    You can’t walk past a tourist shop in Edinburgh, Scotland, without hearing _Last Of The Mohicans_ being blasted out on the bagpipes. I hear it every day and I still bloody love it. ❤️

      I agree, i think the impact of traditional and tribal music is very similar to modern electronic trance music, especially if there's no singing involved, only music. They both take you to another world just with the rhythm, melodies, instruments and/or electronic sounds. Music without singing is more intense because you get to create your own world, and you forget the music is made by a human, it feels otherworldly.

    My dad remembers seeing this in cinemas with my mom. She was pregnant with my sister and rather hormonal, and was rather taken with Daniel Day-Lewis. When he is yelling to Cora "I will find you!" my mom blurted out to the screen "Okay!" in a flustered breathless voice and the whole theatre burst out laughing.
    20+ years on and no one lets her live it down XD

    I live in Pennsylvania, in the SW where the Whiskey rebellion happened, where a young George Washington watched Tennicarison murder a group of French Surveyors, which promoted the French and Indian War (Seven Years War). Where General Braddock lay in a grave along a road. I grew up in the midst of where history happened. My ancestors were here at that time, settling the frontier. This is my favorite song and always moves me tremendously when I think about this movie and think about what life was like for those very brave souls in this very wild and rough place.❤

You put that to music that touches the heart and you can bring about all kinds of responses. It's called being human. I really enjoyed the movie but the music brought it all together. Magnificent! I'm taken back to the beautiful Highlands and the Royal Deeside. Then again to my family's Cooper roots to upper New England and the real setting for the "Last of the Mohicans." It's in our blood. however, as we've become North Carolinians in the mid 1900's, we are familiar with the film settings for the wonderful movie! As descendants of James Fennimore Cooper & proud Native Americans, we are happy and celebrate this marvelous film and explicit documentary of our people, both "Indian" and Gael. The musical score reaches deep into our hearts. Beatrice Blacklock Cooper Kelly.

    • @ellenhilts-gossett4108
      @ellenhilts-gossett4108 9 років тому +2

      ***** There are a few basic historical bits you've left out. First of all, the most serious "slaughtering" of Native Americans began long before the American Revolution, when Europeans brought their poxy bodies over usually to trap fur that didn't belong to them in exchange for cheap glitter and whole tribes were decimated by disease. As opposed to Latin American natives, there are more native North Americans now than there were in the early 17th century; that cannot be said of the Spanish and Portuguese influence. Finally, to try and explain to you the mindset of the natives of the U.S., in their most prestigious and public selves displayed at powwows they carry the American flag not because they have to but because they KNOW where they come from and they are proud of it.

    The entire class suggested different movies and when I got my turn to say,I told my teacher," A month ago ,my mom and dad rented a movie that when they picked me up from school,they told me not to do any homework until I saw this movie. After I saw it, this movie blew my mind."
    The teacher asked,"what's this movie?
    I replied,"The Last of the Mohicans"
    Every student stood up and shouted,"YES,That One!!!"
