if its a regularity you will have a time per section for example on the time card everybody will be supplied with car 0 target time to each time control. so if car 0 sets off at 23.00hrs and you are car 5 your target time at that start control would ge 23.05. your first section says its 4 minutes but the section is timed to the second. so your target time would be 23.09 and so on and so on. the difficult part is if you have dropped time, so dropped time is basically being late. so for example your target time is 23.09 but you get there at 23.09 and 38 seconds. your next section is 4 minutes, your target time now would be 23.13 and 38 seconds. you cannot go into that next time control before that time because you will incur early booking penalties. if you get their late again then you carry that lateness all tne way through until you get to petrol (halfway) where they would have whats called time recovery. time recovery would then allow you to restart 5 minutes after car 0 as your car number 5. jogularity timing is another issue again. you wouldnt get a plotted map but pictures of landmark turnings and distance so for example you would get a picture of an arrow to turn left at 1.2 miles so driver would have to watch the speedo, then it might say you have a minute to get there and you wont know if there will be a passage, code board or a clock control at that location so its important to be on time. if your late then you can make that up at the next landmark where again might be a clock so its important to be on time
