I also don't think this will be the final version of the east or even the map in general. I very much expect another map before the game is ready. it will take many more years and dondi seems to love to create maps. we had so many already and none lasted more than 3-4 years. therefore I would be surprised if gateway was the last one. just guessing tho
I love the new East Lake/Swamp too, i grow my teno there most of the time, but i also rarely encounter other players there, same with port its so awesome but so empty.
I love the new swamp/lake, it's beautiful! we just need more players over there. My guess is these larger bodies of water are being put in for preparation of larger semi aquatics (Bary, Sucho, maybe Spino?) but who knows, I can only hope.
@@omni9177 yeah, 6 years are pretty realistic, I guess. I'm pretty certain people will play in 2030 as well. some still and some new players. some won't play it anymore, but that's normal. I also stopped a few alphas and never came back to them. the long dark became a great game, yet I just played about 100 hours during the early alpha. which shows, it doesn't even have to be the games fault. just my taste of games changed
One of the reasons I put this game on pause. I love playing Deino, and it seemed like about 6 months ago it was at a decent spot survival wise. There were enough AI spawning to at least let you grow to full adult even if you didn't see a single other player in the 6 hours it took to do so. Now, for the past 2 major updates, I'm seeing players starving to death, including myself, before they even get to subadult. You can't both have the Deino start out as a tiny baby and not provide practically ANYTHING for it to eat. It can't take down any other player controlled dinos because it's too small and there's no AI animals for it eat period. I really hope this is just a bug or a balancing issue but whichever it is, it's starting to outstay it's welcome.
normally you can easily survive by school fish. but honestly, I don't like this gameplay. it does neither makes sense nor feels immersive to dry dozens of tiny fish during your way to adult. that is lame gameplay. I can't say if the fish spawn is bugged or AI just on low level, but my bigger problem is the lack of ambush possibilities. I stick to what I said about gateway from start on. there are way too many safe drink spots. as much as I like the map, but, it's terrible for deinos right now. therefore I can't wait for more semi-aquatics. they will help a lot to make deino's life more interesting again
I like the size increase over what EP was. Don't care for it being so forested. The lack of food is punishment. I've only been there as Beipi and Carno. Die every time because there area is empty 😢
I was there 3 hours as beipi and survived by crabs only. no fish at all. well, one time schooling fish within those 3 hours. for about 20 minutes or so. dunno if the AI spawning is bugged, but, that is way too less for such a big lake. it's also very lonely there
@da.mombie I've been finding much less AI all over the map. I was just wondering if it has been turned down for carnivores and omnivores. I have a very slow growing Carno on Petit Peids server that I cannot get any diet for. Only alive by eating turtle and scavenging.😕
@da.mombie so they claim but I am not sure by what metric. I cannot say it is notably different than officials but this is a subjective observation, for sure.
personally I hate it. if you ask me, then I want to see properly during day and night. I really dislike those 80% black screens. I always did in any game
Off topic but the AI spawns could be better so I wouldn't find decaying dead baby herreras dead from starvation every 20 meters and troodon would be played more often, I feel like these smaller species kinda suffered a bit with how the new hunger affects early growth stages, that's just from my experience tho Great video btw, Deino is a fun playable in The Isle, once you grow it to 100% it's very rewarding... I even hunted like 7 stegosaurus, such a wonderful feeling to hunt the spiky bois :)

they removed the dome, flattened some mountains and put a lot of forest all over. the beach is still the same, but the triangle between that beach, the harbor and the cave where the waterfall starts, is pretty much new
Maybe there is not enough fish spawns in this specific lake? Because 3 days ago me and my friend grew our deinos from fresh to 50% without leaving our lake (the one near the river under vulkano on the map) and fish here spawned pretty often, like twice a ingame day (as well as elite fish but there is only one spawns each time). So if AI is bugged then only in east lake, other lakes are fine for me at least

@@eskelhaito nothing you can do about, we already had on spiro some areas with frame drops. that's a kind of map "bug". same for gateway now. there are some areas where the frames drop for no reason. like the harbor, but also the new connection between swamp and south. that sand road also has some very bad areas with frame drops in between

They reduced AI spawns from 600 to 400 and for some species it's been a rough start. I like the new east plains but i also don't bcs its not "plains" anymore it's more of a swampy jungle. I'd say reduce vegetation. Add another island in the water make migration zones and patrol zones garunteed spawns for AI or increase it to 500 would be a good step in the right direction

@@da.mombie yes so the max ammount of AI spawns were at 600, but theyve reduced it to 400 to boost the performance. one can argue that removing much of that foliage in east plains would boost performance aswell, thats just what i would do since the AI reduction has been making fresh spawns starve more often
It'd be better if they stopped reducing the amount of ai. Every update, they make it harder to survive (it seems). Also, I really wish they'd improve underwater night vision.
AI goes up and down since I started playing in update 3. we get more, we get less, it is bugged, it isn't bugged. it's like a never ending circle. so no worry, it will get better again yeah, the underwater NV is pretty bad. the other NV is quite nice imo. much better than before at least so, let's hope they adjust the underwater NV as well
I love the new east lake but i think it area around it could use some work like trees starting to grow a bit farther from the lake, and being less dense, but it's major improvement from east plains in my opinion
yeah, someone already said in the last video that there are too much woods around. I tend to agree. as you said, it's dense and so you very easily miss people even if they are nearby. I spent about 5 hours there as beipi and deino combined. no MZ for any of them and I didn't see a single player. well, I heard a herra as beipi at at least. the other problem is, the harbor is also right by. so, if you are in this area and want to drink safely, then you better go to the harbor and will avoid this lake as adult dino.
It's a perfect place to grow as a herbivores but it's boring as hell. As for a carnivores - it's a 100% death because even goats not that common there. The place itself is beautiful and peaceful (too peaceful lol)
I was in patrol zone nearby as a teno and meet two gallies. They acted all friendly but then my food glithed and they saw it. Started to kicking me. I had to running around, hoping they will fall from the hills or lost me in the bushes (but it's impossible since the food was stuck to my face and they saw it on radar). I used bushes so they kicked each other as well as me 😂 I spend all my stamina running and started to think I'm done. But after that I just magically was able to fight again! Don't know if their attacks unbugged me or something else. Well... I hope their bodies were useful for some starving carnivores 😂
@@eg-draw that's why I love the isle. you never know what happens and the emotions you must have been through (frustration about the bug, fear for your life, satisfying ending) are the reason why I enjoy the game. yes, there are also boring and annoying sessions in between. but those you described are those why I can play the game over and over

Or here's a story, when I was playing on teno, I met a mix pack consisting of 15 dilophosauruses and an adult Diablo) Naturally, they killed me. A couple of hours ago, when I was playing on teno with my friends, other teno came to us. Cannibals. And they tried to kill us. Luckily, we are not bad players and were able to fight them off. By the way, one of the nicknames of the cannibal is - Mr.Potato.

@@ezrakristianto8069 that was pretty much the "problem". we had AI carnos with endless stam that hunted down deinos who weren't big enough to grab them. they swam above you until you either ran out of oxygen or were bitten to death when you swam to the surface. personally I loved it. it was hilarious how AI sometimes reacted because of bugs. but, most people didn't like it and so they removed it until it will work more properly

It's just too unfairly hard to sirvive right now and most pf it is just because of starving or fall damage or some bugs unstead of other players. Kind of demotivating

in the end almost every dino will be available as AI. I can't wait for their return. we already had AI dinos in evrima and I loved them

might go back to legacy im so dissapointed with evrima. does anyone go to the swamp anymore since they changed it? i avoid it at all costs its far too large now. east lake is just a dead zone why bother changing it now its even more dead. fish dont spawn hardly anywhere anymore just another thing thats broken. I have just had enough. When i finally find a fish i drop it then it vanishes out of sight and i die you gotta laugh.
To be fair legacy also runs better too, the main downside is all the *goddam Chinese* servers
wish you fun with legacy I loved it, but, personally I wouldn't want to go back to it. imo evrima is the better game in every aspect beside the amount of playables. but, people are different and if you enjoy it more, then have fun mate I miss some of my old dinos. I would love to play anky again
@@da.mombieLegacy is way better in performance, evrima is one of the games with the worst performance ive played, evrima is better in the rest
I find that every patch some broken about deinos and they thr only onei like playing... now its so hard to find fish or even SEE underwater ..
It's just too unfairly hard to sirvive right now and most pf it is just because of starving or fall damage or some bugs unstead of other players. Kind of demotivating

Yeah East swamp is pretty awful, what used to be a beautiful open space with a pretty iconic pond is now another dense forest :/
I ain't much nostalgic during alpha stages. so, I ain't miss the old east pond or area. but I tend to agree that it is too dense there
@@da.mombie I generally avoid that area now, since its sparely populated as well, unless you're a herbivore, its difficult to grow there.

They ruined that area it was fun b4 now its like swamp with no1 around boring n all looks the same. Cant see for💩 and nothin to do 😅 sad u died but least u can respawn in a more populated area
