Bobby, I concur I ended getting the last two just to finish the set. But yeah it’s like they had two different designers! I placed Swindle and Brawl up front and placed the mixed match brothers in the back!! :)
I know what you mean about the tolerances, some of the pegs to join panels together are ridiculously tight. I did eventually discover a ratcheted bicep swivel on Vortex but again it's super tight and you get a couple of clicks before it hits the back of the chopper. I'm a bit underwhelmed by these last two but looking at him combined, I'm still happy with them.
For Blast Off, you have to separate the shuttle's upper section so there's clearance for the bicep swivel to work. It leaves a gap though, with only the nosecone hooking the section into place. For Vortex, the bicep swivel works better, but you might need to angle or separate the helicopter's upper section a bit for more movement.
He must have bi-cep swivel. It's impossible for UT to have released something like this without one. I hope booby Skullface's, re-examines this articulation.
it swivels a bit more (after pushing it to a point where it feels like youre going to break the thing apart) but at a full swivel it pushes out the arms bots back plates
Would the use of Onslaught's thigh joint instead of splitting the thigh give it even more height instead of the extended thigh? This one's personally my favorite MP Bruticus so I look forward to completing the set. Glad to see you got to it first so i know what to look forward to!
would you do a comparison video/discussion video between this and the zeta bruticus when thats released? seems like there are benefits to both and could use a head to head comparison
The biggest issue is the aesthetics.... Especially those last 2 figures. It's like they started off going for an MP scale and aesthetic then they realized they were a bit too small so they went towards an IDW / modern look. For me, it's Zeta, for both the combined mode and the individual bots. If I had this set, I would go with the shorter version in combined mode, b/c I can't handle those proportions in extended mode.
There is a full swivel at the elbow and wrist. The combined gun is bulky and useless so I agree less is more useful in the that case but he can hold the gun just like your devy. Unique toys did entice us with swindle but let us down with the last 2. Anyone notice that no pre production samples were ever sent out of the last 2 or am I mistaken. My plan is still unique toys and starscream for my starscream brigade diorama and zeta combined mode.
in the words of Han Solo "I know" but being as though anyone who isnt a complete simpleton knows that they are SO similar in spelling and pronounciation... shit happens :)
Looks okay i guess, scalewise as you said not working for me. My mind hasnt been changed, ill be waiting for MMCs version i think having the hands already in the bot to fold out for combination is the smartest thing to do a combiner and something we might see more of if it turns out to be good. Yes MMC have had some stinkers in the past but their try for a combiner didnt suck at all so hopefully 2 for 2
I mean should Bruticus be bigger than Devastator? I dont think so, Devastator is composed of 6 bots all are construction vehicles which are by nature very big. I think Bruticus is ok to be a bit smaller. The issue I have is he looks really skinny. I know you mentioned this with the extended legs. Lean and mean Bruticus.... ehh meh. I am curious to see the Zeta combined I think it will be better in that mode but the robot modes for the Zeta.... no so great. But hey we will see. The hardest thing for any combiner, seems to be trying to be as good as Toy World Devastator.
Do you have any chug combiners that you recommend? I have maketoys computron and defenser and I'm looking for something more to round out my collection.
I know 100% where you´re gettin at: Swindle looks way too G1-plain-ish and the others just end up very stylized, however (doing the Bobby here): Swindle was also a Jeep in IDW and I honestly believe UT´s reason for this was to pair him in IDW G1, maybe even with GT stuff like Havoc and that´s why I´m getting that. I also do believe that the wobble you talked about is due to your decision to display him with extended thighs and I do believe that the collapsing thighs on Onslaught are just for the transformation process and not for combined mode, because if you put him next to Havoc, with compressed legs, the size totally will work, it´ll be more stable and the sleekness will also work with Havoc. Great review as always though, good sir. Thank you.
The asthetic differences don't bother me very much, maybe because I'm pondering the dubious thought of using this beside my voyager/deluxe/Planet X scale
The old Greg/silver chest piece u swapped out is used for the bottom skirt of bruticus to give him full cover of the sides and buttocks of bruticus if someone here didn't mention that already
No offense bobby, but I feel like my choice is this guy, though I'm gonna get the zeta as well, my problems with this set was the scaling of the combaticons, I thought they were way too small, minus swindle, if they were the same scale as those g1 special team animation model pictures, then I think this bruticus would be awesome, the joints needed more work though, I will agree the zeta is money making in bruty mode,
Well, for all the disappointment up to 9:10, I had to pause right here and take in that he really does look siginficantly better than Warbo Bruticus, and therefore better than os Warbo Brut as well, which are the two sets I currently have.
When comparing Bruticus and Devastator in my head i can see Bruticus being slightly smaller because hes made of 5 different figures, while Devastator is made of 6. But the difference in the actual size of the figures for ToyWorld and UniqueToys makes them seem too different. Having seen the full set for UniqueToys nothing has even slightly shaken my belief in Zeta. It does seem like a cool set though so im happy for the people who bought it and didnt get ripped off due to the combined mode.
I think they rushed Blast Off and Vortex when they saw how Zeta was doing. It was a race to the finish line and UT won, but in the end they released a rushed, inferior product that brings the whole thing down.
Seriously how hard is it for any designer to make a decent Combaticons/Bruticus set. Yes Zeta's Bruticus Hands down blows UT's Bruticus outta the water but their bots are horrific looking. UT's bots *DID LOOK GOOD BUT WTF HAPPEN!??* Hahah I'm seriously scratching my head and lol bout this. Here's hoping MMC's will solve the problem both ZT and UT's had. *#FINGERSCROSSED*
Evidently it is very hard to make any kind of G1 Combiner set as I've had major problems with a lot of them including all of the Constructicon sets, which I am still hoping (along with Bruticus) will be done better at some point in the future.
Oh I think he looks really nice 👍🏻 it’s a shame he isn’t gonna get those dynamic poses but oh well! I do still like the individual robots. I’m glad I have the zeta set and unique toys! Thank you for the review and hard work you put into your videos........your thought off highly in my household! Your so funny with a bit of a temper 👍🏻🤣
Rn I’m basing my sizes off of my Devastator. He’s hovering about 19 inches and I believe he or Predaking should be biggest. This scale fits and I like the size but Zeta looks so much better looking, he’s just way too big for what I want. Plus they are all too expensive for me. I was able to find the cheapest Zeta around 299
Fair review Bobby, I actually forgot to collapse the thighs in my review so I had the taller version for the entire review. Definitely more stable collapsed. Excited to see your zeta review.
Great review, Bobby. Just want to know your opinion on the Bumblebee movie trailer that just dropped. What do you think about the designs of Bumblebee and Star scream? They look awesome to me. Gave me the g1 vibe, and looks alot basic and better than the bayformers :).
Bobby. I respect you. And I love your videos. But you and I differ on our opinions on kos and combiner scales. And this set is why I will never get rid of my custom KO OS warbotron. His scale is the same size as the taller version of this figure and his paint job is pristine, he’s almost perfectly proportioned, and he’s an overall better figure. And he’s one of the few bruticus’ I know of that can pull off the color change from a blue onslaught to a silver body.
Excellent review as always! I'm so glad I passed on this for Zeta. What a bummer on the lack of a bicep swivel, in this day and age that's just not acceptable for me. Well done Bobby, thanks for taking the time to make this video and keep us informed.
I really like this, but I'm already in on Zeta, and I don't like Bruticus enough to have two of him. I'm surprised you don't like how they look as a team, because they come across as pretty slick looking to me. Different strokes!
I'm so glad I passed on this set. Combined mode doesn't do it for me and the bots are such a mixed bag, that I don't really want these for bot representations either. Hurry up Zeta and give us Onslaught!
I made my choice based on having a solid combiner, so I chose Zeta. After watching this review, I know I made the right choice. As always, thank you for this review Bobby.
Very often the same kind of construction vehicle comes in variable sizes, all the way up to mine/mining size, which can be huge. Military vehicles generally start out large (but not mining large in many cases) except for that jeep which is very small (and is way out of date IMO for an upgrade to Oshkosh/MRAP truck or something that would scale well in this regard, but not for pure G1 obviously, just not a Humvee that still doesn't scale well).
ZetZatar not always going to work. Impossible to get all of the TW limbs separately now. Folks got lucky they released a set. That definitely wont happen with every combiner
This makes me a sad man. Wanted this Bruticus to work but it just doesn't. The individuals look good in Alt-mode though. But I don't really display in Alt much... Looks like Zeta!
actually I much prefer this size compare to TW devy. Because , you know , I always think that since Starscream make Bruticus , it should looks slightly shorter then Devy , which make more sense to me haha
Naaaaaw. Looks like TW-C07 would bent him over and apply some 10-40. UT-Not Bruticus is an MP-Fail. My MP-11 King still has no back up. Not going on my shelf. P.S. Is there any news what so ever on FT-Not Devi? I wanna see that before i dope $500 on TW-C07
Boy did they drop the ball on those last three bot modes. Started good ended poorly. As for combine mode looks ok but not what I am interested in. Hopefully Zeta will not disappoint.
I am in the same boat with you Bobby. I also have to say that I don't like the arms at all. Besides the issue with the tabs and the arm bots its one of the best Bruticus combiners, I have seen. keep up the great reviews.
Spot on about the set progressing from super g1 accurate Swindle and Brawl, to in the middle Onslaught, to who-the-heck-are-these-guys Vortex and Blastoff..... Combined mode looks good but it's the wrong scale. I personally bought this set for the bots and I'm overall satisfied..... Get review sir and I hope ZT Onslaught is epic.....
I've been saying someone should do a 'toon style chestplate for ages. I'd heard that it would be formed of parts detaching from BlastOff, though. :-( Shame, that'd've been really cool. I think you've hit the nail on the head with this review.
Did someone say give it a leg up? Man, I hate to sound like everyone else, but I am quite happy with my decision to go all in on Zeta. I just prefer the bulk and size over this look, and I know a lot of people hate the bot modes, but, I am fine with the Zeta bot modes, they are very reminiscent of the G1 toys moreso than these, but once the Onslaught arrives they will be combined for good anyway. I do dislike how off the proportions seem to be on the UT Bruticus though. The torso and thighs just look too narrow to me. All subjective I know. Solid review as always, Bobby!
Interesteing and sort of mixed review and you can tell by the comments. So far this is as close to G1 individual figures available, just a little FYI. Second this is not and we already knew this was not a comparison for Zeta, I totally understand we're you are coming from and I hate it that we are unable to get a complete package but hey at least we have choices. Now maybe just maybe Bobby is going the same route I'm going, getting UT for individual bots and Zeta for combined cause let's face it the only figure Zeta have that comes close to G1 is Onslaught. That's right only 1. At least with UT you get 3.5 a really close 5 for me.
I hope I am not to late to tell you you called Brawl Brawn YoOU FoOOLL! The blastoff chest does look better than I thought it would though. Im holding out for mmc and hopefully it isnt tiny (so to speak)
Thank God for zeta combined mode. I still think the individual bots on this fella are fantastic but I'll probably never combine them. It's a shame the zeta bots are basically trash but I know the combined mode will be killer.
20 seconds in and I'm surprised to hear you might be confirming my. After the first 3 looking so strikingly toon accurate I was second gussing myself for not having been in on this set from day one. In fact, once Onslaught came out, I probably would have bought all three if swindle had not been sold out by then. But when the last two started showing up online they were not triggering my geewuuuuun dopamine reasponse system. I was just assuming I may not have remembered how they looked, but now I'm guessing you've compared them and are gonna say they are NOT toon accurate. Busted! Okay, that's my guess. Now that I've officially regiatered it, time for me to watch the review.
We are all to blame for that vision, that thirst, that image in our mind of how we want our combiners to look like. To suit our individual tastes. So it must be so hard for companies to create a team that's perfect in bot, vehicle and combined modes. Knowing what sacrifices must be needed and having to put up with that mole on ya face attitude they plough on. They tried so kudos, but like the legacy every other combiner leaves behind is.. ahhh it's almost there but it lacks something even so small it ruins the meal. Like the plastic choice or skipped leg day mode. Next up.. zeta to the plate please Let's hope their onslaught isn't left feeling like he's photobombing a robot boy band...
Man, the drinking game for how many times Skullface mistakenly called Brawl, Brawn is extremely short. I kid of course I think collectors would be please with either one of these Bruticuses..or whatever plural it is in their collection.
in the words of Han Solo "I know" but being as though anyone who isnt a complete simpleton knows that they are SO similar in spelling and pronunciation... shit happens :) and i agree with you
in the words of Han Solo "I know" but being as though anyone who isnt a complete simpleton knows that they are SO similar in spelling and pronunciation... shit happens :)
They baited us with swindle first lol We got swindled lol Idk mr skullface ,doesn’t scream bruticus at me ya know ? Love the new vid style although I miss your rambling and skits . Great review
lol idk... I like team mode... not sold on combine mode...I HATE WHEN 3RD PARTIES DO THIS (takes me bac to a young teen DJ AllDay whom just went out on his 1st date and she says "just the movies, nothing else is going to happen"). 😒
I love the look - except the thighs and size. I like big thighs and I cannot lie. I'm just gonna wait for something I'd be happy with. It feels like a figure that doesn't have a fit - too big for chug, too short for MP. Probably looks great with Hasbro Devy, but.....
"bleep", I had high hopes 4 this, 😕 they dropped the ball on this. ZETA it is then, Great review man.. but these guys - it was like finding out about Santa..smh.
Bobby, I concur I ended getting the last two just to finish the set. But yeah it’s like they had two different designers! I placed Swindle and Brawl up front and placed the mixed match brothers in the back!! :)

not full, but after i FORCED it i di get more
Bobby Skullface. My vortex arm was smooth but blastoff was little stiff so I feel it's an individual result will vary type of situation.
Combaticon tank is called Brawl
Brawn is the G1 Autobot and the first to die in TFTM
Sameer Malik *-deep dessert brawl- birthday quake

I love the UT Bruticus. Wish i would own one.
So summed up, individual robots fall short, combined mode is pretty good, and size does matter!..got it...great video Bobby..thx
EXACTLY
I mean should Bruticus be bigger than Devastator? I dont think so, Devastator is composed of 6 bots all are construction vehicles which are by nature very big. theyre "supposed" to be the same size
Is this good for chug scale? Warbotron's issues put me off so this Bruticus is where I'm looking next
Do you have any chug combiners that you recommend? I have maketoys computron and defenser and I'm looking for something more to round out my collection.
As always, your reviews are very helpful in my decision making process. My Man!

Great review as always though, good sir. Thank you.
The asthetic differences don't bother me very much, maybe because I'm pondering the dubious thought of using this beside my voyager/deluxe/Planet X scale
So how does this set stack up to their previous effort "Ordin" (aka Abominus)?
its far better in terms of stability but perhaps not cohesiveness
Bobby I can live with bruticus being shorter then Dev five bot compared to six bots so I'm OK with the hight but biceps are a must
I wanted the bot modes on the shelf and so far this is the best option for that IMO. Definitely not perfect though.
Blastoff and Vortex are a huge WTF for me. I really liked brawl and swindle. This was the first time I have seen the other 3
The old Greg/silver chest piece u swapped out is used for the bottom skirt of bruticus to give him full cover of the sides and buttocks of bruticus if someone here didn't mention that already
How much arm spread does he have in a 'pec flyes' type movement? And why does no reviewer ever mention this?
No offense bobby, but I feel like my choice is this guy, though I'm gonna get the zeta as well, my problems with this set was the scaling of the combaticons, I thought they were way too small, minus swindle, if they were the same scale as those g1 special team animation model pictures, then I think this bruticus would be awesome, the joints needed more work though, I will agree the zeta is money making in bruty mode,

It's like they were at first going to go cartoon accurate G1 and then just went off the rails with their own ideas.

*#FINGERSCROSSED*
Or wait until Fans Toys gets theirs out. They're working on Superion, so Bruticus should be in their sights...
Hopefully before we die of old age. xD
Evidently it is very hard to make any kind of G1 Combiner set as I've had major problems with a lot of them including all of the Constructicon sets, which I am still hoping (along with Bruticus) will be done better at some point in the future.
MultiJamesman Have you tried Maketoyes Green Giant?
When's MMC 's version coming out?
Even the Swindle and Brawl aren’t completely accurate. They take liberties just like Blast Off and Vortex so they all look like a team

The upscaled KO Warbotron is still betterwhile being a LOT cheaper
Thanks for the review Bobby.
Bobby. I respect you. And I love your videos. But you and I differ on our opinions on kos and combiner scales. And this set is why I will never get rid of my custom KO OS warbotron. Hi skull face, I have an chance to get this guy quite cheap atm, and was wondering what the plastic quality of this guy was
Those last bots suck, it's like they 're from a totally different set. I think I'll be keeping swindle, and maybe brawl. A sad end to the set.
Excellent review as always! I'm so glad I passed on this for Zeta. What a bummer on the lack of a bicep swivel, in this day and age that's just not acceptable for me. Well done Bobby, thanks for taking the time to make this video and keep us informed.
I realize Im quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Hudson Wells flixportal :P
@Kenneth Daniel Thank you, I signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it !!
@Hudson Wells you are welcome =)
I really like this, but I'm already in on Zeta, and I don't like Bruticus enough to have two of him. I'm surprised you don't like how they look as a team, because they come across as pretty slick looking to me. Different strokes!
ok,made up my mind..im gonna go for UT,no partsforming, solid fig and for me,scale wise, devy is suppose to be bigger than the other combiners..kudos UT
I'm so glad I passed on this set. Combined mode doesn't do it for me and the bots are such a mixed bag, that I don't really want these for bot representations either. Hurry up Zeta and give us Onslaught!
ZT Blitzkrieg is supposed to release in July..... so patience my lad.
Ill wait and see how Zeta turns out. Another great review
I made my choice based on having a solid combiner, so I chose Zeta. After watching this review, I know I made the right choice.
As always, thank you for this review Bobby.
Which is bigger? Construction vehicles or Military vehicles?
Doesn't matter. The combined modes' sizes are what's important, and the two should be roughly the same size.
Jordan Harrington all depends on the individual vehicles.
This is not the you have to realize devastation is a 6 bot combine bruticus is five therefore the variation in size makes sense
Dreadlord Liu Omg that’s true, Devastator should be bigger
Bruti bringing 80s shoulder pads back!
This is why I wait on combiner figures until they’re all out. I was all in at first, but am all out now.
It looks ok, even in combined mode, I'd rather have that grey chest than that shuttle chest. But I would say more towards Zeta Toys' Bruticus.
I think Zeta Bruticus is 55cm. Devy clocks in at 50cm. It's going to be HUGE!
When you're spelling Ragnarok but got struck in the head by a baseball whilst typing; resulting in Ragnoros.
actually I much prefer this size compare to TW devy.
Glad I'm going with Zeta lol, although I do like the look of the UT Onslaught more
Boy did they drop the ball on those last three bot modes.
You have to collapse onslaughts legs more. Then the legs lock.
you have to watch the whole video

1:44 - No "All The Way Up" reference?? *sigh*
It's a shame the zeta bots are basically trash but I know the combined mode will be killer.
i think two are
So now we don't have a set to display in bot mode because they both look bad
Not Swindle is sold out everywhere anyway... so
wow! looks great, HOWEVER bulk & size don't match TW devy. solid review!
Watch Zeta get everything right, then fudge up the Head Sculpt =p. *Jinx*.
Great Review! C'mon Fanstoys, let's get it right!
Nathan Simmons Fanstoys will introduce their Combaticons in 2033 at the rate they release their products.
Next up.. zeta to the plate please
Let's hope their onslaught isn't left feeling like he's photobombing a robot boy band...
Pass. Thank you Bubbee...
I guess I'll be i waiting for the other 3rd party......mt ? Ft?
That was quick
Man, the drinking game for how many times Skullface mistakenly called Brawl, Brawn is extremely short. I kid of course I think collectors would be please with either one of these Bruticuses..or whatever plural it is in their collection.
in the words of Han Solo "I know" but being as though anyone who isnt a complete simpleton knows that they are SO similar in spelling and pronunciation... shit happens :) and i agree with you
True, "Han" Skullface or Bobby Solo..huh it needs work.
Isn't it Ragnaros, not Ragnoros?
He looks like a hipster with skinny 👖 lol... with that said zeta is the way to go!
Thanks Bobby. This really helped. Ordering Zeta’s now.
The combined mode just doesn't satisfy...so to speak. 😝
Lol #SoToSpeak
Green tank’s name is Brawl. Not Brawn. Brawn is Autobot, not a Decepticon.

They baited us with swindle first lol
We got swindled lol
Idk mr skullface ,doesn’t scream bruticus at me ya know ?
Love the new vid style although I miss your rambling and skits .
Great review
Need more wine: Brawn Brawl. But don't need more whine from us about that. lol....great review as always.
Very, very, very disapointed by this figure !
Good workk, good design, good color, but not a good Bruticus G1 !
When Bobby runs out of FKS
Yeeesh
I’m out on all of the current offerings.
Too bad it doesnt have biceps swivel and some loose parts. I actually like UT design better than Zeta.
Bobby, no offense, but if you keep calling Brawl "Brawn", I'm going to throw myself into a pit af Sharkticons.
aaahh mayby yea or better no, no no, sorry ragnoros you got to go back to the unique toy factory to get fixed up!!
Wobble-dy wobble-dy wa wobble wobblin’...
JediLateForTheBattleAgainOhWell Hahah almost sounds like a Kanye flow lol.
Where's Thor? Ragnoros is a FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
Parts forming ftw! The thighs are hot garbage on this. Looking like zeta is going to win
Yeah they should've dodged the molded detail, it throws the whole thing off lol They almost had it tho 😂
Brawl not bron
"bleep", I had high hopes 4 this, 😕 they dropped the ball on this. ZETA it is then, Great review man.. but these guys - it was like finding out about Santa..smh.
The extended thighs look stupid like its mistransformed. I don't see how the extra cm could be that important.
> one CM
Last two are really done sloppy.
Arms are too loose to hold guns.
LOL!!!
Poor thing, he keeps smacking himself in the face with his upper arms!
