Wouldn't expect anything less from a world-class tennis player. It's not best of 5 and an athlete can handle such. Even amateurs can play a whole tournament in 2- 3 days from Round #1 to final, and these guys are machines with 20 people taking care of every inch of their body & mind. Sure, their stamina can be a bit lower, but still super high.
I wouldn't underestimate Ruud going to RG24. The amount of confidence he gained this week after completing so many comebacks even in hopeless situations will make him incredibly hard to beat in Paris.
Not sure if playing this physically taxing tourney all the way to the final is such a good preparation then. 2 matches now and first round RG tomorrow already! No rest at all like other top seeded players did have.
@@Funkytrip73i think his match changed. Its monday evening and not against Mensik anymore. Also, last year Ruud won Geneva then made RG final. The dude can live on clay 24/7
@@milosc__7310slight correction: in 2022 Ruud won Geneva and then made the final of RG, not last year. Last year was the one loss he has in Geneva against Nico Jarry in the quarterfinals... and then he made the final of RG!
I am absolutely stunned by Ruud's fitness. Guy plays a three set match and two hours later is back to running for every single ball. What an exceptional athlete. Wishing him all the best for the french he may actually have a chance to do it this year!
Ruud's movement on clay is intimidating! It also seems he felt the ball really well in this match. He looks so fluent in his shot making and his transition from defense to attack is masterclass. Well deserved 👏
Some people may question his decision to play Geneva right before RG but I think this is just what he needed for his confidence and form after disappointing results in Madrid and Rome (after great results in Monte Carlo and Barcelona). He got lots of match play, played lots of big points against good clay courters, had to come back from a set down a couple times and a set point down in this final but by the second set he looked super confident and in his element. What happen-ed in Madrid happen-ed and what happen-ed in Rome happen-ed and here we are here, we are in Geneva. I don’t think he’ll play till Tuesday at RG so hopefully he gets a couple days rest.
He usually says he likes playing a lot of matches leading up to a GS. His physical conditioning is clearly up for BO5 and now he’s on a roll with match play and is in the zone mentally. He’s gonna be tough to beat over 5 sets especially for anyone who is a bit rusty or has had injuries recently, which is most of the top players at this moment.
@@DeltaSixDJ Ruud got injuries both in Estoril and Rome, that’s why he lost there…so hopefully he’s figured out how to avoid that now, because nobody’s able to outplay him on clay anymore.
One of my favourite players has won again. Terrific day for Ruud, loaded with effort and endurance. The pressure from Machac in the first set was enormous, yet Ruud had made an excellent come back and sealed the win in the second set. Big congratulations! Looking forward at Rolland Garros.
Как же восхищает Рууд! Наверно, его девиз: "Никогда не сдавайся!" Играет на все 100%, бьётся до последнего шанса. И вот результат! С победой, красавчик Каспер! Люблю тебя!
Ruud just won 4 sets to 1 against 2 different players in a semi final and final in one afternoon. Dayum well played. Good luck in the French. Hopefully he’s not worn out for it
Ruud style is the closest thing to an early Nadal. Baseline grind, clutch points on the limit and s strong fighting spirit. He can have a good route in Paris.
Mr Safety Shot does it again. I don't know how, but he loves putting himself under the cosh, going down, set point against him and fight back to take the match - so long as he's doing it from being behind. Well anyway crowd look like they got their money's worth: Both players produced some awesome rallies and variety of shots per rally.
There were so many opportunities for Machac to land a drop shot when Ruud was pushed to the back edge of the court and he didnt do it and allowed Ruud to come back into the point. Ruud played like a madman though and came through.
Man, how many times do people need to tell Tennis TV to stop putting the winner only in the thumbnail and spoiling the result of the match? How hard is it to just simply put both players in the thumbnail? Problem solved.
@@uvdalmoments8176 also people mock him about this, but if you look at Tsitsipas to say, he only won MonteCarlo out of 250s, never a 500 or another 1000. Also Ruud has more slam finals than Tsitsi
Did u achieved anything in life remotely close? Rudd has been through multiple GS finals….many including top players dream of winning 250s too but they failed. Winning a title at any lv is not easy
Ruud is a formidable player but still needs that "it" factor. Currently he is the top player of the 2nd tier. I hope he jumps that hurdle and gets something bigger like a M1000 or even a GS. Nobody deserves it more than him.
Tomas is a great player and quite under-rated, he went full on in first set. Impressive(but not surprising) the amount of world-class players coming out of Czechia and Czech-tennis academies, centres and schools
Is Machac (since I read it in the comments yesterday) also such a pretty boy and good friend of Rune, since he also wears such extremely short trousers? Where are the dropshots of Ruud? Super likeable, humble guy - one of my favourites on the whole tour - I hope - if he had to play against the German Zverev (who I don't like at all) in RG, I'd give him the win. So in general, I hope he goes far there! And great, 8 minutes of final highlights! His speed is enormous - but for me as a non-tennis pro/understander, he needs to bring more variety to the game, what do you think?
He had quite a few dropshots (as well as backhand winners down the line) in both the semi and the final. A pity they didn’t include them in the highlights.
Guy played semi and final the same day with just 2 hours in between and won the title. What a legend
Wtf really
That was crazy it’s not normal
Gosh so boring. We need players with stylish or fun games to win more titles.

Ruud showing us what a mature match player he's become. Not panicking when behind, and picking his moments. Really solid percentage tennis.
I wouldn't underestimate Ruud going to RG24.
The amount of confidence he gained this week after completing so many comebacks even in hopeless situations will make him incredibly hard to beat in Paris.
you should.he would be tired as hell and first round in 1.5 days for him
@@TheGowshikan He has been playing Geneva then RG for a few times now and is a b2b RG finalist. This must be something of a routine for him.
