That is not From Dixie With Love (UA-cam it from 2006) and they did not play the "fast Dixie" in pregame at all. I know. I have been going to games for 25 plus years. We did win though so all is well.
They haven't played FDWL for awhile now, and as the band members commented here, Fast Dixie was cut because of time restraints given by the bowl people. Don't blame the band for decisions made over their heads, they are not cowards, they work harder than anyone to support out teams. Hotty Toddy!
I have been an OM fan for 20 years. I remember when the PC movement started (I agreed with the flag removal) and every year it continues and no one has the balls to tell them "no!" They will not stop until they get all that they want. Next is the nickname "Ole Miss!" You don't believe me you just sit back and watch! Although you can not make people stop saying it, it will not be used on any of our tv events, on our apparel, and will be removed off of any building or stadium. The very ones that say this won't happen are the very ones who said colonel reb will never not be our mascot. Wake up people and grow a set!
+Jason Wilson I've been a OM fan for 30 years, a grad for 25...I get it, I'm not happy with 100% of the changes either, although some were needed. Just don't blame the band, they are students who are told what to play. They work hard to support our teams the best way they can. As for the powers-that-be, you probably won't get their attention complaining here.
Well why not go to the match wearing the rebel flag, chant TSWRA at the appropriate moment (even if the band doesn't play it) and get a chant of Dixie going during the game without the band?
FYI to Oklahoma State fans! Our band plays Dixie during pregame, always has. But, they did not have the guts to play it at the sugar bowl because they were afraid we would not be "politically correct!" Cowards!
+Jason Wilson As a 4-year band parent of a senior member of the Pride of the South, I can tell you the band loves to play Dixie. They DID play it at the Sugar Bowl as part of the pregame medley, at 2:45 in this clip you can hear it, with the crowd singing "Look away, look away..." They also played Slow Dixie in the pre-game stand set at the Sugar Bowl, which you can see & hear it my video of it here: ua-cam.com/video/v7fMYhHLpm0/v-deo.htmlm45s So they did play Dixie at the Sugar Bowl, at least twice. Dixie will probably not last much longer, but trust me when I say that that is NOT a band decision, but one that will be forced on them from higher up. Don't blame the band, they love our traditions more than most.
+Jason Wilson Your original post sure reads that way to me, but maybe all of the "they's" confused me, that happens on the internet a lot. Anyways, Hotty Toddy, great time to be a Rebel!
I love the Pride Of The South, best band in sports!!

+Jason Wilson No, we didn't play it because they gave us a time limit and we cut Dixie because it would be the easiest part to leave out.
+Sabertooth1000000000 Ya'll did great! Thanks to the band for all you do!
@@Sabertooth1000000000 Should have played Dixie and the fight song and left the rest out.
Where in my post did I blame the band members?

I wasn't bashing the band members because they had nothing to do with it. Just the ones trying to be all "politically correct" and calling the shots.
