A feature documentary following the independent Scottish band from their inception to the present day.
Over 25 years and 10 studio albums-using brute sonic force mixed with subtlety and grace-Mogwai have defined their own musical genre and built a loyal following by staying true to their sound and true to their roots. The film takes us on a journey from their very beginnings, in the mid 1990s, to the band writing and rehearsing their tenth studio album in their hometown of Glasgow, Scotland in 2020 - a record made during lockdown. While at first seemingly impossible to make, they ultimately made history with it.
The documentary is filmed and directed by Antony Crook and produced by Kyrie MacTavish (Super Special, Anna and the Apocalypse), along with Naysun Alae-Carew for Blazing Griffin, Marco Colombo and Mattia Della Puppa for Adler Entertainment. The film is produced with funding from The National Lottery through Screen Scotland. The film is Executive Produced by Antony Crook, Ray Black, Mark Thomas, Lauren Lamarr and Orian Williams.
Saw you guys for the first time at the Metro in Chicago a few years back. Life changing. Please don't ever stop making music. It means more than you can imagine to people like me.
They need to come back to Chicago so I can see them
I think I'm actually gonna cry...
Stars do have a sound.
Yeah, they play hardcore will never die but you will
@@MarcosVinicius-mr8rt it’s more ambient. But thanks for the momento mori.
akctuallyyy
the title does not claim stars don't have a sound: IF they had a sound (which they do) then that's mogwai
@@oowaz I know. Not sure why even posted that. Too baked.
Hi I’m Eve and my dad’s Birthday is soon (20th March) and I was wondering if you could send him a happy birthday video! His name is Barry and he loves your music. 1 like=1 happy birthday
👇
I was fortunate to see them play live in Chile in 2002 at the "Teatro Novedades". A friend from that time invited me with the pretext of "come with me to see a band that you're going to like." I perfectly remember that the theater's management turned down the amplification while you were playing "Mogwai fear satan" but that mixture of intense sound but with a delicate arrangement lasted. Wow, it's been more than 20 years following you guys. 😜
I really love this band, especially ep+7
Interesting choice.
I’ve been listening to Mogwai since Young Team.
Still gifting the world. Thank you
Been loving Mogwai for twenty years. Thanks for accompanying the soundtrack of a lot of my life. Keep on rocking.
Been seeing you guys live for 24 years and it just doesn’t get better than you. 🥰
I love your song "Local Authority" off the Hawk is Howling. It just combs me out.
Best mogwai songs:

@@elisapasqualetto5395 thank you
Am fond of music since 5 years old and I hear all kind of music: from chinese & african traditional music to heavy metal, I also love trap, hip-hop, reggae, classic music, blues, psychedelic rock...Have also a very special affect with electronic music and techno that I hear and dance since 1995...
But I can say that Mogwai is my favourite band of all time. Despite of the technic, because I believe that all the musicians of this band are hard workers and very talentuous, their music is very special, pure and spiritual: it's like if they have collect the Soul of the Universe to express it in music; catching the light embracing the shadow perfectly.
This music has litteraly save my Love when I was younger and really down because of failures in love stories. I did not want to see people, friend, family and even the light or eat. Only hearing and listening "Come on die young" alone in a dark room with no windows. And I felt the greatest vibes I've ever felt with music: the darkness inside was transforming into light. I had pain, but the beauty of the thing was stronger and brighter...
Thanks to this great band. Thanks to the universe to have made Mogwai.
The narration fits the music very well, could be a Mogwai song.
✨🎶🎬🎶✨
Where can the film be seen?
Since they never been in my country we travelled with my wife 800 km to see them. I will never regret it, it was one of our best nights together! Thank you Mogwai!! Hopefully your music will reach to eastern Eu countires in the next years.

Found them too late as I was intrigued by a couple of tracks on the soundtrack album for the Miami Vice remake movie, that was the beginning of this love affair, saw them in Malmö on their last tour here....
After just watching this trailer, I want to go to Scotland more than ever. I was just thinking that Scotland would be the best place to see y'all!!!❤❤❤

Can’t wait to see this, although I wish it was more clear what its release is going to be like. Hopefully after its official “debut” at SXSW we’ll be able to see it somehow.

FANTASTIC.
Can't wait 🐂
if the stars had a sound I think it would sound like spaghetti being chugged
My little band opened for them once in Brownies NYC. Right after they played, they were so great, I said to Stuart or John....you're going to be as big as Pink Floyd.
I had no doubt they were destined for greatness. X
Hoping to catch you again. Saw you only once in Schauspielhaus Bochum after a showing of the Zidane movie. Good times
finally
Cult band my arse
One of like top-3 gigs of mine
