A character that i feel is often overlooked but amazing was Beak. Master of EVERY warren! Tragic backstory. Sacrifices himself to protect everyone (especially the women he loved). And in the end is personally greeted by Hood to pass on to the afterlife.
100%! I really wanted to get Beak in there but then I decided to leave him and quick out so I could do stand-alone videos for each of them! Thanks so much for watching!
Completely agree with you regarding Beak. I still get chocked up thinking about his story. Looking back, I don't know if would have continued reading the series if the Erickson hadn't included the post-script with Hood. I absolutely needed the recognition (essentially by the author himself), that this particular character and sacrifice mattered. Great stuff.
Beak was such a heart wrench! his description of using ''candles'' (warrens) kept me confused for so long, until it finally clicked and I realised; this dude is such a mess because he has SO much power/magic. again, Erikson's writing of a character being SO good, you don't even understand it until you obsess over every little detail in a character's chapter and start taking/comparing notes on it. love this series.
Picking ten characters in this series is so difficult. Maybe ten in each book, Lol. But my ten: Whiskeyjack, Ganoes Paran, Kalam, Quick Ben, Fiddler, Anomander Rake, Coltaine, Tehol Beddict, Trull Sengar, and Dassem Ultor. So many honorable mentions! Karsa Orlong, Mappo, Cotillion/Rope, Toc the Younger, Kruppe, poor Beak...and on and on. The series is such an amazing blend of characters!!! BTW, Love the channel!!
Haha, thank you. My Tavore crush has been the source of some heated debates in the discord so I appreciate someone backing me up on that one!! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment and sorry it has taken me so long to reply-I was out on vacation for a week and just getting caught up!
love the video... but while watching , my eyes could not help but be drawn back to the globe, and then it hit me how amazing would it be to be able to buy globes of your favorite fantasy worlds...
I love how as the reader we initially think pust is an absolute moron. The characters think he can't possibly manipulete them because he literally thinks out loud. I can't accurately recall which book it was, but when the rope and shadowthrone were then revealed to that it was pust who got everyone to where they needed to be, both geographically and even mentally. Awesome character, for sure. And then
Tehol and Bug team gave me a Wooster and Jeeves vibe right from the start. Big fan of P. G. Wodehouse's Jeeves book series and I feel that Steve Erikson took some inspiration from them or a similar comic duo.
An odd pick, but I'd like to submit Kallor. The man who cursed the gods themselves. Iskar mentions the codes his favorite heroes live by, Kallor also has a well-defined code of ethics. He sees himself as a self-made man, a victim of cruel fate and capricious gods. That very refusal to admit any flaw in his character is the very thing keeping him from changing and finding satisfaction in the life he's got.
Kallor actually has a lot of fans out there. I admit, he’s a fantastic character and very well written. I just never fall in love with him as a person... I don’t think we’re supposed to, but still, for me, that’s what made them escalate into the top category for me!
Watching this video brought back all the fond memories of the Malazan characters that were formed when I read the series 3 years back. Thank you and keep 'em coming.
Lostara Yil is one of my favorite characters. The shadow dancer. Home girl fought off a Naruk by her self. Boss. Her story is dope. It's actually amazing how well Erickson and esslemont weaved in the stories of so many and still have so many loose threads that keep me reading hoping to see what comes of it all. Love your choices.
@@caopyp well, I was thinking about someone who started off as an ordinary mortal but achieved immortality through his mastery of the sword. We've yet to meet the seguleh first. We do know he was wary enough of the 3rd to send him on a punitive mission. Dassem didnt seem to fear karsa at all.
@@caopyp Dassem becomes the Seguleh 1st in Orb Sceptre Throne. And Karsa Orlong has shown himself to be shaken by Dassem's skill when he was fighting Anomander Rake, which was something we've never seen from Karsa.
My top two easily Quick Ben and Kalam. Good to see Kruppe here, he was my #3, dropped a bit towards the end, wish there was more of him. So happy to see Adjunct Tavore, she was nowhere in my top 20, but towards the end of the series, shot into my top 5. Two others that rose the ranks towards the end were Stormy and Gesler.
Love the list! Happy to find a Malazan channel. Almost finished with the Crippled God. Some characters that stand out to me that weren't on the list: Brys Beddict, Badalle, Onrack, Udinaas. And Silchas Ruin is starting to grow on me. Thanks for the great videos!
That's a good list. I do have to say that Fidler with his lobber and a bag full of cussers is one of the most dangerous characters in the series, he's also a great tactician and his talent with the deck of dragons makes elder gods pee their pants. Personally for my top 5 I have: Onos with his 300k year tragedy and his heart that keeps being broken and put back together over and over and over again, Rake with all his power and his mission of redemption, Toc and his straight up bravery and goodness, Fidler for his compassion and badassery and Stormy/Gesler (they have to count as one, period) for defining friendship, superb bravery and again compassion, their banter is one of the best parts of the series imo. Its really hard to select out of soooo many great characters. I love to read Hellian and the Tehol/Bugg chaps for pure entertainment reasons too.
This is the Malazan Chanel I was looking for! I loved the list. My personal favorite is Fiddler; the toughest bridgeburner and shrewdest saboteur there ever was. I just love how resilient he is without losing an ounce of his humanity. I also appreciate Toc the Younger; what he's been through is, my God, just an insane roller coaster. What can I say of Itkovian? His talk about compassion it's engraved on my mind. Tavore is a particular case I don't sympathize with her as much as with Lostara or even Apasar. But she's still probably the character I respect the most, up there with Anomander. Hood's balls. There's so many great characters in malazan, just to mention some not as popular but still great characters imo: Kyle, Storo, Iron Bars, Tempest, Grupp, Tayschreen, Caladan, Stonewielder, Hurl, Shimmer, etc. For me not only the world but also the characterization of Malazan is top notch.
Dude, I’m so glad you found the channel. I agree and love Fid and Toc too! I hear you on Tavore as well but that’s what’s so great is that there’s so many amazing characters that are so interesting that there’s something for everyone. Thanks for watching!!
Over the course of the past three months I read this series and the sheer amount of characters that appealed to me was astonishing. Ganoes was one of my favourites from the get go and I was surprised ( yet not surprised) to see so few people mentioning him among their favourites. Great to see him in this list!
First off, thank you for making this video. Second, we're fighting. No mention of Coltaine?!? No mention of Beak?!? I'm sorry, but there can be no peace between us as long as this injustice stands. And I think you should make a video just about the PHENOMENAL female characters in the the series. Tavore, in my opinion, is the absolute HARDEST character in the entire series. The ice in her veins, the steel in her spine and the clarity of her vision. To understand, better than all, what the Crippled God was, staggering. And what's more, she convinced an entire army, that didn't particularly like her, to sacrifice everything, unwitnessed, to do the right thing. What an amazing arc. Thanks again, and sorry that we're now enemies.
I know, I know. I LOVE Beak 100%. I was running out of space on my list and I also have plans to do an entire Beak stand alone video. It's no excuse, I know, but hopefully at least some solace. I just wanted to wait on the Beak video until I got deeper into the books. I will do a "Malazan's Most Powerful Mages" video, where Beak will rank #1! I'm, also a big Coltaine fan and give him several shoutouts in my videos, he just got edged out by some of these others. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!!
And yes, I'm on board. Already have a video outlined titled, "Malazan has the STRONGEST female characters" Lots more to come--thanks for leaving your feedback--it's much appreciated!!
What happened to Coltaine still haunts me everytime i read through the DeadHouse Gates and re-affirms by own ability to not be "Indifferent" to the suffering of others regardless of what happens in all the other boks yet to come. I honour you, Coltaine! For me what you accomplished WILL NOT be forgotten!
I’m reareading DG myself right now-powerful stuff! I hope we get to see a young coltaine in the upcoming Karsa Trilogy. One can dream lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
KARSA!! Loved his story. Could be that I grew up reading CONAN comics, and it really resonated with me, but I do feel like he's not high on most lists of favourites (there's plenty of competition for the list, afterall, lol. ) Nice job on this vid - thanks for sharing!
So my favorite duo was always Stormy and Gesler, like perfectly normal dudes who went though a literal trial by fire and came out gold (also literal) I dunno I always liked reading their bits. Like just normal dudes who went through hell and back and were well... pissed about it and still did their jobs
On book 14 of your recommended order & read 90% K&B stories and here are my top 10 thus far (in no part. order): 1)Quick Ben 2) Onrack 3)Karsa 4)Corabb 5)Fiddler 6)Kruppe 7)Stormy 8)Crokus-Cutter 9)Korbal Broach 10)Anomander Rake
Onrack and Corabb!! Two great characters that probably don’t make a lot of top 10 lists but I’m here for it!! Great list and thanks for leaving a comment!!
I still get goosebumps thinking about Whiskey Jack and Anomander Rake during the events of the assault on Coral. Felt like that whole event leading up to the sad final part gave great insight into both of their beliefs and who they were. It's hard with Malazan characters though to get attached, always seems like the story is culture driven and the characters come in go, but are integral in driving the Malazan story. It's a really refreshing (and difficult) series for some because we can never get too attached to characters like we do with series such as Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones, or Kingkiller Chronicles. All of those are character driven, so Erikson really did something special with Malazan Book of The Fallen (got goosebumps again thinking about the Crippled God saying those words in the last book). Great Video "Bird That Steals".
I agree with you. Something very special indeed and it has great characters, which I’ve heard Malazan criticized for in the past and disagree with, but they just aren’t the central focus of the story! Thanks for watching!!
Top ten favorite characters in no order Tehol Beddict for his smarts, wits, and foresight. Also he has the best battle standard that even made Gesler grin. Bottle for both his smarts, but also because his rats and his connection with both magic and dialogue. He has great banter with Fiddler, who I could put on this list, but didn't and placed Bottle on here instead. As much as I love Fid, I think Bottle in a way is just as interesting for his POV dialogues. Onos Tool'an for his compassion and having a great character arc. He is probably the best empathetic character in the series. Gesler has always been one of my favorites. His dialogue and banter with Stormy is always great. He also has the best boy Bent. Mappo Runt, Icarium's best friend, but also for his dialogue and he has a drive to not just be a friend, but also trying to save Icarium even at the cost of his own life. Ganoes Paran, the master of the deck of dragons and many more. He has a great character arc and I love his smugness especially in The Crippled God. His banter with everyone he meets is great. I acctually didn't much care for him and preferred Tattersail, but I think Ganoes really stuck with me as a character and grew with me. Tavore Paran , she is like the paragon of compassion and carries the themes of the books. Its a slow build with her, but her motivations and her character development is some of the best in the series. Quick Ben, I mean he is a beast of a mage. What else should be said. He has great banter with Kalam, Ganoes, Whiskeyjack, and Tavore. Not to mention being able to go up against some of the strongest people in the series and do some amazing things. Janath Anar- From being tortured and out smarting her torterer to being one of the most amazing characters in the series in my opinion. I almost put Shurq on here instead, but I think I like Janath a tiny bit better than Shurq due to the fact that she has great banter with Tehol, Bryys, and Shurq. One of my favorite characters. Duiker, I'm a historian myself so I'm always going to love me some Duiker. Deadhouse Gates is also my favorite book in the series besides the last two so I am biased. Duiker has a great character arc, suffers and succeeds, and continues to live on so others can know the folly of what happened. Bonus favorite: Yan Tovis- I don't see a lot of poeple putting Yan Tovis in their list. She is a great leader and she understands the psychological pains that being a good leader has to go through. Her constant doubts and crying for her people in their time of need. Her relationship with the witches, Lethar Empire, The Shake, and The Shore are all really interesting.
Dude, I dunno how I missed this or never responded because this list is GOLD. I especially love the Yan Tovis honorable mention--so sick! Join the discord--you'd be a star in there!
Empathy was the concept you were looking for. And his story is also a cautionary tale of what happens when a person is too open. The loss of control, of any agency.
So so many great characters, good and bad, male and female, no numbered list can ever do justice to all the amazing characters. But all these people mentioning duos an no one mentions Iskaral Pust and Mogora! A more Joyful Union cannot be found in the series!!!
I'm only two books in so I didn't watch much of the video to avoid spoilers. But so far I'm not finding too many characters that I really really like. I only have one that I don't like though so I am hoping they grow on me. I think it was from the author's decision to focus on different sets of characters for the POV's from one book to the next. I think once I'm through the whole series I might have a few in my top fantasy characters list. Right now the only ones that are anywhere close are Mappo and Apt. I'm enjoying the series though even if I'm not huge fans of the characters. The Chain of Dogs sequence was epic.
Great vids dude. My only nitpick is Kruppe is pronounced like cuppa. Like cuppa tea. Quick Ben and Kalam belong on any list! Honorable mention to Shurq Elalle’s sense of humor.
Kallor...the guy you love to hate. Great detestable villian...also killed WhiskeyJack in one of the books most tragic moments of many. Annomander for obvious reasons but his brothers are just as influential. The duo's..Fid n Hegde, Gesler n Stormy, Icarium n Mappo,Quick n Kalam shades of ShadowThrown and the Rope, any member of House Nom, Iron Bars, Cowl vs Topper, the compassion of Itkvorian, my man Gruntel, my woman Hellian, Karsa Orlang, that asshole Clip!, Gothos, Envy, Kruppe's Donkey vs Iskaral Pusts Donkey...not forgetting Nefarious Breed
Amazing list-there’s so many good ones! I’m definitely going to make a dynamic duos video some day soon!! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!🙏✊👊
@@IskarJarak If your going through all of it ill defo be following along and dont get bogged down on the pronunciation or folks correcting you on it the Mezla's out there know what you mean and who your on about.
Tattersail's death low key wrecked me, man, because Erikson killed her off RIGHT when she cemented herself as one of my favourite characters in Gardens and I'm not clicking with Silverfox.
Ya, I’m hoping they improve the silver fox stuff in the Karsa books-they have an opportunity to do something cool now that she’ll have grown into her power a bit more! Maybe a Ganoes reunion??
Its hard cause there are so many great characters, Rake, Fiddler, Coltaine and Whiskeyjack are easy to put in, Quick Ben, Trull Sengar, Bottle, lol I could go on and on it might be easier saying characters I dont like (though some you are meant not to like so that can still be good).
Right?! My top 10 could have easily been a top 50 and even still I keep getting names mentioned and I’m like, “oh damn, I forgot about them!” So many awesome characters!!
"Fine... I'll unchain him.....then kill him"-Karsa Honestly one of the best quotes of the book. Hedge, Fiddler, K'rul, Kruppe, Mappo, Pearl, Quick Ben, Karsa Oarlong, Baudin, Brukhalian. The sheer weight of well storied characters make such a complex world. This universe is an awesome and ideal place for a dnd style game.
I may have just forgotten to mention that in the video. I love that he was a foot soldier. I also love that he learned to read with Toc the younger who learned faster and ended up being his tutor lol 😝
I REALLY wanted to squeeze Beak in there. Now that I’m thinking about it, he might even be my favorite mage! I think I’ll do a stand alone video for quick Ben and another for beak since I feel bad for leaving them off my list. Big Dasseem fan too! Thanks for commenting with your picks!!
@@IskarJarak I had several paragraphs that made me laugh and cry at the same time. I couldn't even tell you how many emotions that are going through me atm lol I feel like a have a deeper appreciation for life though!
Ok. So I almost had a heart attack, because I thought he wouldn't even get an honorable mention. But in the last moment you've delivered. I'm not mad, because your rating is based mainly on goodness of the heart and Karsa does have some major limitations there. Anyway great video, much appreciated, enjoyed it alot.
@@IskarJarak The thing is… I am a czech republic native and as you can guess the names masivelly masivelly differ in czech. So half of the time I have no idea who you're talking about. Hopefully I'll get accustomed to it soon enough :)
My favorite is probably Hood. I know he doesn't get to do a lot in the books but every time he's there it's either awesome and badass or super compassionate. Just love him.
Hood is an amazing character--especially after tCG and Kharkanas. People always think he loves when people die, but he's like one of the most empathetic characters in the entire world, which is saying a LOT! Sorry I never saw this and responded--it was a great comment and I totally agree!!
Tehol is definitely a favorite too. Should have squeezed him in, but I’m planning a best friends video and was going to do a big thing on him and bugg and also quick and Kalam. I had a hard time whittling it down to 20 lol
@@IskarJarak Quick Ben aside, the most intelligent characters are often the most disarmingly comedic. You could do a whole episode on the genius of Iskaral Pust, Kruppe, and Tehol. I'd have loved to have seen Kruppe conversing with Tehol at some point - that would surely make the reader's head spin. Their conversations with other characters display intelligent writing on a level beyond anything else in fiction.
@@IskarJarak well he's actions got the bridgeburners slaughtered in Coral that alone burst my bubble with him and just imagine if silverfox had all those T'lan Imass with her in Assail.. not trying to ruin your morning or anything just going back over a few vids while its quite here at work!
One of My favourite Will always be Cotillion/Dancer/Dorin Rav hehe... In the beggining of the series You think like "this god is not cool" but men You see him progress in all the books and he is a really Nice god/dude... And all his history in Path to Ascendacy is great!!!!
Didn't even get into ICE's books, Iron Bars, Shimmer, Greymain, Kyle, Skinner and Cowl, Smokey. Also my favorite villain over all is Kallor, he is suck a prick.
I love Kyle, shimmer, and bars-they just didn’t make the cut. Kallor is definitely one you love to hate. Not one of my favorites though! Thanks for watching!
i love ganoes as well, master of the deck! Kruppe however i found annoying. He's important, but unlike quickben or few other characters when you are reading felm his perspective he stays in his outward persona. As well as Pust! but he Pust is more like shadowthrone. Specially if youve read the prequels recently finished by Esselmont.
Kruppe is a jokester. He is the same in his head as he is on the outside, but for some reason he is able to just constantly connect the dots, but I totally get what you’re saying. Pust is definitely a modern version of Wu 😝
Skull death is a great one! I was man crushing on Skulldeath and Hellian in my livestream!! Thanks for the comment-you’re the first to mention him!! What a G!!!!
❤️ that’s amazing. I’ll have a Toc the younger video down the road. Want to get through a few more book videos first so I don’t spoil it all quite yet!

Wow, thank you very much. I totally agree-really enjoyed the P2A and super excited for the Jhistal in November. That’s the topic of Sunday’s vid! Appreciate it!!
A straight up G.... lol! Every character you mention and the only reason for my thumbs down. For a book that is the pinnacle of Fantasy, so well written it may be the peak of all literature as a whole. You use such a term that is almost laughable. Other than that, great list but you can't pick a list of top ten without missing a plethora of amazing characters. My top ten in no particular order and please forgive me spelling: Fiddler, Karsa Orlong, Quick Ben, Kruppe, Iskaral Pust, Draconus, Anomander Rake, Hood, Ganoes Paran and O'nos Too'lan
Oh, hahaha... my bad! I wouldn't be surprised if people don't like my choices though since there's so many other good ones that could have easily made the list! I wouldn't have had hurt feelings either way!! But you're definitely right--Worst Characters would be a GREAT video. Thanks so much for watching!! I'm going to add that one to my list. Maybe I can push it out iN November when the Jhistal goes out, since "THE" Jhistal will probably take the #1 slot on the list! Appreciate you!

One up for a Best Duo list.
Awesome! Will be making that one for sure!
You bought all these memories from reading this series. I definitely need to read it again.
It’s a lot of fun! Thanks so much for watching and leaving me your comments!!
The mention of Bottle and the scene in the inferno made it difficult for me to breathe for a moment. Serious PTSD right there.
So my favorite duo was always Stormy and Gesler, like perfectly normal dudes who went though a literal trial by fire and came out gold (also literal) I dunno I always liked reading their bits. Like just normal dudes who went through hell and back and were well... pissed about it and still did their jobs
Agree 100% - I’m going to do a whole separate best duos/best friendships video and there’s going to rank super high!!
On book 14 of your recommended order & read 90% K&B stories and here are my top 10 thus far (in no part. order):
1)Quick Ben 2) Onrack 3)Karsa 4)Corabb 5)Fiddler 6)Kruppe 7)Stormy 8)Crokus-Cutter 9)Korbal Broach 10)Anomander Rake
Top ten favorite characters in no order
Tehol Beddict for his smarts, wits, and foresight.
@@IskarJarak I've been in the Discord for awhile XD
Phew! 😅
Empathy was the concept you were looking for. And his story is also a cautionary tale of what happens when a person is too open. The loss of control, of any agency.
Yessss!
So so many great characters, good and bad, male and female, no numbered list can ever do justice to all the amazing characters.
But all these people mentioning duos an no one mentions Iskaral Pust and Mogora! A more Joyful Union cannot be found in the series!!!
They’re definitely make the cut for the pairs video!!
Rip Joyful union :( the scorpion
Stumbled onto your channel a week or two ago and have watch several videos now. So much nostalgia. Thanks for all your hard work!
Toc and Tool
Tehol and Bugg
That’s the 1-2 punch right there!
Keep up the good work dude. Awesome channel
Thank you so much 👍💪👊🙏
1) Karsa Orlong, 2) Udinaas, 3)Anomander Rake, 4) Silchas Ruin, 5) Bauchelain, 6) Fiddler, 7) Ublala Pung, 8) Icarium Lifestealer, 9) Kruppe, 10) Caladan Brood
Personal favorites: Bottle, Tehol and Bugg, Tool, Itkovian, Cotillion, Kruppe, Brys Beddict, Fiddler, and Icarium.
Ithkovian made a huge impression on me on the second reading. kruppe also was bigger part than I thought.
Tool or Karsa might be my favorite character. I would love a best friendships video. Tehol Bugg, Toc Tool, Onrack Trull...
Onrack + Trull ❤️ good call!! It’s going down with a friendships video soon!
Great vids dude. My only nitpick is Kruppe is pronounced like cuppa. Like cuppa tea. Quick Ben and Kalam belong on any list!
Honorable mention to Shurq Elalle’s sense of humor.
Haha, Shurq-how’s I forget that one. Thanks for the pronunciation tips, I definitely appreciate that!
Best friendship video would be great, there are a lot of friendships in the series.
Agreed, it’s going down! Stay tuned!
Mappo and icarium ?
Look Kruppe, hands down. Biggest badass, managing to pull off buffoonery and self centered gluttony, and selfless genius level low key leadership skills......
💯
@@IskarJarak yeah ney bother. Keep up the Malazan content. UA-cam needs more of it.
Jonathan Sheehy will do-thanks so much for checking out the channel!!
@@IskarJarak If your going through all of it ill defo be following along and dont get bogged down on the pronunciation or folks correcting you on it the Mezla's out there know what you mean and who your on about.
@@galvatron3323 Thank you sir! I'm ready to rock and roll--stay tuned!!
Dude, the end of Memories of Ice was totally Group Therapy for everyone at the bar.
Tattersail. Always. And kinda curious if she was PC or NPC and if the first, who played it.
"Fine... I'll unchain him.....then kill him"-Karsa
Honestly one of the best quotes of the book.
That's a great list. Love the Brukhalian hat tip!
Karsa oarlong has such a good story ark.
@@THX-bz8bi l really enjoyed his character development. He's also one of the few characters that could knock out icarian other than mappo
@@gruntingtucan4894 agreed! He is a total badass
My personal top 10:
1. Mappo
2. Kruppe
3. Tool
4. Kruppe
5. Kalam
6. Kruppe
7. Duiker
8. Kruppe
9. Karsa
10. Kruppe
Honorable Mention: kruppe
karsa is my numero uno, followed by the rope and quick ben.
Can’t argue with those ones!! Thanks for commenting!!
Trull Sengar.. Onrack, on the bridge: "Run, Trull Sengar! Run! ...and Trull run.. Ha, ha.. Those two.. But, fight with Icarium...
Heboric Ghost Hands-another great char!
100%! I’m rereading deadhouse gates and I forgot how much I love old light touch! He was great in path to ascendancy too!
MAPPPOOOOOO
Hahaha.... I’m reading DG again right now and enjoying our favorite trell again!
What a ending...
Soooo good!
3.Coltaine 2. Whiskeyjack 1. The greatest Bridgeburner of all; Fidd
I absolutely love me some fiddler!!
You forgot that decker was a foot soldier under du jack and the emperor pulled him from the army to be the historian even though he couldn't read
I may have just forgotten to mention that in the video. I love that he was a foot soldier. I also love that he learned to read with Toc the younger who learned faster and ended up being his tutor lol 😝
For me it’s Rutt & Held (broke my heart now they are stuck there) Tehol & Bugg, Karsa, Iktovian, Quick, Rake
💔
So many great characters....
That’s what makes it great!
spinnock durav is the best character. His dialogs with Anomander rake are mind blowing
Those are definitely some great moments
after my 1st read Lady E, Helion and Aspalor were 3 most notable characters, too many of male characters merged.
Dassem Ultor
Beak
Cotillion
Karsa
Fiddler
Andomander Rake
Seguleh (I know and I dont care)
Quick Ben
Kalam
Mappo
I REALLY wanted to squeeze Beak in there. Now that I’m thinking about it, he might even be my favorite mage! I think I’ll do a stand alone video for quick Ben and another for beak since I feel bad for leaving them off my list. Big Dasseem fan too! Thanks for commenting with your picks!!
Karsa Orlong, Quick Ben, Shadowthrone, Cottilion, Yedan Derryg
Just finished the crippled god like an hour ago so I can finally watch this!
Nicely done! I’m surprised you aren’t in shock right now and can actually communicate!!
@@IskarJarak I had several paragraphs that made me laugh and cry at the same time. I couldn't even tell you how many emotions that are going through me atm lol I feel like a have a deeper appreciation for life though!
Nice! Now you are full fledged in the channel and can be part of all of my spoiler filled rants! Lol 💪
@@IskarJarak I need a bridge burner patch now lol
Kruppe reminds me of Mocker from Dread Empire by Glen Cook.
Haven't watched this yet, but if Karsa Orlong isn't in the top three, i'm gonna lose my shit.
Haha, stop watching!! 🤪
Haha, thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the video and look forward to having you around for future vids!!
@@IskarJarak The thing is… I am a czech republic native and as you can guess the names masivelly masivelly differ in czech. So half of the time I have no idea who you're talking about. Hopefully I'll get accustomed to it soon enough :)
So many great characters
Right?!?!
Quick Ben and Karsa didn’t make the cut eh?
Karsa was in there as an honorable mention. Quick is awesome and I love him to death, I just couldn’t decide who to take out!!
Kruppe is my favorite. He's basically me if i was intelligent.
How could you not even mention Tehol? Or Quick Ben and Kalam? Cotillion also deserved a mention.
That's an amazing idea. "Smartest Characters in the Malazan World"--really appreciate the ideas! Keep them coming!!
Karsa, Rake, Quick Ben, Kalam, Kruppe, Tehol, Caladan Brood, Kallor, Udinaas, Warleader Gall
That’s a good list! 💪🙏
I forgot about Gruntle. He makes the top five.
Gruntle definitely! He’s a boss!
Itkovian bugs my shit out personaly!
Agree to disagree

Beak!!!
💯 one of the best of the whole series!
One of My favourite Will always be Cotillion/Dancer/Dorin Rav hehe... In the beggining of the series You think like "this god is not cool" but men You see him progress in all the books and he is a really Nice god/dude... And all his history in Path to Ascendacy is great!!!!
Agreed. He’s one of my favorites for sure. Especially after PtA. Good dude and meeting Baudin Sr.! 👀💯🔥
No Cotillion? Aw. :(
He’s a great character too! Good dude, especially in the Path to Ascendancy! We’re gonna need a bigger list 😂
@@IskarJarak Yeah, so many awesome and unique characters.
Also, that scene with Cotillion at the end of Bonehunters.
👌

Hail Shield Anvil.
Jan from OST is my favorite ICE character!
That’s a good one!!
i love ganoes as well, master of the deck!
Skulldeath
Skull death is a great one! I was man crushing on Skulldeath and Hellian in my livestream!! Thanks for the comment-you’re the first to mention him!! What a G!!!!

G stands for “geniusly written, incredibly profound” 😜

Oh, hahaha... my bad! I wouldn't be surprised if people don't like my choices though since there's so many other good ones that could have easily made the list! I wouldn't have had hurt feelings either way!! But you're definitely right--Worst Characters would be a GREAT video. Thanks so much for watching!! I'm going to add that one to my list.
