Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt tell us about what they imbibed from each other’s acting styles and how they became their respective characters in the film. The duo address questions about the pay parity in Bollywood and whether actors charge a huge price today. They also address criticism that some of the raps from Gully Boy have come under. Beyond his colourful clothes and immense energy, there lies a down to earth, humble, grounded and very intelligent man. After watching interviews of Ranveer's, I kind of know now what makes him special in Deepika's eyes. Thats why she always repeat that behind Ranveer's cheerful personality, powerful energy and smiles, there is a sensitive, expressive, intelligent man. Ranveer is much more than just his energy.
Yes. I always thought he was so full of himself - "look at me" etc etc. But I've seen lots of interviews now & seen him to be a very kind & genuinely caring. He clearly loves Deepika SO much.

In an entire 30 minute interview if you cannot focus on all the sensible and really in-depth stuff that Ranveer is talking about, then the problem is with you not him. It shouldn't hold your attention more than a few minutes otherwise your perspective is probably too shallow for this conversation

Everything a star does or said is blown out of proportion and they face blind unrational hate, as javed sir once rightly said "It takes guts for a bollywood star to be political as they are very vulnerable people, they will be targeted in all possible ways, that's why you don't see a Meryl streep in India".

Damn Alia spoke so well about the remuneration an actor should receive, but she definitely undervalues herself even Varun Dhawan said that in an interview with Film Companion that she doesn't ask for the money she deserves! Alia you're the most bankable female star in India, better accept that and act like it, queen.
Kangna certainly commands way better n deserving salary thn her male coactors n is nt like others female stars who submit n accept that they don't deserve as much as the male costar.
@@Gargisharma028 Kangana Ranaut does not understands the movie business at all! Not everything is always about feminism. The problem is the audience. For eg- everyone knows that people turned up in huge number to watch Pathaan in the theatres not because of Deepika Padukone but because of SRK. Producers will definitely pay a huge amount to SRK as compared to Deepika. Yeah it's not fair coz Deepika too is a crowd puller but SRK is a bigger crowd puller as compared to her. Its simple business. We as audience should start appreciating female centric movies more which would make the producers of pay an equal salary to the actresses.

It's great that in India someone belonging to a rich family who had the misforutne of travelling to US once a year while growing up is the face of hip hop via cinema-a genre that has largely been enriched by working class including African Americans in the US.

I think that's a very safe PR statement that they gave about being apolitical. Since there is such hero worship that happens in our country when it comes to actors, they refrain from speaking so that their opinion won't blow-up in their faces. They are always scrutinized for something or the other. Sometimes the most trivial things. Politics is a subject which can seriously hurt sentiments and honestly they'd rather shut up than create an uproar before their film. Not every opinion of theirs need to be public.
Thoroughly enjoyed this interview and for some reason it makes me want to watch this film even more. Kudos to you fc!!!!!

Ranbir and Ranveer are like north and south poles... In terms of on-screen and off-screen personas.
Ranbir's strength is emotions.. Raw emotional scenes where you just need your eyes and face to perform and lot of silence and "ttheraav'. Ranbir's acting is all in his eyes. Ranveer's strength is his versatility and his body language. He uses his whole body to showcase the performance. He can also pull of different shades and types of characters - loud, urban, negative, small town. Subtlety is not Ranveer's strong point, in your face is (in a good way).
Ranbir is far better actor than Ranveer in expressing subtle nuances and body language. His acting is classy.

Anupama really asked some important questions- on screen vs off screen personalities, salaries, things they stand for. Alia was more forthcoming in her replies without being politically incorrect. Ranveer I feel takes these interviews too lightly. It's promotion time. I would suggest that such good questions get asked at times when there's an actual interview happening and not a promotional campaign. I know that these stars give very few real interviews otherwise, so this is probably the only time that Anupama can ask questions at all. But for the sake of the questions, I feel bad when the answers are so blah to such good questions. At one point she even says "are you looking at your cats?" I think that sums up the way the actors treat these promotional interviews. It's the "just get over with it" attitude. Sad.
