@@gautamsaxena739 with due respect Sir your understanding of how culture and practices change are quite wrong. If I extend your example all Bengalis are Mongolians - because that's what they are;. Now if you start saying that Hindu Bengalis are actually Buddhist Mongolians - that would be pretty stupid. So it is quite alright to say that there are Hindus and non-Hindus living in India. May be you are still hurt that some Bengalis converted to Islam. If you are interested you may want to find out the reasons. I personally like to remain 'the fool' (as you rightly called me) and uphold my National Anthem. Be well.
@@yarindam Sir with due respect throw your propaganda history books. "Bengalis are of Mongolian descent" Good joke. Bengalis are descendants of the Indus valley people. Second thing 'No' faith is older than Hinduism not even buddhism, even Lord Buddha was a Hindu. So to say that every Non-Hindu is a converted hindu in India is Factually Right. Third Only Mughal bastards were of Mongol descent, there are only 2% Muslims of total Muslims are of foreign descent. Hope you get enlightened.

Excellent tutorial. I think this style is called "malya-kocha" in Bengali. I'm not sure of the pronunciation though. I'm not sure what this style is called in Hindi. India's defence minister, Rajnath Singh is perhaps the only high-ranking BJP politician who wears dhoti and he wears it in this style. I'm just wondering if it's possible to to take washroom break and do the needful there without disturbing the arrangement?

There is a difference in terminology commonly used in N.India and S.India. The term "Lungi" in S.India (more importantly in Tamil Nadu) means the colored ones (mostly used by Muslims) usually printed (checked or with floral designs). While Lungi to the rest of the country can be of any color (including plain white) as long as it is just wrap around (as we do it with a towel after taking a shower). Nonetheless, this is called 'Vesti" in Tamil Nadu (its just a wrap around and is plain white in color without any printed material, with the exception of borders), remember, if it is colored or printed with design, then it is not vesti but Lungi in Tamil Nadu. All the ministers of Tamil Nadu, way wear vesti (and not Lungi). Now comes the term for dhoti (as referred to in the rest of India); the dhoti in Tamil Nadu is called 'panja-kachcham" as it is tied down at five places. Hope this clears some air of confusion surrounding Lungi, Vesti, Dhoti, and Panjakachcham.

I am seriously amazed by traditional Indian clothing. This particular style of dhoti looks really neat and practical. Thank you for sharing this video and a bit of your culture!
It suits Indian Climate Hot humid except the Himalayan snowy glaciers region
Dhoti fabric being from Cotton ensure proper ventilation. White color absorbs less heat

Very nice. Always want you cherish our traditional clothing style. Nowadays very few knows how to wear nauwari, dhoti, kashta. Pachvar... We should learn this to keep traditional wearing alive. ❤❤❤
Brilliant, simple, cultured. Thanks for the video. Proud of you.

I was looking for a Simple but Elegant & (most importantly, Comfortable) way of wearing dhoti for my 4 years old Baby girl for a dance performance.
My search ended here!
Thank u so much Brother..
Quite different & stylish but still elegant and comfortable👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Exactly, this style is useful for dance only & for nothing else.
This is our culture they came, they conquered us,they said we were uncivilized, not only did they conquer our land but also our minds, let's go back to our own culture ,let the freedom of mind movement begin....nice demonstration on how to wear this . It sparked me as a woman why dont I use saree and a kurtha
Excellent look and looks perfect for out door occasions and some physical activity.
Isn't it going to be difficult in loo?
This is very nice type
Last 40 yrs i wear dhoti religious functions even though I like this method , i will try it

Thanks for sharing this demo 👌👍🙏I'm learning for my husband to attend a grand traditional function at native place.
Glad to know that the video could be of some assistance for the occasion, ma'am! :)
I m proud of you to maintain our Hindu Culture
There is nothing about "Hindu Culture" and dhoti. Both hindu and non-hindu bengalis wear dhoti (dhuti) and lungi - traditionally. It's the culture.😝
@@yarindam fool, because those non-hindu bengalis are converted hindu bengalis🙂. "There is no Non-Hindu in India", every non-hindu is converted
@@gautamsaxena739 Throw the history books - And read what your book? I have nothing else to say to you. Please live under the propaganda rock and never see daylight.
Went through a few videos earlier, wasnt able to understand them. This one worked for me. Thanks a ton.
I always wanted to wear Dhoti this way but I was unable to do so. I was content with the style prevalent in Eastern India. Thanks a lot 😊
I never knew, UA-cam also suggests this kind of video. Thanks for this new change that's coming up or else it always had secularism in its head. We all know it's tough for the starters but thanks for the wonderful video, for showing it quite simply. Appreciate that. JAI SHREE RAM🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

I wonder why Indian men dont wear this beautiful piece of cloth anymore!
Becoz of inferiority complex
@@Rajesh.Murari Yes bro right but the Inferiority complex is the main reason.
@@Rajesh.Murari by that logic , saree would not have been in fashion till now..
I would rather go with the logic of inferiority complex. That men think this piece of cloth is back dated.

For doing pooja, the regular way of traditional type is recommended...since you need to have 'Kachche' on both sides, front & back...
but this type is also very good... I think this type of Kachche panche wearing will be good for cycle riding and bike riding too...
Love it, but can’t help to ask my self how do you use the WC when you need to! I am not joking, since I am a female from a western country Ilike to wear it myself and wonder. With al due respect of course. Thanks!
I have the same question
LOL...it is very difficult to go WC..so u hv the unwrap many layers etc..whereas there is another style quite popular in South India..where u just wrap around the cloth..

I will have to admit that attending nature's call in this style of dhoti might at times prove to be a hindrance, howeve, it is still doable without untying everything. Just the front pleat can be untucked to attend the business, without messing up with the other pleats and arrangements. I hope this clears the apprehension. :)
Just ye ek problem ke liye daily use nehi kar pata hu dhoti. Indian weather main dhoti perfect hay daily job aur full day use ke liye. Sirf ohi ek hi problem, public toilet main kayse samvale wo dhoti. !! Kuchh to tarkib raha hoga .
Now you've got me wondering. I guess I'll just have to try it and see.
Thanks for the input, sir! I will have to admit that attending nature's call in this style of dhoti might at times prove to be a hindrance, however, it is still doable without untying everything. Just the front pleat can be untucked to attend the business, without messing up with the other pleats and arrangements. I hope this clears the apprehension. :)
@@IshaanSingh Thanks very much... 😀
Sir this is not the Bengali style. This style was adopted by Hindu warriors.
If I'm not mistaken this style of wearing the dhoti is the Khatri/Kshatriya (warrior) style.

*Amazing brother. Good training for youth.* 🙏
People from South still wear lungi...It's our time to recall our culture
Thats not lungi... first learn differences and comment.. its veshti/ mundu
In Telugu it's Pancha
In south we do simple and unique style its a user friendly style...after wear like this how can we go for no.1..its very difficult at that time i thing..

For war there is a special style of wearing a dhoti known as Kshtriya dhoti. in this video kshtriya style is presented, for war they enhance the same style with few more techniques...
Thank you! If possible, please post a video showing how it was done. Also, dhoti for cold climate / snow regions where protection from heavy wind is required.

Dhoti is for those who take life slow ,easy and have measured lifestyle where one finishes all his natures call at right time (preferably morning) and have good timetable regarding when to eat when to sleep and when to do sh it.
For Modern fast paced life style people dhoti is obsolete.
Dhoti is attire of contemplative person.
