this is not something i hate BUT I LOVE CROWNS SM. ur coord is literally the cutest coord i’ve ever seen, the dress is so cute and its such a good balance of hime, sweet, and classic
Hullo, I may not wear Lolita (yet) but one thing I don't like about Lolita is some if the ott sock/tight prints you see that make it look like socks over your tights or just have a lot of everything printed on. I much more enjoy my socks n stuff to be simple if I ever wear something that fancy on top.
I'm an old school lolita and we agree on the split wigs, shaggy/hermione wigs, shiny fabric, paying full price for brand bags, plushy bags and plushies (yes even usakumya. I might make the usakumya from one of the early glbs but wearing him outside is kinda eh) and brown in sweet lolita. I also dislike those socks that come up halfway the lower leg (I don't know what that length is called but I think it's hideous), luckily I rarely see them. I prefer ankle socks, UTKs and OTKs. I would also never buy stuff with a food print/motif or stuff with a cross/religious print/motif. I love properly fitting cotton bloomers but would never buy them. They're easy to make and you can custom size them so your thighs aren't touching. I don't think wearing bloomers should be mandatory though. I just love them. I also love cotton blouses (love poplin material), I try not to care about slightly mismatching blacks or whites or pinks or blues but salmon with pink would be a no go for me. People can be as ita as they like (I was an ita in 2003), I don't care, they'll figure it out. I love my glasses with certain outfits, I love old school and classic bonnets (dislike half bonnets). I went on hiatus between 2008 and the end of 2017 so I missed the deer makeup, the deer horns, peignoirs, the underskirt trend, the giant round glasses trend and probably a lot more. I would love to see some kind of video documenting lolita trends.
We agree on a lot of things! 😁 I do love the look of bloomers, and the look of bonnets too but it’s just not something I want to invest my money in - chub rub shorts all the way! 🤣 I haven’t seen those half way socks before 🤔 but it does sound odd. A lot of the earlier trends I never got on because I didn’t have much lolita in my wardrobe at the time. I was a student and wasn’t working so I didn’t have the income to get anything other than Bodyline and at the time I was more into Gyaru but I do remember it being a big trend! Thanks so much for the idea, I’ll defo look into some lolita trends to cover next time :)
@@jimmehsullivan123 I've only seen those halfway socks from taobao brands, or when someone bought bodyline UTKs but they didn't stay up or never reached to UTK level. I always loved flipping through gyaru magazines and watching gyaru content on youtube but never considered it something that I wanted to wear myself. My soul craves old school frumpy-ness and not showing much skin. I look forward to you covering some past trends in lolita fashion. But you don't have to so don't feel pressured.
@@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 I think I know the socks that you mean, I think I have a pair but where my legs are short I can stretch them to under the knee. They’re like lacey socks with a heart print. Yeah gyaru is a hard one, the fashion part is easy but the hair and make up takes a lot of practise that I feel it’s one of those styles you can’t just dip in and out of. I used to have my hair light brown/ginger and I bleached my eyebrows so that everything I wore could look gal. Also my brows were plucked to a certain shape but now I just want to do gyaru whenever I feel like it but it’s a big commitment to completely change my brows as I wear other fashion now. I can stick on a wig but I really feel the light brows complete the make up look and the nose contouring blends into the eyebrows. Even with lolita, I can still be Gyaru which is cool but I know what you mean about admiring styles. I always loved visual and oshare kei but it was a more masculine style and I just didn’t see it suiting me personally. I love dresses too much haha
@@jimmehsullivan123 yes, exactly those heart print ones! The reasons why I don't see myself in gyaru (and also don't really want to) is the way my body looks (especially upper legs, face, arms) and not feeling comfortable showing those things. I also love some other style more. What I love about gyaru is the freedom and the joy and the overal vibe. I liked just being an admirer, not a participant. If I thought gyaru suited me and felt comfortable in it I think I could commit to the makeup and eyebrow routine.
I bend down to get things the same way, but I have to cause I have metal rods screwed to my spine lol. I can bend at the waist, but I'm not very flexible spine wise so it's just easier to squat more than bend.
I‘m new to wearing Lolita fashion and the one things that personally annoys me is shoes. I have small feet and buying shoes in general ist a nightmare, and I thought buying Lolita shoes might be easier but nope. So now I’m struggling with finding shoes that fit Lolita and don’t look to much as kids shoes ( which they are bc of the size)
Aw really? What size are you as I have small feet too and I’m a half size. I’m a UK 2.5 and I always buy my shoes from AliExpress and they have to have straps over the foot and ankle so that it feels secure. I use insoles with them as well as my feet are thin. Honestly I feel you! If you measure the heel of your foot to your big toe in cm, you can shop on AliExpress via centimetres. So for example mine is 22.5cm and it makes it much easier to figure out whether it will fit me properly or not. I hope that helps!
It’s not really the fabric I don’t like (I don’t like the fabric on cheaper blouses because of how they feel) but I generally don’t really like the look of cotton blouses either. It looks good with old school but I prefer more flowy fabrics :)
Yeah all the Ap bags are just sh***. Sweet but trash. I own a baby and innocent bag where i can fit even another pair of shoes in it! Love them! Nice video! P.s i love chocolate prints hihi ;) chocolate bears for the win
i don't especially like usakumya or kumakumya either because i don't feel any sort of emotional connection to them. the old design usakuma is a bit more appealing to me because it's old (i love old stuff) and scruffy looking, but even if it miraculously showed up for sale at an affordable price, i would still feel it's a waste of money to purchase if it can't hold anything. i'd rather search for a vintage character goods bag that can hold stuff, like sanrio or something. and the peeling brand bags thing, i bought a secondhand pleather brand bag once and never again. the plastic will always peel eventually (as far as i know), so i think it's better to get a secondhand real leather bag which won't peel, or some other material that's not plastic attached to fabric.
Yeah it’s defiantly worth investing in a good bag. It’s just annoying that I like to have the same bag in all different colours lol. Could never settle on a few 🙈. I’m too much of a maximalist haha. I’ve never seen the old design usakumya :o
@@jimmehsullivan123 you can find some photos of old usakumyas on lolibrary if you search up 'usakuma,' and there are also some photos in the first few glbs, and a sewing pattern for the oldest design in (i think) #3, if you want to check it out. it's interesting to see how the design changes over time ^^
I mostly agree but.. I need my cotton blouses, I make them so I think that's why they look better than some brand's ones.. They are supper comfy and they don't irritate my skin like poliester, also I sweat way less with cotton. I do like one pieces but mostly if they have short sleeves as you can put a blouse in a old school way. Finally.. I LOVE BONNETS I feel so elegant with them.
Don't have to much of an option on what I like or don't like yet really but I am trying to avoid buying polyester and other synthetic material blouses cause I don't really like that they create more microplastic eatch time you wash them, it's a problem with dresses to but they will usually be watched a lot less then a blouse/shirt will, Also pu leather bags and shoes, don't like the idea of wean they are unusble they won't disepair until a couple of hundred years
i also don't like cotton blouses! i feel like that's a really unpopular opinion lol. i just prefer the modern look of crepe/chiffon blouses, i think they're a lot more pretty personally. i like the drape-y and flowy look of them compared to the stiff look of cotton blouses.
I feel like they are for different styles tho. I feel like cotton blouse goes better with some of the classic styles/give an antique vibe/doll-like vibe
I like bloomers because they protect my legs from my stiff petti, and I hate having things tightly fitted around my crotch. It’s just constant wedgies and pulling and riding up, I don’t have to worry about that with bloomers
I’m a historical nerd and a Classical Lolita and bloomers bug me. That’s not how their supposed to look buddy. They’re supposed to be split so you could take a piss. 💀💀💀 I understand though. Lolita dresses are much shorter than the dresses back then so they could actually get away with that but Gods does it bug me.
I love brown in sweet lolita so much- It makes it way easier to fit chocolate or biscuits motifs (my absolute favorites with bunnies)
But to each their own! This shade of yellow fits you so well paired with that blue belt, you look beautiful!
I think because I don’t really wear baked good prints so I don’t use brown in my sweet lolita :’)

I haven’t seen those half way socks before 🤔 but it does sound odd.
I think it makes more sense to move the whole body down anyways, much better for the back!
Yaaaaay I’m so happy to see your back making videos 😍
Thank you! I’m happy to be back, I’ve had some more free time and motivation to get back into it :) 💕💕
"there's an element of derp" I'm dying
I had to say it 😂
I‘m new to wearing Lolita fashion and the one things that personally annoys me is shoes.
Try Glittertale cotton blouses. You may change your mind
It’s not really the fabric I don’t like (I don’t like the fabric on cheaper blouses because of how they feel) but I generally don’t really like the look of cotton blouses either. It looks good with old school but I prefer more flowy fabrics :)
You said all the things I love the most in Lolita xd
Looool see everyone has such varied taste :P
Yeah all the Ap bags are just sh***. Sweet but trash. I own a baby and innocent bag where i can fit even another pair of shoes in it! Love them!
Nice video!
P.s i love chocolate prints hihi ;) chocolate bears for the win
I know, so adorable but so terrible 😭😭!!
i don't especially like usakumya or kumakumya either because i don't feel any sort of emotional connection to them. the old design usakuma is a bit more appealing to me because it's old (i love old stuff) and scruffy looking, but even if it miraculously showed up for sale at an affordable price, i would still feel it's a waste of money to purchase if it can't hold anything. i'd rather search for a vintage character goods bag that can hold stuff, like sanrio or something. and the peeling brand bags thing, i bought a secondhand pleather brand bag once and never again. the plastic will always peel eventually (as far as i know), so i think it's better to get a secondhand real leather bag which won't peel, or some other material that's not plastic attached to fabric.
Oh right in the feels 🤣🤣 I'm a dedicated chocolate lolita lmao
Haha well more chocolate prints for you! I won’t be snatching away any prints on lace market :P
If you're doing guro or like circus inspired lolita I can understand the split wig. But outside of that, I get the preference
Oh yeah definitely! I think split looks good for guro and circus as they’re a little more alternative within lolita.
Don't have to much of an option on what I like or don't like yet really but I am trying to avoid buying polyester and other synthetic material blouses cause I don't really like that they create more microplastic eatch time you wash them, it's a problem with dresses to but they will usually be watched a lot less then a blouse/shirt will,
Also pu leather bags and shoes, don't like the idea of wean they are unusble they won't disepair until a couple of hundred years
Oh I love your coord in this video 😀
Thank you!
About the cotton blouses: I love the cool-tempwise crisp cotton feel, so I am gonna have to disagree with you there.
Yeah that’s understandable! When it’s hot in the UK I just don’t wear blouses at all so I don’t find the need for cotton ones :)
i also don't like cotton blouses! i feel like that's a really unpopular opinion lol. i just prefer the modern look of crepe/chiffon blouses, i think they're a lot more pretty personally. i like the drape-y and flowy look of them compared to the stiff look of cotton blouses.
Yes I totally agree with you! They feel so stiff and chiffon is so much more flowy and cute 💕
That’s fair! I prefer having the chub rub shorts that I normally wear under my Petti and they feel much more comfortable for me :)
Okay, I get the bonnet thing, even if I love them, but don't bring that bunny monstrosity up, oh my gosh its so stupid /j
Hahahaah I had to use it to reiterate how I feel in bonnets, even though there are some beautiful ones out there!
i’m sorry i’ve wanted to say this for a while but i really dislike those rocking horse shoes.
I think they look cute, but they look awkward to walk in! I’ve never owned a pair myself because they don’t look that comfortable
@@jimmehsullivan123 they would be cuter without the dent in the front and the ballet slipper material imo.
@@westvirginiascoolestcanadian they also have this piece of wood missing from the back too, I never understood why
I’m a historical nerd and a Classical Lolita and bloomers bug me. That’s not how their supposed to look buddy. They’re supposed to be split so you could take a piss. 💀💀💀
I understand though. Lolita dresses are much shorter than the dresses back then so they could actually get away with that but Gods does it bug me.
Haha I guess since lolita dresses are shorter there might be a case of flashing. Would be great if they were split though, much easier to pee 👌
You look like Anastasia
Yay! That’s what I was going for :D
