Just watched today and this is a solid movie. One thing I did notice was the scene about Mr. Crockett backstory was a bit rushed and very surface level, especially the relationship of him and Anthony. Also the scenes of him entering through the TV could have been flushed out better. The twist at the end was cool and leaves the door open for part 2 but hopefully the backstory is explored more.
I'm so happy you liked this film. It sounds like it's an ordinary, trope-free villain. I'll check it out. I also love Elvis Nolasco; he doesn't work enough.
I really liked this one! Loved the practical effects. Elvis played a great creepy character. As a 90's kid nostalgia went pretty hard. Agree, the writing could've been tightened up a bit, but I hope it gets a sequel and can flesh out some more of the lore of Mr. Crocket. 9/10
I just watched this. I liked it and it was fine but I did feel that the “twist” was too obvious and I did feel it dragged somewhat toward the middle and end. I would definitely like to see more of Mr Crocket (literally) - I wish he had been utilized more throughout the movie… whenever he was on screen I was fully invested.
I really liked it and agree with your reviews! I liked the animation and art direction a lot. I haven’t seen a lot of horror movies - kinda stumbled upon this one randomly scrolling. Do you have any others you recommend that are similar?
Kristie's Tik Tok about this movie put it on my radar. It seems rare we get black horror without a side serving of trauma. Definitely going on my spooky season watchlist. I'll be checking for the spoiler review.
It was good. A little Goofy, a little weird, and a little scary. I hope they make a part 2 to flush out more about Mr. Crocket and what happens to Major. Very fun movie
I just watched this and thought, what the eff did I just watch, lol! But this was really good. I've seen more black horror films lately. It's kind of like Five Nights at Freddy's on steroids. I hope they make a part 2.

Sounds like Mr. Rogers X Freddy Krueger. I live for new horror icons and get excited seeing Black horror filmmakers tell new stories. I'm in!
Yes! This exactly
