After about 5-10 minutes you see what monstrosity started from your creation ( My group's ended up being a penguin marrying a flamingo with a very elaborate audience.. I thiiiink the flamingo had intended to be a dragon at the start but the next person saw it wrong XD )
arent you supposed to get a piece of paper fold it 4 times and then draw one part of the body fold it so the person cant see what you did and give it to the other person then they draw the other part. then you reveal it afterwards

I endlessly forget how good Arin is at art. I'm studying animation and this is a great exercise for wakening the observational part of your brain, to get you to draw what you see instead of what you imagine, and Arin's first piece is such a great example of the exercise done really really well. Lots of really organic and honestly observed elements. The chin was a little iconographic but the fact that he even talked about it showed he was conjuring the image from his mind's eye instead of his actual eye (a trap he would have easily avoided if he wasn't also being filmed and didn't have to make this entertaining). I know Arin has no classical artistic training which only makes this miles more impressive. I know this is a 10MPH and just for shits and giggles but if I had to rate it he would get a solid 9/10 from me on that exercise, absolutely nailed it homie.

I’m currently a fine arts Major in college, and we do blind contour still life practice before every study we do. Naturally, every time I’m looking at like a jar or something and doing a blind contour of it, I think of this video and try not to laugh in the completely silent studio.

we do blind contour drawings in the first semester of art school so this is 1000% legitimate professional art stuff

Real question: arent blind contours supposed to be not very detailed or of poses mostly? I always had to do full body ones in my class
