Hi Capt of Will's Way .. Been a while but now catching up on your videos .. Was trying to work out when this video was taken .. I guess the ice has gone now but the storm is here .. Thoroughly Enjoyed watching .. Thank You Will for this much awaited Smile on me Dial .
Ice is a killer for the boats isn’t it. That canal was filthy, we are troubled with penny wort. Environment services are doing their best to get rid of it.
Seems to be that canal has alot of weed from what people have told me. When I left and went back later a weed boat was scooping up all the weed and rubbish. So they're on it. You know. Take care and keep the vlogs coming .
Nice one Will I think they sink them boats to preserve um then they lift um up and do um up how did you got on wi the storms no damage I hope well soon be spring Cheers Will 🔧🙂✌️
My boats abit battered but I'm fine. Thankyou buddy. I don't know why they'd sink an old GRP cruiser. Cheap to buy one and do it up or better still just look after it. Ha
Ice breaker Will . . . 😂. I remember Gary going to The same place you are moored at. . . Looks a nice place and full of history. Such a shame that those sunken boats are there. You’d think they would hoik them out. Take care Will.
It is a great place to visit. I locked myself out of the basin. Next vlog. What a plonker. Apart from the weed and abit of rubbish it was great. I think I was suppose to pay but no one said anything so I didn't ask. Ha ha. Those sunken boats don't serve any purpose and it means there's not many moorings. Lots of interesting things to see. Thanks for commenting Mark.
Crikey, there's more boats under the water than on top. You would think who ever was is charge of the moorings would have then removed, surely. A tad nippy on the cut today matey, you really know how to have fun. Your fingers must be near ready to fall off. Take care Will.
Yeah I know. I don't know why they don't get rid of them. Perhaps they're being preserved under water for later restoration. It was cold but lovely crisp mornings where a warm 🔥 is amazing Phil. Take very good care of yourself until your missus returns to make dumplings for you.
Yeah that canal has alot of weed. I don't think it would take much for a weed boat to go up and down once every 6 months. Although in fairness a weed boat was collecting weed when I went back for my van. So hopefully it's been cleared Vic. Cheers
I have sailed through ice, took off more paint around the prop than at the bow, anyway thanks for the heads up, don't think I will spend my holiday at the Costa Del Ellesmere Port.
I've been on much worse canals. It's worth the effort. The basin is amazing Eddie. When I was leaving they had a weed machine taking all that weed out. Take care buddy.
Ha ha it started off thin and then got thicker and thicker. It needs blacking anyway otherwise I wouldn't of done it David. Hope these storms aren't to bad for you. Pretty open there...
Yes they do Mike. When I was leaving the Basin a boat was clearing the weed but I don't know how far he went down the canal. It's always a problem on that stretch. Take very good care ..
@@NarrowboatWill Yeah youyou go to 5 minutes 52 secondssecon seconds she iss tood tt the bottom of the footpath leadingleadi down rom the roadbridge.dressed in black anda ig pointypointy hat lol
Went up there last April and it was clear as a bell. Stopped in the basin for a few days which was great as the museum was closed and we had the place to ourselves. I really enjoyed my trip up there, maybe they'd just dredged it.
Haha, automated subtitles called it Alzheimer's canal, since this spinach farm is neglected massively. Making ice cubes with a narrowboat seems to get expensive, the blacking rises its ugly head.
Ha ha it does Umberto. I wouldn't do that with new blacking. Mines due now. The next place I can get in. I will do it. The ice just got thicker and thicker. Take care.
Well if it didn’t do it does now !(blacking) Yes frozen mornings have their own particular charm like breaking the ice on the cattle’s water tank and discovering you’ve got a hole in your wellie !😱
It started off really thin then it got thicker and thicker. Yeah my boat needs blacking. I'm used to having holes in my old boots. Ha. Crisp winter mornings are magic Tony. Cheers
Great vlog, it's always been a bad stretch Chester to Ellesmere port especially in winter deffo one to avoid..it's Ellesmere port Ellesmere is on the Llangollen 😁
🧊 🛥 🌱 wow what a cruise that was with the ice and weed, still the basin looks clear…. apart from the sunken boats…. Another interesting vlog Will, cheers

That Ellesmere Port canal is pretty shocking and the CRT should do something about it, you all pay enough to stay on the their canals.

Oh ffs this keyboard is sh!*@!*^@!!!!!
Will a Question, I would of thought the canal people who run these canals would of dredged these water way on the odd occasion,?

Very interesting. Didn't notice on the first time through. Wonder if it's a prop or someone actually standing there.
Do like a clean boat which is obviously loved and looked after….👍
Yeah I agree Peter. Tidy boat tidy mind...
