Savitri apologises to Suryakant for disobeying his orders for the first time. He admires her for forgiving the one who had wronged her all her life. Suryakant then apologises to her for his mistakes in the past. On the other hand, Lakshmi is worried that her sisters may reveal the truth about Karan's mother to her father. Karan promises that Suryakant and her family's damnation were near! On the festive day of `Diwali', Lakshmi seeks Chandralekha's blessings. Karan gives Lakshmi an expensive gift for `Diwali' and gifts his sisters-in-law as well. Karan asks Lakshmi to wish her father for Diwali, or she may never get the chance later. Lakshmi wonders what Karan will do today and decides that she must somehow stop him. Savitri tells Suryakant that they must visit Lakshmi as it was her first `Diwali' after her marriage. Halki pleads with Hasmukh to accept his daughter at least on the festive occasion, so he retorts that girls are a curse, a burden to the parents because that's exactly what she had told Savitri when she had given birth to daughters. Halki tells Savitri how she had taunted her about begetting daughters, and says that she realises Savitri's pain now. Halki apologises to Savitri. Hasmukh tells the family that it was a charade he had put on to teach Halki a lesson. Meanwhile, when Yuvraj learns that it is `Diwali', he misses his family but decides to make it special for Pavitra and him. Pavitra asks him not to spend so much money on the decorations and suggests that one of the helpers could perform the religious ceremony. However, an irritated Yuvraj does not heed her and asks her to at least come for the prayers to be held in office.
