I can plan a WHOLE vacation itinerary to Singapore around his videos. This is my favorite video to date...and the videos keep me in a sweet state of mind...it's therapy for me while daydreaming if I'll ever get to travel abroad in the future.
Thank you so much for Dhoby Ghaut! Used to stay in a hotel near there every time I visited Singapore. That's why spent a lot of time in this area. Don't have any special memorable moments which I can share except buying nice things, meeting lovely people or trying delicious snacks in Plaza Singapura:) But anyway I really enjoyed the time.
Haha. I am trying to remember what hotels are nearby. Was it Concorde Hotel (4 star) or Hotel Supreme (3 star)? Yeah I actually like to hang out at the basement of Plaza Sing to eat all the snacks if I am in the area 😄 Favourite past time

Yeah its got some interesting stores over there. Hope the businesses inside survive these tough times. Many of the shops were actually shuttered when I visited earlier

I used to walk from Plaza Singapura all the way to ION Orchard to feel the vibrant mood around the famous Orchard Road. But seeing this video makes me want to walk to the opposite direction to Selegie and Prinsep Road. Wish I had more time to explore soon.

Yeah. Long, long ago I would go to Parklane to play billiard. I suck at the game but I will always pretend I was like a pro and use all the skills to "show off" 🤣

Hanya karena pandemi kedua anak saya yg masih tinggal di sana , saat liburan desember 2019 , pulang ke indonesia , dan ternyata pandemi covid 19 ini yg membuat hingga saat ini kedua anak saya belum bisa kembali ke singapore lg. Sayang nya di video kali ini , tdk di explore dari plaza singapura ada underpass ke istana park dan ke arah chicago university yg bangunan nya seperti vihara yg berdekatan dgn vision crest dan park mall yg baru bbrp tahun lalu di renovasi . Dan arah ke fort canning . Semoga next video bisa di buat kan . This area really changed a lot. I remember the days when it was only North-South Red MRT Line and the station was actually very small, like not an important MRT station at all. Once the purple line opened, everything changed and it became such a crucial hub for moving between the lines. So interesting. Mostly I go to Plaza Singapura to look at swords when I'm bored. I don't buy them though. It's too expensive for me and I don't have the cash.
I have very vague childhood memories of the place it was half the size, wasn't renovated then, and it was better known as Yaohan. I can't remember what shops were there but I was "always" there as a kid.
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Yeah. Same. I remember VERY small things; like there were some huge sculptures of women and babies by Ng Eng Teng. I remember Yaohan too. I remember the taxi stand for some reason... very vague indeed but certainly a big part of our childhood.

Not sure if my memories fail me, but there used to be a Settlers Cafe near Prinsep Street, we used to spend days after classes there, playing board games and just chilling with friends. Also it was so nearby Hark Music School where I used to take their piano classes. Ah, those were the days. Then again, it's been so long that I'm not sure they are still at the same location. Your walking tours always brings up fond memories :)
Believe it was Minds Cafe 😄 I actually went a couple of times long ago. There were on the 2nd floor of a shophouse then. Think they moved to the 1st floor of a nearby building and is much larger. Ah nice! You are a musician 😄 Is your piano skills good?

I like food of Singapore. I like visit malls in Singapore's. Weathers there are hot and nice. I can visit Singapore again. I have a Grandma at Indonesia. Weathers there are nice and hot. Same as Singapore's.

Would prefer to reply to your questions in the comment section Dhoby Ghaut is a place in Singapore that often refers to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, a major interchange station on Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit network. As a place, Dhoby Ghaut lies along the eastern end of Orchard Road. There is a shopping mall above the MRT station called Plaza Singapura. Dhoby Ghaut or Dhobi Ghat (Hindi: धोबी घाट) literally means washerman's place in Hindi. Dhobi means "washerman" or one that does laundry, and ghat, referring to a series of steps leading down to a body of water. The Hindi term "ghat" passed into English usage during the British occupation of India, and was later anglicised to ghaut.
There should be an Indian uncle selling assorted peanuts on the sidewalk of the Peace Center building. Sometimes I bought the peanut from him when I was around the area. He's been there for ages. Where is he? I hope this simply his day off.
Great walk. Sun didn’t come out, so not quite as hot. Got my vaxx shots; hoping SIN is accepting foreign tourists by fall; want to restart my annual trip.
Fingers crossed it will happen 😄 Based on some of the cases we have been seeing, people who have been vaccinated can still be having the virus, so I think swab tests will still be required. Perhaps by fall we will know more of the government's plans
Thanks for the suggestion 😊 but I decided quite awhile back not to do so. There are other channels doing it and I'm not very keen on filming inside those malls. One reason why I choose not to film inside Parklane 🤣

Dhoby Ghaut is a place in Singapore that often refers to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, a major interchange station on Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit network. As a place, Dhoby Ghaut lies along the eastern end of Orchard Road. There is a shopping mall above the MRT station called Plaza Singapura.
Dhoby Ghaut or Dhobi Ghat (Hindi: धोबी घाट) literally means washerman's place in Hindi. Dhobi means "washerman" or one that does laundry, and ghat, referring to a series of steps leading down to a body of water. The Hindi term "ghat" passed into English usage during the British occupation of India, and was later anglicised to ghaut.
There should be an Indian uncle selling assorted peanuts on the sidewalk of the Peace Center building. Sometimes I bought the peanut from him when I was around the area. He's been there for ages.

Fingers crossed it will happen 😄 Based on some of the cases we have been seeing, people who have been vaccinated can still be having the virus, so I think swab tests will still be required. Perhaps by fall we will know more of the government's plans

Thanks for the suggestion 😊 but I decided quite awhile back not to do so. There are other channels doing it and I'm not very keen on filming inside those malls. One reason why I choose not to film inside Parklane 🤣

Vaccines should come first, then a period to make sure of their effectiveness. I hate the masks too but better safe than to have an outbreak.
