The individuals in these amazing photos... were born, studied in school, courted, married, began families, suffered various weather conditions, dined daily and on special days feasted, laughed, cried, suffered setbacks, gathered with friends and family, harvested crops, grew old and... passed. This is us in 100 years. Great photos and music. Thank you.
Im estonian, so it is good to hear that :)! Nüüd olen pealinnas, kuid hingelt ikka maainimene.

Orjalaul means slave song and the lyrics are something like this: I'm pure slave and I have to work all the time. Every day I have to plow the field and every night I have to thresh. If I sit somewhere I start to cry. The sea is my drinking cup and the sky is my dining table.
Oh, poor me, slave child, during the day, I plough a large plot of land, during the night, I thresh the grain for the estate wherever I sit, there I start to cry, Oh, poor me, slave child, Oh, poor me, slave child, Black seawater is for me to drink And the wide sky for me to eat Oh, poor me, slave child
The instrumental part sounds a little Russian, too, not only Estonian -- very interesting for me -- as a child of emigrated citizens from Estonia -- sounds so familiar & yet strange
Quite a lot of today's Russians are actually originally Finno-Ugric like Estonians and Finnish. Sadly most have forgotten the Finnic or Ugric languages their ancestors used to talk and culture that they had, but some things and songs have survived (not in Finno-Ugric languages anymore though). You should also check out old Finnish folk music, it's similar to Estonian folk music especially the oldest songs are very similar.
@@carleryk This is so much true. The whole vast area around Murom was the land of a Finno-Ugric tribe. In early 70s old people there still spoke Russian with an interesting pronunciation pointing to Finno-Ugric connections. Pskov Region in Northen Russia was the land of several Finno-Ugric ethnic groups. Rather tipical (although still shocking for me) is the story of my grandfather, who was concidered the only Russian in our family coming from a village of Tver Region of Russia; and only recently it came out that he was a pure Karelian from a replaced village where people still spoke Karelian in the 20s of the last century.

Northern Russians are Finns (genetically and culturally).
Russian music was influenced by Finnish, due to Karelian/Izhorian/Votic/Vepsian ancestry
bro this song is in Estonian, are you even Estonian no hate like never see some1 enjoy Estonian music.
