All I can say is I totally relate. I had a family, house, business etc... now its me myself and I. 65 yrs in body and 25 in mind. Lost so many family members in their mid 60`s now looking to the future without a copilot. I watch all of your videos for real life & inspiration. So its back on the road again 🚚 I`m going to "live" life while I still can....

Our St. Bernard Coco passed almost a year ago. Ugh, the feelings aren’t as frequent, but they are still strong. I miss that girl. I’m sure it’s similar for you and Sober. Safe travels brother.
I agree with you about relationships...a lot of people are in them for the wrong reason: for what the other person can do for them. The attitude of 'giving' is a thing of the past. Christianity is also going by the wayside, it's sad society can't see that the further we get away from God, the worse things get. Hang in there, keep your faith and things will get better.

Good video, Mike, always heartfelt, I can relate, being a deeper soul, I don’t enjoy a lot of shallow, idle chitchat in life, as the years click away, I seem to be struggling more with finding conversations with family and friends, everybody seems to be in a shallow Mindset, ho hum drifting through life. I wasn’t raised in a family that went to church so that is always been a struggle for me and as I get older, I am searching for more clarity in that area God, and continue to pray that he will help me find the answers, it’s kind of a lonely road, but sometimes I think that is OK sometimes you have to loose yourself to find yourself. Always enjoy your genuine content. 🤓👍

I hear ya when it comes to relationships! I have been single for about 8 yrs and am not even looking! Like you said ppl have become so self absorbed that it's hard to find anyone compatible! I was getting into relationships that were only one sided and of course that's not going to work. For now I'm happy with it being just me and my adult daughter, she has always been a Mamas girl so I have been enjoying that and my relationship with the Lord, without him I would be lost! I owe him my life....always! Well, you keep your head up, stay positive and keep Jesus in your life and you will be great! Blessings to you....always! 🙏✌️

I lost my Mom to Lung cancer and my Dad to a tornado when it capsized the boat. Then I had to have open heart surgery. Take care, rest, stay and help family. Always keep God first. Did you drive to your current location in your SUV or did you take your camper? Here in Ohio it's finally warmed back up into the thirties there for several days we had single digit highs and wind chills in the Sub-Zero temperatures. Now that's cold.

At 71 my health is failing quickly and like you said the important thing is to be ready for our new life. My family is scattered about the US. I rarely see them. They are all busy with their lives. I am blessed to have my caring husband since 1966. I count my blessings.

Hey brother, as I'm 67, but still doing ok, alone has it's time but as for me I seriously pray for you and all the stuff you're having to deal with! Most of my family have passed on except one sister. I've not had a serious relationship in about 10 years. There was one short thing that made me realize how much I miss that special person in my life. Do the things you must to be there for your loved ones, pray and pursue God's plan for you! He is my retirement plan! I've watched you go thru some stuff! Since the van and the cabin in Minn. Just know you've a friend here in Fla. I've never been a negative presence towards you only vicariously lived the nomad life thru you! My hope is , perhaps once I actually retire I can do some rv/ traveling lifestyle. And I again pray for your best life, doing what ever God puts in your path.

The struggle is real, mentally, and physically.
I finally got out of the van after 5 years. Did a small cabin in the forest for a year, and now into a nice apt on top of a hill overlooking the forest that is unbelievably super reasonably priced.... but.... health is crumbling (I'm 58 now, somehow) and miles from decent healthcare.
Still happy and free.
Life is an adventure.

I never understood midlife crisis. Now being midlife, i understand it. The looking back, losing your parents, other family, asking yourself what is the point of all this, knowing you are on the otherside of the hill and only have so much time left, etc. Hang in there. Your path forward will become clear.

Dear Mike I believe you are on the right path you have to take care of yourself first. And you're right it is hard and lonley when i lost my dog sparky then in may of last year my wife of 36 wonderful years pastaway i tried to leave with her and ended up hurting my children i lost everything so now i live in a small van and it is lonely but we must never give up as we help others with our sheard pain. And remember to tell your loved ones every day all day you love them tomorrow is never guaranteed. So glad my wife heard it from me and truly felt it as i did as well. Hang in there there maybe weeping in the evening but joy comith in the morning.

Hi Mike! I am still in AZ, headed to Tucson tomorrow to a youtuber meet up. I may head to Apache Junction if I get a chance, to meet a man of God whose testimony is amazing, was in a homeless shelter, and God completely delivered him from addiction! And he has never looked back, met him in GA back in 2019 during our Grace Tour(33 USA States, to meet people hardcore like us about God, met 13 people who have raised the dead), ask God, He will put the right people in your path! When you seek Him with all your heart- He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him❤🙋♀️🛻🇨🇦❤️‼️
Mike I been following you since the early Van days. You and a few others are the OG’s of this lifestyle. I learned so much from you before I started traveling and when I built my first van. Because of family I was never able to go full time. Just weekend or week long trips. I’m 55 and semi retired and have the money to retire and go full time. I still flip classic cars and home to have something to do. But if I’m going to do this full time I need to get after it.
The family part hit home with me. In the last few years I lost my mom and grandmother and an aunt. My kids are grown and I’m a grandfather now. I’m the head of the family I guess you say. I have nobody left to go to for advice. The kids come to me with problems. It’s just different as we get older and loved ones pass. I think I will sell everything and build a camper out of a small box truck, Cube van with a 12ft box. I don’t want a big RV. My last van I put a high top on and it was perfect. I just need room to build a shower stall. A 12ft box will allow me to do that. And I’m going to buy a power station like you just had in the video to keep it simple. It can charge when I drive. I would put a big solar panel on the roof for when I’m starting for a few days. I believe I will buy some land in Alabama or Louisiana to have a home base. A place to build a shop and work on projects. I need to get away from the Indiana winters. I still want to be a 12hrs drive away from my grandkids. Plus they can come see me. I would love to have a place out west, and I may buy some land out there. West Texas and NM have cheap land. Look forward to more videos Mike. Like to know the number of people like myself you have inspired over the years. I remember when it was just you and Chad from (Living the van life). Then he stopped for many years. You been a big inspiration to me. 🇺🇸🦅

With all that's going on in the world, I think many of us question where we are, how we got here, and the big question "why".
I have faith and look to God to supply you with a big dose of His joy while being with your loved ones.
You should look at yourself in the mirror and be proud of the man you've always been. Who has remained steadfast on the course written for him and has not turned away from God, our Father, no matter the trials.
You have many that will continue to support you in daily prayer, as you find the opportunity to create new happy memories with your family.

Sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we have to adjust to the situation. He's not making excuses, his parents' health is deteriorating and he will have to spend more time focusing on them.
