The ruling party BJP and the opposition Congress in Haryana are facing 'rebel trouble' ahead of the upcoming Assembly election. A total of 19 BJP and 29 Congress rebels are contesting elections in 15 and 20 constituencies, respectively.
Interestingly, the Congress managed to mollify 12 dissidents in seven constituencies. BJP rebels in six constituencies also withdrew their nominations at the request of senior party leaders. Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda and Chief Minister Nayab Saini were seen appealing to Congress and BJP dissidents, respectively, to withdraw their nominations in favour of their party nominees.
