there's nothing as awesome as a well executed slow roll all the way down the runway without any deviation. Nice Job!

    thanks for this video. it seems like an awkward topic,and really you exactly hit the bread and butter skills of our hobby. flew out at the field after practicing these ideas and skills from some of your other video tutorials and at the end of one of my flights my club members gave me a round of applause as i was landing my fms extra 300 foamie. What a great reward for flying smooth. thanks wamsy and hello from brisbane Australia, the sunshine state.

    Also spend the time to properly trim your plane. Not just the standard,straight level flight.

    Depends one what I am practicing.
    For pure precision flight, the Osiris is the way to go. For a mix of precision and 3D, a 3DHS Slick or Extra is what I use.
    Coupling is more airframe specific. All the 3DHS airplanes have no coupling if setup properly.

    Thank you for your tutorials. I think they are great and will give me far better start as I would not have without them
    I am just starting my RC adventure and have already fell in love in acrobatics! I am plannin to buy one, with a budget around 300USD. What would be your recommendation, considering that I will not be able to change it after a couple of weeks ? :)

      Asbjørn Johannessen. Ha ha. If I am by myself at the field and could do all the maneuvers, no matter how ugly, I am happy. Yeah, still learning and might as well learn smooth.

    Smooth is definitely the way to go, I never realized how difficult it is. I know what I need to practice now. It's much harder than it looks to do that 45 climb, to inverted, then circling down to a parallel flyby. Then doing it again, and again, and again while trying to make it smooth each time. I just got Phoenix 3.0 and upgraded it to 4.0.s. Have they worked out all the issues with the version 5 update's yet or should I just stay with 4.0.s? Great video!!

  • @a99terren99
    @a99terren99 12 років тому

    Ditto, love the videos!!! I'm 43 and haven't flown in >20 years. I flew pattern back then and get the smooth part but am fascinated, and challenged, but the 3D.
    Do you fly both mode 1 and 2? I learned mode 1 but am trying to switch to mode 2 because I'm convinced that heli is not possible mode 1 and I'm having real trouble with 4 points with mode 2. It was soooo much easier to keep the role rates and heading true on mode 1.

    What simulator are you using? I've never used a simulator. I own 24 planes but, unfortunately, I live in Wisconsin and winter time is sorta no fly time. I like the looks of this sim. I've been thinking about buying one for winter flying but they're all so bloody expensive.

    Hi I having being flying for all most 2 years.
    Got very good at hoovering and nirmal harriers.
    When coming to inverrted harriers my plane keeps on stalling.
    I am using a 2.0 version of phonix would you recommend me to buy real flight 6.5 version.
    Do you think it would make a good difference

    Hi Wamsy
    Are you changing rates for smooth flying or do you fly with loads of expo?

    • @jeffs7915
      @jeffs7915 Рік тому

      You use the same hands and fingers for each rates. Your sensitivity around stick center is pretty much the same, consider the value in using the same expo at all rates.
