My mom and grandmother used to sing this to me and my sister when I was little…. It’s been over a decade since my grandmother passed.. not a day goes by that I don’t think about her. This song played at my wedding two years ago when I walked down the isle. This song has gotten me through so many bumpy roads that has taken a toll on my life. Losing two children back to back at only 24 years old. This song has gotten me through it. I cannot wait to sing this to my child when that time comes. I, too sang this to my babies. Who doesn't? They are grown now, bringing me grandbabies by the dozen. I was very ill two years ago and in the hospital. I woke one morning to eight of them in my room singing this as quietly as they could. The doctor came in and said it sounded heavenly out in the corridor and they could sing a little louder if they wanted. But not too much louder. My youngest grandson, 2 yrs old, laid across me singing "Su-shine, su-shine. Su-shine, su-shine." It made me cry of course.
