Not really dude, I didn't want to bore the world with going over the collaborative process again - everyone knows about that, but I've not really showed off the prototype before.

So I assume you mean you went through the collaborative process then gave the luthier the spec you wanted and he/she turned the design into the prototype?
Richard Gething In a way, yes. After that prototype was made, the guitar was sent to Korea to be scanned to make the final version of the ML-2

You are to be congratulated for all the really good bits on the ML2 at a reasonable price and best value out there.. but some of us would pay for a more upscale model.
Ambers very pretty n nice sounding =) & thanks for the explination on how the ML-2 came to be. I was always curious how things got from "hey cap, lets make our own line of guitars!!" to the actual guitars. =)

No falling out, I just don't want to confuse our two brands since Jaden has his own guitar company!

Work experience at a company with no office and basically one employee? Seems legit
That "one employee" runs a highly successful guitar company which grew at a ridiculously fast pace. Rob isn't even considered an employee if you think about it, more of the boss of the entire thing. The factory workers in Korea who are manufacturing the guitars are the employees. His flat can also be considered his office because that's where he does all of his stuff.

I still think the reverse Tele headstock would look wicked on the ML-2. The current headstock is so last century, so conformistic (is that a word!?)...

Is there any possibility of getting a 22 fret version of the ML-2? I personally think 24 is too much especially for a singlecut style. It would be perfect for me.
can u explain 'nut ring' from a brass nut? if a fretted note doesn't ring in a bad way, why would a brass nut? a bone or composite nut doesn't sound the same as a fretted note which is why folks use them. i'd think the strings that go through the bridge and into the tuners would have more ringing than the nut. i can only assume u are talking about recording and needing to stop the ringing but maybe it's audible when ur just playing, i hope u can clear this up for me. thanks, b.
I have a Chinese original generation ML-2 and I have a Korean production ML-2. I gotta say the new ones are really nice, but the original is to this day the finest guitar I've ever played and I am honored to own it.

I've been playing guitar for over 17 years, been in many bands, in two now, toured the UK, Europe and Scandinavia countless times, heading off to Japan in November 2014 for recording session work... And I'd just like to point out, inlays are not just for beginners with regards to references, I still use them and they're most helpful during low light etc. They might be subjective to some, but generally (and respectfully) it's bullshit to think beginners only use them for references since Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers, Steve Harris, Jimmy Page, Slash, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Mark Knopfler, Angus Young, Brian 'Head' Welch, James 'Munky' Shaffer and the like clearly look (or looked) at where they are on the fret board by using the inlays as references.
Rob, have you ever thought about doing a model with more of a vintage vibe? maybe something with a pickguard, stop-bar tailpiece instead of string-through (or a bigsby would be ultra cool) and maybe some P-90s, or even mini-humbuckers. i think it would really broaden the market for chapman guitars if you had an option that appealed more to players of blues/country/rockabilly/ect, instead of only appealing to rock and metal players. Just a thought to consider!

ml2 origin.. well first for nearly 7 decades there was this awesome guitar called the les paul by gibson in america. then i decided to rip off the design, and now you get the ml2 much cheaper not only in price but feel materials construction and over all quality suffer. I cant believe people buy these thing when gibson is alive and well.

no... its my most recent guitar and I've been playing for 8 years.
its took me all 8 years trying many different guitars to find the perfect one for my sound and playing and this is it, i believe its better than any gibson no matter what price or quality personally, but i also prefer new companies over old anyways.
