About to switch mine as well from a rough country lift to the mcgaughys . Did you see a huge difference in hit? What about the drive?
I had the vertex shocks with my rough country which rode great. McGaughy’s drive about the same

You should NOT shim the axle. The u joint at the trans and the diff should be the same angle. The pinion shims are so the driveshaft yoke doesent pull out as far.

Ask Denny diesel about that Check engine light he had that problem when he was tuning his but he said it wasn’t the tuning but something with the plugs where the dpf was and with the def tank

No! Overkill there. He's doing the tow hooks which is enough.
The service DEF message is because your mirrors are off. The ambient air temp sensor is in the mirrors, so you get that message when they’re disconected
