What a good kitty! I find stainless steel water fountains and bowls or ceramic bowls best to avoid acne. Avoid all plastics no matter how good they say they are on the box.
It’s not the food, most likely. It’s the dish the food is served in. Plastic is usually the main culprit, but metal can be the issue for a small amount of animals.
Try washing and dry the bowl before every meal, change to a glass or porcelain bowl. Plastic, metal, low fired stoneware dish’s all have problems. If it is an allergy, my vet says the dermatitis will show up on the belly also
I got china singles from a thrift store. They're perfect. The bacteria that does gather isn't bad and you can wash them in the dishwasher because $1 for a dish or bowl is pretty good.
If you use a chlorhexidine shampoo and some water, let it sit for 5 mins and then brush, it won't be red raw or painful. Then just wipe away with clean water cotton pad after.
I have 1 cat constantly getting this too. I wash all their bowls twice a day and clean his areas regularly as he starts to get break outs and it just keeps happening. The vet has had me try various probiotics but it just keeps coming back regularly
Mine also after many years of cleaning has gone worse. He is 10 Yr old white male. Food skin and hair. Metal dish for food. Water fountain - looks plastic. Oh dear!
I have stainless steel dishes, also used glass. I wash them daily . But it returns from time to time. I noticed that if I switch cat food it clears on its own
First grab a second soft tooth brush. Put on a pair of sweats.- preferably heavy. Get some Dawn dishwashing soap, cotton balls and apple cider vinegar into the bathroom. Take the cat into a bathroom. Close the door and make sure that the cat can't get out. We the cat's chin with a hot washcloth. Wet the toothbrush in hot water and put a drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid on it. Then start brushing the cat's chin with the tooth brush. Do this for about 10 minutes. Rinse the cat's chin with the hot washcloth. Once it's soap free, put some apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and clean the cat's chin again. The Dawn dishwashing liquid has very drying qualities and will help the sebaceous oil that is clogging up the cat's pores. The apple cider vinegar has further astringent qualities and will also help. Both are edible so you won't poison the cat.
@@gaylenewood7707 Read all of the instructions!! You're supposed to rinse the soap off!!! And once the chin is soap free, by using the hot washcloth, you then use the apple cider vinegar.
This is so frustrating to watch…just use a flea comb and brush in the opposite direction the fur grows..it would take a few seconds instead of all the fussing and time wasting here

I agree. My dog's chin used to be red and angry and as soon as I started washing her plastic dish and her toys each week, that went away.
my kitten doesn't have any plastic bowl and he still has it. Sometimes I guess it's the food
Washing their food and water bowls each day does help. China bowls are ideal rather than plastic or steel

Thats a common reason yet but saying it's not the food could be untrue. Allergies are also a reason it happens.
A beautiful cat! So cooperative.
Fixed easily with a stainless steel bowl. It’s plastic or ceramic ( with cracks) that causes cat acne.
Not in our case, regrettably. This would be awesome if it was the case
It takes 2 of us to hold my cat while I try to do this with 1 hand and it still doesn't end up looking as good as this. Nice job.
Eyelash combs work well. And yes, glass dishes. Use a good probiotic if allergies persist.
You did a fantastic job & it seems your fur girl understands that your helping beautiful video and fur baby
Lol! You call THAT annoyed and pissed? Let my cat show her “effing furious”….🤣
She was very good to let you do that
wow, such a cute kitty. That acne looks horribly painful but she is so calm.
It’s not painful, uncomfortable, yes. And she is a pretty calm cat, yes
You may wish to consider feeding in glass or ceramic to see if that reduces the allergy

@@ChelseaMLarkin wow, nice tip
No plastic food or water bowls.
Must have felt good. Kitty just let you do whatever, We'll the spray was not feeling good lol.
Unexpected, maybe, but not hurtful
Use a glass or ceramic feeding dish it’s probably the bowl
What a beauty! And such great patient. 🙂
Я удаляю железной щеточкой для чистки шерсти. Очень легко и быстро. Не болезненно.
It's plastic food dishes not cat food
Sometimes it’s cat food
I have not used plastic at all and still have this problem
Time to try new food and a ceramic dish

It also might an allergy to something, even food
@@Meowgical I'm going to take him back to the vet cuz it's never really gone away long term. He always manages to get it regularly.
Saya biasanya mengolesi dagunya terlebih dahulu dengan cream degreaser tipis-tipis.
A toothbrush works better than a flea comb

Um dawn dish soap it is toxic if cat licks it..

@@mmeeddddddozzzzzzz3421 "both are edible" In other words, you either don't know what you're talking about or are deliberately malicious.
It’s not from allergies, it’s just dirt and grime clogging the pores.

😅
I switched to metal bowls and glass water bowls and he still get horrible chin acne I clean almost every day
go to vet to see what's the problem
Yes, go to a vet. In our case it was cat food allergies
I would just make sure to use glass food and water dishes and was them well daily. Plastic bowls always cause this.
Dirt
You seem like a good caregiver to your Kitty, thank you for the video! God bless you 😊
@@LaurieCoon thanks
@@Meowgicalyour so welcome and have a blessed day!!!
Use a soft bristle toothbrush on his acne..
