Changed my Highlander battery and screen went blank and would come on and off sometimes as I drove. I followed this method thinking in the back of my mind it was a scam video because of waiting 5 minutes, but it actually worked and this is a month later. I decided to find this video again and save it in case it happens again. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it is helping a lot of people.
Absolute genius. My screen kept shutting off and turning back on in a loop. Tried the same instructions from the video and it actually. I was slightly skeptical as I did not see those steps in the manual but you saved me a lot of headaches. Thank you

I would suggest that you change the title. I searched for three days before I found your video. I would suggest " How to do a hard reset on 20-23 Toyota Highlander radio with navigation/ infotainment center."
I also swapped out the battery to my 2020 highlander recently and had this issue. I thought the video was a spoof, wouldn't work, but it did! My radio is working again, can't thank you enough!
I just give a try on 2022 Xse Highlander. Woow...it fixed disturted sounds during phone call. i just tried it today, am about to remove the negative terminal on my battery. but i try this first, i ddnt regret. thank you...

Will this work for a 2016? Radio stopped working. Took it to the dealership and they quote me over 3k to see what’s wrong with it not including what they’re going to charge me to fix it. 😢
I have a 2021 Highlander that the screen goes black on and I loose the radio then the radio comes back and final the screen. It seems to do it while driving. Its happened several times with weeks in-between. I have not had the battery replaced yet. I wondered if there is some kind of software update needed.
I just bought a pre-owned grand Highlander 2024 from online auction but unfortunately the multi media screen is locked with a password I don't Whether by the previous owner or because the battery was dead.
Amazing! This fixed my radio/satellite radio/GPS. I think the key to know if this will work for your car is - does the screen/camera come on when you put the car in reverse? If so this procedure will likely fix it. I read on another post that the radio acts up after battery problems. When the car is started back up and put in to drive/reverse before the radio/sound system can fully reboot, it goes into a weird boot loop. This procedure allows that full reboot to happen and like magic it works again! Thank you for sharing this we had 3 people at the dealer trying to fix this with no luck.
@@jeffevans5708 So my radio is freezing and restarting on it's own while listening to CarPlay. I have done it once where I waited for 5 minutes following exactly what this guy did in here. Today I realized that owner of this video did not wait 5 minutes on this video. He waited from 11:26 to 11:27 on his car clock. So I'm not even sure what kind of result I should be expecting.

Seriously does work. Took about 30 seconds after putting it back into park but radio is up and running.

I’m not sure this fix is a solution to CarPlay issues. It did fix my blacked out screen and radio problems
What about when you have your phone linked through the Toyota App. Do you lose all your personal info from the infotainment unit
