I havnt ever touched a lefty until this month I finally bought a beauty 2012 dlr sl. I am speechless at the functionality. Small bump compliance far beyond any conventional suspension, amazing torsional rigidity...I will not be going back to a "normal" fork anytime soon
tried one years ago around a shop in town and it had up down movements as smooth if not more than a rear suspension while conventional forks go from "not moving at all" to "compressed" which is cheap and not good, that's not what a suspension is supposed to do, seems stupid of cannondale not to advertise on that aspect, it's miles ahead of all other forks
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Malakai Jad thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Not real sure about all the hate when it comes to leftys. I've never rode with one. I've also heard from people at my local trails that there great!! I just can't get over the way they look and new fork money is a lot to gamble with
Got a Jekyll 1000 caad 4 lefty that’s got the button on the handle bars to switch modes. Never seen anyone else with one besides in this video so maybe it’s an Olympic spec
I got supermax pbr 130 29. problem with lefty fork is that, it always loses fork travel. mine loses 30mm travel after 25km ride, and the manual says that bearing reset needs to done every 50hrs. in my case not even 50hrs, so i have to reset my lefty fork bearing every time before i ride my trigger 29.
Hi,cannondale forks lefty ,slate road bicycle, with disc brakes, racing are fun, since i am youth age... thankyou . I likes this very much.... what i pays, are what i need..... now i love it .years of 2016 ... with gopro.. have fun with me ...soon... over the rainbow..up to the top of the worlds.....
talking about bike engineering, i like to refit them with 1000w motors and 100km worth of battery (10 pounds)... If you put 20 pounds of the simplest ebike gear onto any bike, it adds the power of about 2 horses. it goes faster than a horse, and 10 times further than a horse in a day. That means that the power to weight ratio of an ebike compared to a petrol cross country bike is about 70 percent lighter, and 100 decibels quiter. it's the future. Petrol companies are trying to erase that fact. they work with governments to ban and outlaw new bike technologies. after all who needs a car if you can have a bike that weighs 25 pounds which is faster than a horse and goes 10 times further? petrol companies will be angry.
A lefty is not lighter, even Cannondale will admit this some times. The reason for their continuing Lefty development is merely the fork works better under non-vertical loads such as cornering flex and torsion. It also allows for faster flat repairs.
Interesting that you should say that. I recently stumbled upon a UA-cam BMC review of their "future technology" and the road bike had one fork. On the right though...
+Alex Paulsen Flat repairs yes, you'd save about 5 seconds on a lefty over removing the entire wheel on a normal fork. "non-vertical loads" no, they're worse at everything else, and provably so. The only "innovation" here is finding a new way to get people to pay too much for a bike.
Brad Gefroh Watch a previously uploaded technical demonstration with a Lefty and a competing Fox fork, no springs, clamped to a bench. He flexes both forks in all directions and still demonstrates the lefty being buttery smooth, no stiction. Sure, Cannondale are trying their best to sell you expensive items, but I couldn't argue what I saw in the video. They're not Mavic, and they're not trying to refine utterly useless carbon fibre spokes.
the lefty is so stiff and responsive, you cant even tell the diference while riding and in my opinion it balances the bike out bec the derailure and casette are on the right of the bike.
You can buy them online for less than 500 bucks. A brand new 26 inch version is going for 475.00 dollars brand new straight from the factory. You can get used carbon ones for around 600 dollars depending on the model.
ohhh come on you discovered America again :) you see the nature and design a lefty leg :))) bla bla bla Piaggio Aviation Italy found it before you were at the world and put it to Vespa motorcycles....
I mean. It works. But it's not as stiff, not as rigid, nowhere near as reliable as conventional forks. Simply because...physics. I rode one of these once, and it felt normal but certainly nothing special. However, in a long term use they will have all kinds of problems, and servicing this bitch...oh my god.
@@Quicksilver_Cookie yet cannondale still makes updates to this fork and they are awesome! Is it the best….. ? Maybe not but its just as good as anything else I’ve ridden!
Double D with the history lesson. Miss working with you buddy. Those were good times.

Cannondale outsourced their bike manufacture to outside of the US, this guy's job is next.
Yeah and cannondale has gone to shit in a big way.

Worth every penny!!!!
Not much gamble there. But yeah, if you don't need a good suspension, you don't need a lefty.

Are they all backward/forward compatible with each other (ie.... can I take a new one and replace an older one without modification to the bike)?

I just brought a F29 2's frame and Im going with a fox fork because of all the complaints Ive heard from the lefties.
I like the t-shirt! Where can I buy one?

very informative
steer tube diameter lefty max 140?
NEED TO UPDATE for 2018 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg the stick hahaha
Can i put this fork on my trwil 7?
No, you can’t install a lefty fork in an entry level bike.
2002 Olympics were in salt lake city, not Sydney.
2002 Olympics were also Winter (Salt Lake) Olympics... he probably meant 2000, you can see him think about.

Horses too. They are lobbying
I wonder why cannondale don't make one for their road bikes?
probably the aero dynamics and more weight is put on the front

I have a super v 700sx year 2000
What colour?
Seems to me to be a solution to a non-existent problem with a traditional fork.......sure looks cool though......

+DeathlyTboneage ji, i don`t think derailures weight that much in order to unbalance the bike... my 0,02
Too expensive.

This is such an asinine design gimmick. I can’t believe this garbage is still on the market.
