30:37 "It's the largest landslide in history". No. There was a debris flows off of Mount Rainier which went all the way to Puget Sound. Sometimes people think that 'history' began with their own birth. It didn't.

In times of catastrophe you cannot take for granted that Emergency Services are going to be able to get to you, let alone make YOU their priority.
You do not know what Emergency Workers are going through themselves.
Never, ever take your Emergency Services for granted. Never.

This was horrific to watch. I never realized how bad mudslides are. They totally destroy everything. I had left Vancouver Island and returned to live in Australia and one month later St Helens errupted. Watched an hour just on the erruption. It was horrific. Ring nets are a fantastic solution Thank you for posting

This is what is in store for people rebuilding in and around downslope locations from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire burn scar along eastern foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. FEMA-HPFAA claims processors are not providing victims whose homesteads burned in the fire enough compensation to relocate to safer places, essentially dooming them to death by post-fire debris flows, mudslides and flooding if they are foolish enough to rebuild there.
