    This video guide is the 1st part of our 2 part series about all the information for your first quality starter kit.
    Welcome back to Airsoft Bootcamp Maggot!
    So, if you're convinced to make Airsoft into a hobby of yours, then the next decision is getting your first gear.
    If you're spending money, you better spend it good, right from the start. A lot of guys (including us back in the day) don't know where to spend their earnings when they enter the sport.
    And since it is an expensive sport, this quickly leads to bad buys. So, we decided to bring you the correct info to get you immediately started with a good basic loadout that will last you years to come.
    This video will cover all the basic safety equipment (called PPEs) as well as a slight touch towards the Airsoft gun itself and the things that come along with it. Along the way we'll also show you our personal recommended products.

    I Remember 60 years ago we had Daisy pump BB gun fights at the lumber yard when we were around 10 to 12 years old. Now I am 74 looking at air soft wars - Fantastic. Keep playing until you drop dead. Sharing is the best way to keep the hobby alive - and growing. I loved spear guns. I shot a 28 pound Ling cod at 50 foot depth on scuba. And I do have an underwater spear gun that can stop the creature from the black lagoon. P.S the ocean is turning black, thanks to human Greed. And don’t shoot any dogs eye out - not even cheaters.

    True,most starter kits are over 100 dollars the better the quality of the items the better your first experience is don't expect to find a starter kit under 100 dollars and have amazing quality or items,and don't buy a whole bunch of stuff for your first experience because you never know, you might not like airsoft battles

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  4 роки тому +2

      Exactly, we always recommend to first try airsoft with a rental so you don't have to buy everything and then realize you don't like it. However if someone is dedicated to start the sport for real they better invest in all the mentioned equipment. I Instinct

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  3 роки тому +3

      Not necessarily, we use assault platforms but only shoot semi. You can actually shoot much more precise and efficient when shooting semi than full-auto. Trained professional units also rarely use full-auto unless they're handling a SAW or something similar. | Viper

    Have you guys thought of any way for protection? At first, I thought about duck-Taping cardboard on the crotch area of my camo, but I’m starting to think I should just wear a cup.

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  4 роки тому +1

      Never been shot in the crotch in our 5 years of doing this. It's also a very unlikely thing to happen. I wouldn't go that far as for protection, good solid pants will take most of the shot its energy anyway. Safety is important, but it may not affect your performance too much. I Viper

    newb question,
    I want to get into airsoft but ever since I've seen GBBs are a thing, I haven't really seen the appeal of an AEG for myself anymore. The added recoil and realism of the GBBs is just so much more interesting to me, to the point where I think I would just end up getting bored immediately by an AEG.
    I would be prepared for the additional cost and more difficult maintenance once I do get my own gun (I will probably try it with rentals first if I can manage) but I am still not sure just how bad this idea is, and I would love some input from more experienced airsofters. Am I completely nuts or is it actually possible to start out with a gas gun as a newbie, if I am prepared to face the additional challenges that might bring.

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  Рік тому

      Look, in the end it is all about what you want to do with airsoft and how you want to enjoy it. If you feel like a GBBR is more your thing then it will highly likely be your thing too. This is just a general guide that works for like 90% of the beginners that usually have not a single clue what they're getting into. If you're dedicated to put in some extra effort, learn and have the commitment to maintain your stuff you should definitely go for it. Rather this than not being happy (and losing money) on something you don't like.

      If you can afford the upfront investment it's not too bad. Check out "Cheap GBBRs, are they worth it?" by Ollie Talks Airsoft, he has some good insight on starting the gbbr route.

    No, don't recommend G&G M4, they always have a lot of propriety solutions that make upgrading unnecessarily hard. Never been impressed when upgrading their gearboxes either and their hop and barrels are mjeh at best. And their standard motor is a real stinker.
    The only part from G&G I want to have in my aegs is the green rubber, that is really good.
    Personally I wouldn't recommend a specific brand as every manufacturer comes out with new products all the time, or a specific price range as some cheaper guns are pretty good, and some expensive ones is pure shit. I would recommend looking at reviews and teching videos of a gun you're interested in to try to see if it's any good.
    Just my two cents...

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  4 роки тому +1

      You're right man, it is true that brands have various quality levels. Which makes it hard to recommend one. We're personally not a fan of the lower range brands at all so we took the advice on this one from our partner store. We did test it and it did performed as we would expect for its price level and we saw a lot of others do worse. So that's the short version of why we recommended this one back then for people who don't want to spend a lot to start of with. I Instinct

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  3 роки тому +1

      Specna Arms are supposedly decent AEGs, but this may also depend on the specific model you're going for. My brother his first AEG was a Specna Arms and we got nothing but issues with it, but that's a few years back already. Best advice I can give you is to thoroughly search for reviews. I Viper
