If this doesn't get any awards, I'll be wondering if the industry even acknowledges metal and melodic metal into its ranks. This song deserves to be heard by millions. It's a masterpiece.
The only people that will hear this are fans. People looking to different bands within their preferred genre and people doing reactions you will never see or hear this on anything mainstream unfortunately
In my experience melodic metal tends to be overlooked JUST because its metal and (most commonly) it's done by black metal bands or other hardcore bands that have a bad public record. I wish it would become more mainstream because it's so stunning as it's own subgenre
there is clearly a fandom here, and I totally want to like it, but it's very niche. it's just a bit whiny, can't tell if it's a parody (meatloaf, Twilight, what we do in the shadows) or not, which makes it kind of interesting in a way. not sure millions will really be into this, although millions isn't what it used to be...I guess if the claim was "this deserves to be loved by a small city like Toronto" I could totally get behind that
From now on when people ask me what depression feels like... I'll just show them this video. It captures the emotions, pain, hopelessness, crying for help and complete breakdown that happens in your head... and the constant reconstruction of yourself on a daily basis to move on day to day. AMAZING!!!
Have you heard Ronnie's cover of Papa Roach's "Last Resort"? If you think this describes depression, go listen to that one and you'll change your mind.

Ronnie didn't have to flex that hard at the beginning of the year, all other artists have nowhere to go from here. Hardly anything is going to top this

Why do we need MTV to play the same 10 videos every hour when we can choose exactly what we want to listen to whenever we want? MTV doesn’t have any type of super power over success or fame. It was a staple in it’s day, but UA-cam is far more popular and viewed more than MTV ever was. Tom McDonald has never been on MTV and never will, but he’s more famous than most the current artists MTV plays today. You wouldn’t know that though, but if you check his numbers, they’re very remarkable for an artist who is 100% independent. This is the first time i’ve heard Falling In Reverse, but i’m sure they’re very popular. Why do they need MTV? So, if they’re lucky, the handful of people left who are paying for cable can maybe catch a glimpse of this video in between commercials while flipping through the channels? Look, i loved MTV also..But it’s extremely outmoded, bro.
I had never heard of Falling in Reverse, nor had I ever heard of Ronnie Radke. I stumbled across this, and to say it blew my mind is the understatement of the century. I have never gotten such a visceral reaction to a song before. The line “Hi my name is Ronnie, I’m an addict.” Gave me chills as I too am an addict. June 1st was one year sober. I felt every second of this song.
You should look up some of his older stuff, too from Escape the Fate. Lots of great lyrics honestly, one of my nostalgia albums is "Dying is your Latest Fashion".
This version hits SO much differently, like...bro, I actually got choked up. The emotion he put into this is raw and powerful. He really channeled his inner vampire to create this masterpiece. This has been on repeat since it was released.
So, in case anyone else is wondering what exactly was going on in this video, like I was, here's what I could come up with from watching it a few times and pausing every few seconds. The version of Paige in the white dress is the vampire Paige, living alone in the mansion after Ronnie's death, and she's walking through various rooms and seeing memories of her past self with Ronnie. I think it starts with her in the blue dress watching Ronnie play piano, and everything is good, but then something happens and he kills someone. Maybe the owner of the house/the person the cop later shows him a photo of. Ronnie buries the body, and maybe Paige doesn't find out about it (since she's calmly sewing as if nothing's wrong). Then the bloodstain on the ground is either from another victim of Ronnie's, or maybe the same one that she has now found out about. She cleans up after him and helps him cover it up, but doesn't look happy about it. I think, based on how relatively calm she still is now, compared with how afraid she is later, we can assume the victim was either someone she didn't care about, or someone who deserved it, maybe. She probably still doesn't know he's a vampire, at this point; she probably just assumes he's a regular person who happens to be a murderer. Then the police show up with those photos. I think the man in the photo is Ronnie's first victim, but it's hard to say if the woman is also a victim of his, or if Paige is the woman in the photo. The resolution makes it hard to tell, but I'm starting to think maybe it's her in the photo. If this is the case, maybe the man was an abusive husband who Ronnie killed to save her, and that's why she was willing to help him cover it up. Ronnie denies having seen the man, but maybe Paige is starting to feel guilty for what happened, so they have an argument and she leaves. Ronnie starts drinking and spirals, during her time away, and begins luring other people to his mansion to satiate his thirst for blood. Some time passes, and Paige decides to return, but when she reaches the door, she hears the gunshot. I think the gunshot was probably fired by one of the victims, at Ronnie, in self defence, because what need does a vampire have of a gun? Paige runs inside and finds the bodies, and Ronnie with glowing eyes and vampire teeth in a woman's neck, and they both freak out. Ronnie runs because he's terrified of her knowing the truth, and Paige is terrified because... well, he's a vampire. She knew he was a killer, but this is different. Ronnie returns to find that she has killed herself (With the knife she was using to cut the thread during the sewing scene, by the way, which is great foreshadowing), but I really can't work out why she did this. Were his latest victims people she cared about, or was she blaming herself for leaving, thinking if she hadn't left he might not have killed those people? I don't know, but Ronnie clearly doesn't want to lose her, so he gives some of his own blood to save her, right before the mob show up to kill him. Ronnie lets them tie him up and kill him, maybe because he's realised that he's gone from hurting those who deserve it, to hurting innocents, to hurting those he loves, and he doesn't want it to go any further. After his death, vampire Paige lives for some time, alone in the mansion (as the woman in the white dress), wandering through the rooms and remembering her life with Ronnie, but eventually decides yet again to kill herself, and that is when she walks out onto the balcony in the morning sun to let herself burn. It's unclear whether this is really a suicide, or simply a vampire deciding she's lived long enough, and finally letting herself die. It kind of depends on how much time passed between Ronnie's death and hers, but I think it's the second option. She doesn't seem that sad, more just nostalgic as she watches all the memories throughout the video. Metaphorically, I don't really know what it means, but feel free to let me know what you think. I'm keen to hear other people's interpretations of this amazing piece of art.
I dunno, but I'm pretty sure The Drug In Me Is You Reimagined is, SOMEHOW, related to Ronnie becoming a vampire - It's a much more artistic, visual video than it is a story, but the outfit and the vampire teeth entirely match this video, and the lyrics fit the mold of a story of someone being turned into a vampire and coming to terms with immortality, the high of drinking blood, ect. It's entirely possible that the picture is, in fact, the woman from that video, who potentially could have been the person who turned Ronnie into a vampire, who was set on fire at the end, which could be a metaphor for her dying via sunlight. Perhaps the officer is showing Ronnie that photo because the townsfolk killed her, knowing she was a vampire, and with the suspicions that he too may be a vampire, showed him that to try and get a response.
@@thiccestboi5114 That's a really interesting take. I hadn't considered a connection to The Drug In Me Is Reimagined, though I did notice he had vampire teeth in that too. I think it's more likely that the videos are unconnected and the vampire teeth in that video were simply meant to be a clue to tell the fans that this song was the next to be reimagined, but idk. I like your idea, and I hadn't considered the fact that the woman in that video was set on fire. Both videos and songs are soo good, I really hope Ronnie does more in this style.

This isn't just a song, it's a masterpiece. This is why we need MTV back.
Is a legit masterpiece 👏 👌 🙌
UA-cam >>>>> MTV
WOW. WOW. UNBELIEVABLE. this guy keeps blowing me away. What a voice.
MTV can stay where it was. That shit killed rock
Congrats, stay clean!
Haha well go hear his original dying is not you latest fashion album with his first band escape the fate

I've heard they represent Derek and his fiance but I can't find the correlation besides unfortunately, they both die
Both videos and songs are soo good, I really hope Ronnie does more in this style.

it’s not a “reimagined”, but it feels like one!
You win
Today?
This was the most angelic noise I’ve ever heard, and the violins DID YAW HEAR THE VIOLINS!!!!!!
Ronnie to Epitaph: So I've got this idea.
Epitaph: Yes. Yes, whatever it is, yes.
“Shut up and take my money, unlimited budget”
Literally shut up and take my money
Ronnie: *enters the Epitaph building*
Epitaph: *empties bank account*
@@DVRKSTXR oop kellic robbed the bank
Hahaha
The chills when he sings "Hi my name is Ronnie I'm an addict"...It was haunting. Anyone that deals with addiction, whether personally or has a loved one suffering Had to feel that..
I'm a recovering addict...I've been clean for 2 years..one thing I've had to learn is that I'll always be recovering and I'll always be an addict. It's something that I deal with everyday. So I can relate. And yes it hit me hard. This whole song did. I love The drug in me is you reimagined as well! I love a lot of their songs but these are my favs.
@BlackPink in your Oreo thank you! I'm very proud of myself. My kids are my biggest motivation so that helps a lot.
It's funny because for a while I've thought that I got over my drug addictions, quickly realized that it only takes a moment to dive back down, doing well, now, though.
In the original, the line feels sarcastic. Like hes a college guy being forced to confront his addiction and go to AA for the first time. In this version he sounds matured and like hes finally accepted his addiction.
That line in particular definitely does resonate. Admitting you have a problem and realizing it at the same time is really difficult.
This is seriously one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. An absolute masterpiece in every way.
It truly is. I'm going to be sad if this doesn't someday lead to a full length emo opera
Nah this chit is lame the original is best. Banging Paige made Ronnie go soft AF! Xavier Woods already been up in that!
@@mrsmime4055 your absolutely CRAZY if u think the original is anywhere NEAR better than this absolute masterpiece. The original is great, but by "revamping" the original was the best thing that could have happened to the song period. His vocals on the original are nowhere near as great as this version.
@@mrsmime4055 lmao this version is not lame, this version has so much depth it's ridiculous. It's about the actual music and the vocals, it really doesn't get much better than this
@@vincentlemons1711 right? The original doesn't even touch this version
