I cant thank you enough for breaking this information down, I had no clue on how to go about using this software. In the process I have cleared up a big problem I had running select games. thanks again!
I found your video to be the most helpful yet. I find that the way you speak is concise and easy to follow compared to some. I followed the steps you laid out and hopefully this will work. I downloaded mame 226 and a split rom set. Many games were missing chd etc. Quite frustrating. Thanks for the tips.
I have a version I was able to get my hands on for mac, but interestingly, when trying to create a profile, it doesn't see my executable mame in my folder on the desktop. That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't see any of the executable files in my MAME folder whatsoever
@Devin if there is an X on the left side then that means something is missing. If you run a game, and its missing files, then that means they are not there or their corrupted. clrmamepro does not provide any missing files. It will fix and add them but you have to provide it the correct files to do so. If you follow the link in the description for updates, you should be able to find the files that are missing. As long as you match them up with the correct mame version of your game, it will work.
Just tried doing this with some roms from a merged set for a particular version I found. I had one uodate pack from the romset version to the next version. It didn't go well. I originally tried this on 41 roms, but I ended up with about 100 extra zip files in my roms folder after this. I obviously did something wrong.
It's not uncommon to get the additional zip files after scanning. I don't exactly know why that happens. It's pretty tough finding a perfect set for the mem version its supposed to work with. The best advice I can give is to check out this website adb.arcadeitalia.net/default.php it has the history of changes or updates made for each rom.
I bought a arcade cabinet from x-arcade running mame 167 and maximus frontend scared to change or update mame cause it will void warranty they explain how to add rom I've added quite a few but some just dont load like wwffest
Sorry for late reply but yes you just create one. It's been updated a few times since 167 and it been renamed quite a few times. You could try the 0.155 mame version that should work for you. How can i upgrade the rom set ?? I tried with a very old Mame v0.36 (32bit) and it is not recongnized by the ClrMamePro, only the new 64bits versions of mame. I have a full rom set (Mame 0.220 64bit), i want to run it with the old version (Mame v0.36b)
I really can't tell you why it's not being recognized. Could be it's no longer supported. I can only suggest trying 32bit version of ClrMamePro to see if that works.
Nice guide but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I still get messages when launching games like "The selected game is missing one or more required ROM".
CLRMAMEPRO does not download the missing files. If you don't provide the files needed(usually through update packs), they don't get added. It will try to fix what is already there but don't expect it to download anything that is missing.
@@ArcadeFan77 Depends on the current version you are using. The latest version now is 0.254 so if you were currently one, for example, 0.250 you would need all the updates from 0.250 to the latest one. You can get them from www.retroroms.info/page/bda in a folder that says update packs.
