Idk man I think you’re a little harsh on John Bevere. His book Awe of God is amazing and harps on how important it is that we have the fear of the Lord and the danger of OSAS. You pick the one line where he says “very very very” and paint him to be the type that consents to a sinful lifestyle. If you listen to the whole podcast, in context he’s trying to be gentle with the people that oftentimes think they’re going to hell because they reacted to any situation in an imperfect way. I remember listening to the whole podcast episode and thinking it was pretty well rounded in his approach to OSAS, although I agree with you that he could have been a little more bold on this position for this episode given the thumbnail he used. Overall I think you’re doing your viewers a disservice by turning them away from him because he has a lot of amazing insight and is constantly seeking after holiness and repentance contrary to how you portray him.
It was John Bevere that said a line I often repeat that “as good Christians we should major in the majors, and minor in the minors”. I feel like this channel oftentimes majors in the minor of OSAS. As a result you turned against someone who I consider a strong spirit led man of God just because he isn’t as intense as you are on this one topic. He’s got good reason for addressing it the way he did, and I feel like you don’t see that because you’re hyper focused on whether or not he immediately sees things exactly the same way you do. I agree OSAS is such a huge problem of our day. The funny thing is that John does too. Idk if you only listened to this one podcast episode, or if you’ve been listening to the series he’s been doing on 2 Peter. He literally chose that book to study because he’s trying to shed more light on this exact topic, and 2 Peter does a good job of debunking OSAS. Honestly bro maybe you could learn something from him. Maybe you’d reach more people if you weren’t so contrarian and were more gentle like John and majored in a major like speaking in love. If you watch more of his stuff you’ll see he strives for holiness, and he does it effectively because he does it with love.
And idk why you think it’s evil the way he asks for money. He’s not using the for personal use. Many preachers do but he doesn’t. He uses it to pay for many charitable purposes or making things like the MessengerX app which is completely free and provides excellent material having explored a decent amount of his content on there.
John Bevere isn’t flying a personal Jet, he’s sincerely seeking to do God’s will.
Anyway I appreciate what you do. I hope you don’t see me as a simple contrarian to you. It’s some honest feedback and you can do with it what you want. I’m not the best at delivering feedback but I hope you can see my intentions. Faithful are the wounds of a friend but deceitful the kisses of an enemy. Much love for you and this channel

@@jakebaker3200 really? I actually thought maybe I wasn’t harsh enough for him being a false teacher. OSAS is a different gospel. Remember Paul said ANYONE preaching another gospel let them be accursed. True he doesn’t preach OSAS, which is good. However, he still preaches the opposite of Christ. Christ preaches strive, John preaches you don’t have to. This is, by definition, Antichrist. Please watch my video and learn more about what the Bible says about false teachers. You’d be surprised! Spoiler alert - it has nothing good to say about them.

@@jakebaker3200 also, interesting you say that. I just watched a video on him where he says the fear of the Lord isn’t actually being scared of God it’s just a fear of leaving Him. Again, not at all what the Bible says. Look it up in the Greek. Fear is Phobos - where we get the word Phobos from. It means - well fear, terror. Imagine that! God’s word is true and John is a liar.

@@abideintheWord I love that definition. How can you be intimate with someone you’re scared of? His exact words are that it’s to be so in love with Hod that you’re terrified of being away from Him. It’s an excellent way to make sense of it. It balances the original Hebrew meaning very well, and rectifies the concept that you’re supposed to love your god with all your heart. “This is life eternal that they might know thee the only true God.” The same Hebrew word “know” here is used when it says Adam “Knew” his wife and she bore a son. True intimacy with God is to know him and crave his presence like how two lovers in the honeymoon phase crave being in eachother’s presence. God gave us marriage and made us in his image Male and Female to demonstrate how our relationship should be with him.
There was a meme someone sent me a while ago that demonstrates this perfectly. It was a little kids homework assignment and looked like this:
Question 1: “who is your hero?”
Answer: “my dad” (Little kid’s handwriting was written in the spaces)
Question 2: what do you admire about your hero
      Kid’s answer: “He’s brave”
Question 3: is there anything your hero is afraid of?
      Answer: “my mom”
I related to this a ton when I saw it. When I remembered my dad growing up I saw him as masculine and fearless just like the kid who wrote those answers on the homework assignment. The only thing I ever saw my dad afraid of was when my mom got mad at him. It’s not like he was worried she’d shoot him or something, it’s just that he loved her so much that the thought of not being in right relationship with her took first priority for him and I could see it actually made him nervous navigating those tough convos with her. It’s the same with God. Clearly Jesus saw it this way when he said to the church of Ephesus: Revelation 2:4-5
[4] But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. [5] Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place-unless you repent.
Jesus is basically saying something similar to what a fighting married person would say when they’re well out of the honeymoon phase and their spouse is taking them for granted.

Essentially Matthew 18 isn’t about public false teaching, the context is if somebody sins against YOU. False teachers you can’t usually get ahold of, especially the more popular they are. The Bible says to expose these men, not meet with them privately first. Like Paul rebuke Peter publicly for leading others astray, we do likewise.

So, it seems that there are some translations that omit this niuanse. That is true that Paul rebuked Peter publicly, but I think he should have resisted him first face to face, because we read "But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned." And I did not suggest that Paul sinned, by no means, of course not. But now, when I have read this passage again in a wider context, I think he just rebuked Peter openly before others. There is missing context to his statement that it is very hard to lose your salvation in that he is expressing the idea that you don't lose it when you sin once and then get it back and then lose it and get it back....because we as humans do sin in various ways daily. The thing is that you are looking at this one specific part of this teaching as if he is saying it's hard to sin. That's not at all what he's saying. Sin is easy. His gospel message still stands true....unlike that of most of OSAS who is more closely tied to the counterfiet money because it looks and seems liek gospel but it's in fact a false security not founded on Christ but in the faith that you cannot lose it.

@@beaberean3286 it comes down to what does the Bible say? Not what John Bever says or what your opinion is. How many times do you have to deny Jesus to be denied before the Father, according to Scripture - again NOT your own opinion. How many times? 3? 10?
Friend, before you respond I want to know, did you watch the whole video? I ask because it seems like you didn’t. Go and watch first. If you won’t watch your comments will be ignored. Thanks.

Please tell me, did Jesus command His followers to go into all the world and preach the gospel? Or to go into all the world guessing the exact year of His return and trying to convince other people of this belief? Come on now. Stay focused soldier! What are your marching orders from the Lord?

@ Well to preach the gospel of course but prophecy is a beautiful thing and we know we’re in the end times we gotta be watching. But the proof that video has for Jesus to come very soon is extraordinary based on biblical prophecies

@ yea I know but we still gotta be watching. For example, we know that God will return on the 7th day bc the 7th day of the week is the day of rest and every day is a thousand years. It’s pretty deep but 2030 or somewhere around that year makes the 7th day and God will come then and reign for 1000 years on earth then we head into the 8th day which is eternity. Pretty deep ik not to get sidetracked but we’re in the end times n gotta be watching and I think it’s fine to study ab it, talk ab it, and share it bc it’s important and God wouldn’t put end time prophecies in the Bible for us not to talk look into it
