Tumor Suppressor Genes - p53, pten, p21, pRB

- This lecture explains about the different types of tumour suppressor genes including p53,p21,p10, pRB and so on. Tumor suppressor genes are constitutively produced in cell that regulates cell cycle stages and make the decision to either fix any DNA damage or to kill the cell with apoptosis pathway. Tumor suppressor genes are normal genes that slow down cell division, repair DNA mistakes, or tell cells when to die (a process known as apoptosis or programmed cell death). When tumor suppressor genes don't work properly, cells can grow out of control, which can lead to cancer.

Which of the following is tumor suppressor gene?
a)p53
b) neuroblastoma
c)SRY
d) retinoblastoma
P53
Superb explanation, but all I keep thinking throughout is "Im not your friend, buddy" =D
Thank you. Glad you liked my lectures
The gene for retinoblastoma is transmitted along with a gene for esterase D to which it is closely linked. However, either of the two alleles for esterase D can be transmitted with either allele for retinoblastoma. How do you know that retinoblastoma is not the direct effect of the esterase D genotype?
Please give explanation...
I enjoy and love the way u teach
AMAZING LECTURE!!!!!!
the mechanism of triggering, decision repair path, and decision destroy path of tumour suppressed gene
Thank you so much really helpful to me .
Sir where i get all the notes of these lecture
Shomu, Fascinating lecture! Am I correct that genes are binary, that s either on or off and that if we make sure the sequence leading to the TSG is correct, it will stop the growth of the tumor? If we identify the sequence, we CRISPER out the bad sequence, and CRISPER in the correct part of the sequence and we stop the tumor growth???
thank you for your kind talk ^^
summersonrad
thanks a lot! so helpful

Sir can u please explain if the ngs report of the tumour tissue says tp53 51% what does it mean? It means amplification or overexpression of tp53?? Which mean its now contributing to tumour formation??? How nuch % of tp53 should be there??? Uts in somatic test and not detected in germline..
It is really very helpful..Thank You :)
Thank you sir
How pten works
you are amazing! Thank u very much
very helpful
Thnx sir
You're welcome
He really wants you to learn ! wow
Thank you
How does cancer cells escape Checkpoints and these tumour suppressor genes?
they don't , they are not cancer yet until they escape them before being a cancer , simply by mutating , cancer is a mutant cell
Sir, can I get any study meterial about p53 and p21?
Shomu,, if the Tumor Suppressor does not work, you said cancer is a result. Can deformities also result? I'm hearing about babies in Japan's Fukishima area, are born with extra and missing limbs.
deformities often happen with developmental genes but not always happen with tumor suppressor gene !
ALLAH save you !you save me in this explain .....😢l have exam
Glad to hear that you are getting benefit from the videos
Are sir...apki e2f or pRB wali jo video thi....kaha h vo
