We use a WPS 4 colour press that has always been a bit wobbly, so we've mostly used it for one colour printing. I was thinking of getting rid of it and upgrading to a better machine. Now, I'm going to have a go at modifying it. Thank you!

A little late, but this should help others with the same press or similar presses. You don’t need those plates all you had to do was loosen the center bolts where the frame brackets meet the arm. While having a frame in the down position put 4 quarters on platen then tighten and you should have good off contact.

you mean the bolt he's adjusting at 7:40? That doesn't really fix the issue because the frame shoots upwards. It's really hard getting good offcontact because there are no tilt adjustments on this
@@dj7ply @12:25 you can see the bolts and slot that allows it to go up and down, i have a similar press and the brackets that angles the screens, i loosen those same bolts put washers inbetween the metal to wedge it and tighten and it angles them down enough that the screen is level
ZOBE eboz oh! I tried that but the only issue i had is that it makes the bolts loose and the screen moves. It can be a problem for registration. Where exactly do you put the washers?

I've been screen printing in a big shop for a while now, and i had one of these lying around my house as a gift from a parents from before I started at my job just because I was interested in the profession. never set it up because I didn't have the room. finally set it up. was so disappointed because if you buy it from amazon they state that the pallet base spins independent of the print heads, but they definingly do not. lol. glad to see some modification for this press.
Dang...that's sucks. Amazon do sell this brand with spinning platens, just got go through the description thoroughly! But to be honest..depending on how far you're trying to take it...you will definitely have to get a much better press! This press was a headache after I had advanced in the profession.
@@STOPBEINGLAZYMOVEMENT I’m actually getting a old press from my boss for free here in about a month. I really lucked out. It’s old but it’s a Richardson manual so it’s reliable.

13:12 You see those bolts in the back where you soldered that piece. Can you can loosen those and adjust the height of the screens?

My press screen won't stay down when pushed all the way down to palet ...it pops up... what can be wrong ?

Simpson Strong-Tie TP 3-1/8 in. x 7 in. 20-Gauge Galvanized Tie Plate ...you can copy this and paste it in the Home Depot search bro! Hope this helps!

Not that I know of, I wouldn't suggest you add micros to this press anyway! It's not the best quality!
