  • Black bears are on the prowl again and top of the menu is honeybee hives. I'm starting up a new yard this year at a medical marijuana farm (more videos of that to come) but first priority is to get the solar powered electric fence up and running. Watch how it's done. All parts available at my store in Hampden. check my website www.BeeWhisperer.us

This is the best electric installation I have seen - clear direction and thorough. Thanks.

I must say that this is the only video that I have come across that actually explains step by step on how to build an electrical fence. You make it seem so much easier and way less complicated that all other videos and blogs out there. Thank you!!

Came here looking for this comment. I have a package and a nuc ordered. One hive and a second on the way. Need to get my fencing up soon. Haven't found a good video of it until now. Thank you.

It would have been helpful if you could have shown a little more detail about how you looped the fence without cutting the wire, but overall, it was an excellent video! Thank you!!

Just wanted to say thank you for the detailed demonstration. I've spent a couple of hours looking for a video to show me how to install a poly rope based fence. For someone who's never set one up and is construction challenged, this is the best one I've found. I'm confident now that I can install one to protect my chicken coop and run.

Thank you for showing this in detail. Huge help for those like myself who are new to DIY. And by the way it was easier to learn from such an incredibly handsome man !!

Can you share more information on the solar pak energizer you are using, it was hard to see in the video what the number was. Thanks

First of all, excellent and detailed video. THANK YOU. 👍👍 Secondly, what are the dimensions of your fence? L X W / Sqft? I've got 3 hives coming in and I want to make sure I've got a good setup for them.

Interesting to watch. On the farm as kids we had the electric fence for the cattle and pigs. Got zapped more than once since I'm thick headed. Grass and weeds would short out the fence so we had to check it all the time. Do weeds short out these newer machines? Do you put the bacon strip on the line to train the bears? The bears can sure make a mess of a bee yard. And don't pee on the wire. LOL

It is a very powerful enegizer capable of dealing with quite a bit of grass but always best to clear it regularly for best effect. I dont bait the fence but am open to doing so if I have a problem.

Do you raise the energizer up to clear the snow in the winter? Or leave it where it is?

What gauge wire are you using for your connection from the charger?

@@springcitybeefarm5971 i would love to see your idea on the gate as I would like all wires ro connect to a movable pole, rather than the 3 separate strands. Perhaps others might be interested, also.
