Firstly, Hyena symbolizes parthiban's life. Hyena got separated from its group and parthi adopts it which turns good and fights for people who adopted him (family), this parallels Leo's life who turned good as well and now protects his family from bad people by hiding his identity.
Anna, secondly aa muda nammakala (witchcraft) chala chota unnay like a respected professor who works in a govt institute and a mother of two children has promised their children that they would be reincarnated in a good way. She sacrificed her own children for some superstitious reasons.

Barbell the hyena is a micro detail I think you didn’t catch it. Vijay is the leo/lion in the movie while the psycho saiyyan guy in the few 45 min is the hyena. Savannah lo lion and hyena are rivals and hunt each other. Vijay says when talking about the hyena “if you kill one of them, the whole pack will come to attack.” Similarly when the psycho saiyyan is killed his gang comes to kill Leo. The psycho saiyyan guy’s look was also made to look like a hyena with him laughing weirdly all the time before killing or robbing. I don’t know why lokesh didn’t go fully into the lion hyena story and just put it like a mini episode. The first villain was for time pass.

There were differences between thalapathy and Loki regarding a song with trisha, vijya wanted a song with trisha but Loki was against it , due to creative differences between them , 2nd half was directed by Assistant director and not by Loki , So can't blame loki ...however 1st half was gripping which was directed by Loki ...Feels like a missed opportunity for Loki....Source : A friend of mine who had a little insider info told me this ...And Don't trust this ....this might be completely wrong also ...I just told what I believe to be true ...I didn't believe him either earlier ..After watching the movie the difference in 1st and second half is so Big ...and second half felt like I'm not even watching a loki movie ....And every review and even public reviews most of em were like this ...It's not that I only felt it ..but almost everyone felt the same

But I have many issues with the second half. Mainly sanjay dutt role (Anthony das) father of Leo Das, He finds out the his son is alive and tries to listen from his son that he’s leo who is now living a different life named partiban. But why??? Why does he want that to be addressed by hero because there’s no plot around leo that needs to be addressed only by him. Ok I agree to the terms that it’s just out of his ego.
But, a father sees his son after 22 years and his son is doing well in life, what can his father do better if his old life is worst. Just leave him as is? But no, that won’t happen. Ok father is not a good person and bad to core and due to his superstitious nature he still wants to sacrifice his son’s life, is that why he came to Leo/Partiban?
If that’s the case it is not at all addressed even once in movie.
The funny part is Anthony das(father) kills some other person who tries to kill his daughter in law as a gesture of love towards his grand daughter and 20 mins later in movie kidnaps the same lineage grandson and threatens to kill him for Leo. Split personality is it??

I didnt watch Vijay's movies much and had no much expectations on arjun and sanjay being villians. exaggerated thoughts looking at cast and their previous films and setting your expectations over the line of movie sequence is the trouble here.
