Wasn't Mererangi Paul twice she had Ruby on the outside and didn't pass. She kicked for herself then got tackled just short of the line. Ruby actually passed her the ball for her first try. But hey nice unselfish inside pass for Ruby to score
I was thinking that their passing accuracy is better also as the player is running onto the ball without having to baulk a bit when receiving the ball.
Silky skills on display! Looking awesome! The new lock on debut-loved seeing her running back to make a try saving tackle! She's going to be one to watch for sure!
They are good and they have incredible potential but it will take time to develop those connections between players, especially timing. Not to single out any players but there is 1 or 2 that I really don't think will make the cut when it comes to playing against England or France, maybe they were selected to fill the spots that don't have a lot of talent or I am not sure. What I do see is they need a lot more work to lift to the level of England, so hopefully they can really grow as a unit and get those connections right and eliminate some of those errors which seem to come into play with fatigue and poor decision making. I love the BlackFerns and I still get emotional when I watch the world cup win in New Zealand, I think I have watched it over 20 times, so I hope and pray they can develop into a well rounded well balanced force of nature and take the next world cup, I think England will be their real test in September, I do think it will take more time before they can take England in their own backyard though..
Question: for the next World Cup, do we integrate the 7s girls again? Or do we build on our XVs only talent to win back to back? It worked last time but I believe that was out of necessity. This time there is a lot more depth and we are a more professional outfit. Stacey Waka was epic last World Cup but Du Plesis is solid and a great talent too. Either way the women’s game is strong and we need to lift to take on the French and English.
I think the girls will be annoyed with how they slowed up after the first 20! Definitely a lot to work on but decent start! On a brighter note the jerseys look sick AF
Well done wahine toa 1:47 This one was a mile forward lol 3:10 Paul had a good game but needs to stop being hungus. That was one of the most greedy plays I’ve ever seen. Pass the ball 🤦♀️
Do the people of Hamilton/Waikato not care about supporting the Black Ferns? So many empty seats for a team that represents us so well, and works so hard to become better every game they play.
*Very impressed with Hannah King!!! She came in and there was noticeable change in the way the backline and forwards moved on the offence. The return of Baker saw a rather aggressive strong and impactful ball carrier, it was just awesome to watch!!! Maia Joseph, while she did well in box kicking, would need to have the sense of urgency in her play I reckon! Her distribution from the back of the breakdown and scrum was a little slow, and her spatial awareness was patchy at times, particularly when she isolated Mererangi Paul with her pass whilst the team was spread out at the other side of the field! She would also need to introduce in her game sniping runs, but she seems to lack the quickness of a halfback!!! Still think that the Auckland halfback Kahlia Awa has all the attributes of the inside half and could be a devastating member of the Black Ferns! Overall, the whole team worked hard. Love to see Maama Vaipulu settled down in her first game. Her high work rate was impressive! Still not sure of Charmaine's contribution to the team!*
@@DarkMoonWayfarer Charmaine has seemingly lost her mongrel DNA after she recovered from that unfortunate neck injury she was having, an important aspect in the lock position!!! I reviewed that USA try, and found that she completely missed the try scorer!!! Liana Mikaele went low in stopping the try, which is something Charmaine would never do, and she went high to stop the try - and she was halfhearted at the effort!!! Her general game was below average - at set pieces and general support play! Riding on history, isn't a good sign with the Black Ferns management in this instance and more importantly, sustaining honest mistakes can be rectified. In her case, she would need to have an honest look into herself if her consciousness of her former injury is preventing her to come out as an aggressive mongrel for the position in breakdowns making her a liability to the whole team unit effort, or NOT!
I think Joanna Ngan Woo I'm not sure if I spelt her name right, offers more than CS in my own opinion in both attack and defence. She's a lot faster too 😂
@@ropativ7483Kelsie Thwaites was in the mix last year too bit I think she had a serious injury. I agree that there's probably other players better than Charmaine Smith. I'm guessing that she's there to add some experience but I don't see any signs of leadership from her. Ngan-woo had an ankle injury but she's pretty much 100% fit, so is Ayesha Leti-l'iga. They will be back in action later in the year....really need Ngan-Woo back.
Whats No.14 USA doing on the wing. Too slow like a forward and always creating lots of space for NZ to run on her outside. 2 line breaks from her side in first 5 minutes.
no- every pass came out of the hands backwards- even if one of the passes had drifted forwards, coming backwards out of the hands would still make it legit (you're also probably failing to compensate for the camera angle, or just trolling)
@@joepunk90 cant post a URL here on UA-cam but please Google an article written in the (UK) Guardian Six Nations page by Luke McLaughlin where he quotes Wayne Barnes: "The deciding factor as to the legality of a pass, as the referee Wayne Barnes explained on World Rugby’s website during the last World Cup, is the direction of the ball from the hands, rather than the position of passer relative to receiver. 'It’s not about the direction that the ball eventually ends up, it’s about the direction it’s travelling in as it leaves the hands,' Barnes said. It comes down to something called relative velocity. The momentum of a player moving forward will also take the ball forward, even if the pass leaves their hands going backwards."
The girls play the game just that little bit different in rhythm to let all sorts of extremely difficult skills come together. Mind you. With terrible opposition like this. Anything is possible. It's time for the yanks to either get it together or give it up once and for all.
When the rest of the world starts to get 2 or more wins up on the all blacks, everyone will forget the contribution the All blacks (coaches, management etc) gave the rest of the world...as im sure, our women havnt forget ,as much as the fans have..Aussie needs help and the allblacks etc came to their aid....if it wasnt for the jerseys, soon we want be able to tell the difference in either team ...
