- This is my contribution for the Star Wars art challenge from the Artcasters Facebook group. It's a Sandtrooper riding a patrol dewback on Tatooine.

Great video, Andrew. Liking the instructional aspect to this one. The mix of real-time & time-lapse is spot on. :)
Thanks! Yeah, I'm trying to strike some sort of balance with all that. I still get a little nervous knowing people are watching me work through my mistakes, but I know people want to see things from the beginning.
Nice work, keep up the good work 😉
love these videos, do you draw any psychedelic art?
I enjoyed this video! It was nice to see this from start to nearly finished. It does suck using a cell phone camera to film with but I guess they do pretty good considering. I hope to get a better camera myself just for this type of stuff. Keep up the great work, man!
Thank you! These are recorded with an iPhone 5s and, generally, it does a decent job. I've had some issues with it not wanting to focus correctly on the art, but it doesn't happen often. Good lighting is key, though. And I'm still working on that :)
very nice! i love your work with ink! i am a portrait artist, i us graphite and sometimes charcoal but i prefer graphite because in my opinion its much easier to control! but ya i watched you video of you drawing the pirate skull and i found it that interesting! so im thinking of moving and branching of to more mediums starting with ink but im kinda scared and nervous about it! lol cause i think ink is very intimidating! lol any advice? if you want to check out my work im on Instagram at @artbyjordanhall i am open to constructive criticism! thanks alot Andrew and keep up the hard work!
+Jordan Hall Thanks! As far as advice on inking, all I can say is jut jump in and see what you're comfortable with. I've used everything from Micron pens to brush pens, to regular paint brushes to do my inking. And I feel like my technique is constantly evolving. The thing to remember is to not get frustrated early on. Inking smooth, confident lines takes time. So does getting good line variations from thick to thin. I believe that's what makes ink drawings dynamic and interesting. I'd suggest finding some inkers whose style you like and see how they do it. I like guys like Skottie Young, with very loose sketchy inks, but that's just me. Good luck!
