I like how they added Garp looking a little sad after throwing Kuzan. He just said you’re weak if you waver but immediately after looks like he didn’t really want to fight. He also sounded hurt when telling Kuzan to come back to the navy
He wavered at Marineford too when he was willing to help Ace if he simply asked him for it. He also often says how he’s “off his game” or just not as good as he used to be. Its clear that he does not view himself to be the person everyone else sees him as anymore. It actually makes me kinda sad :(
"Punching with Love" is Garp's main thing.
He's using this fight as a way to teach Kuzan while he still has the power to do it. Passing the torch kind of theme I think.

The subtle message in the match. The Irony, Garp said those who waver are weak but if you look closely Garp closes his eyes before throwing Kuzan. You can clearly see the sympathy/empathy in Garp's face after that throw, and Kuzan noticed it.

Don’t act like he clearly didn’t have a bias towards Rayleigh because he was part of Roger’s crew, he never downplayed Rayleigh in any of his streams the way he did Garp until he was proven wrong when we saw Garp was in fact still him.
