    You have to respect a person enough to forgive them. Once the person hurts me, they lose respect. Once the respect is gone, that person means nothing to me and once you mean nothing, there is no need to forgive

    wow man, this was pretty awesome. I asked someone for forgiveness and felt I was rejected not understood. I can understand her not talking to me, but it really was a two way street, and just like you said, I genuinely was trying not to do harm. my actions were genuine, but too late. I forgive her because I was really the one that did the greater harm, but I also realized that I had not forgiven myself. Even as I write this I still have not, but your words really hit home. thank you.

    Hi Robin. Thank you so much for your most powerful and valuable mastery sessions. I'm in the 5 am club. Best thing that could happen to me. 🙂Here is my opinion on this and I would like to speak out my truth. Let's dive deeper. In the ego driven sight you're right, but there is a way more efficient way to do that. The only thing I have to do is to forgive myself (I speak for all of us), because everything as you said is projection. Everything starts and ends by myself. Meaning. I have to fix everything in my spirit/mind and I can change everything there. Only there. What I see in the outer world is within me. Isn't it great? I can create a lovely world and do the inner work. 🙏🏼

    Thank you for your insights Robin. This topic is important to me, because the ability to understand and then forgive frees you to live in the moment (as opposed to the past) -you described this sentiment. I tend to jump to judging and putting people in mental boxes (bad, cheap, selfish) to further affirm my views and values. In that sense, I often collect experiences solely as symbols of proof to My reality. This is misguided and a practice in closed-mindedness.
    I feel the understanding/empathising with a person insight you raised, may have been incomplete. I am not satisfied in your call for understanding over my need to judge. It needs a stronger why. I appreciate that you took great care to emphasise that people operate within their own reality. The why may be found within the concept of vicious circles. The phenomenon of judging is set up to protect a certain fixed view on life. It seems to try to quiet the fear that this other person is able to operate in reality with a slightly more rascally system of morals. But that other person judged someone else that cheated him or her of their money just the morning before, and he or she remained further set in his or her ways. Practice understanding and not judging, because otherwise you are practicing and letting into your life, an ocean of standards that you and every one you encounter cannot abide by in the ever-changing environment that is our reality.
    In essence, forgiving is an act of power: it expresses your acknowledgement of the wrong as well your taking ownership of your reality, no matter the outcome. It is an venture into the unafraid.

    You can still move on in life and just do fine without forgiving the people who have hurt you. You don’t have to forgive. Forgiveness makes you weak. I just don’t get why people have this concept of forgiveness.
    You can still move and maybe even do better without forgiving certain people who have hurt you in the past

  • @pfarthing6966
    @pfarthing6966 8 років тому +2

    I love a lot of your stuff Robin but in this I don't agree a,d it's an outmoded way of approaching abuse. They now recommend It's okay to say "they didn't do the best they could, they were selfish, abusive etc and I'm entitled to not forgive them and feel unhappy angry etc" then realise with that person/people you won't get understanding or an apology and mourn what was lost to you, close it, don't bring it up, and move on. So often the victims are told they need to forgive or they remain a victim, but forcing this on those abused just reformers they were not entitled to feel the way the felt and really it's all in their head - which is how the abuser made them feel. No, you are entitled to stand up for your reality, see it for what it was, what they were, and then move on. Some things are unforgivable and that's okay and moving through and moving on dosnt require forgiveness.
